Was anyone else irked by Kristy’s numbers? I thought Suki tried to say house prices in the area have gone up so they might have made some of it back from that and Kirsty just shut her down. It’s like she loves to talk about house prices going up or down on Location Location Location, but on LIOLI she just ignores any effect of area house prices.

The house was improved by their renovation, but my God the disruption of it (reminded me why I hate the thought of any major renovations. Also (without knowing any of the areas) both of the last two houses Phil showed them were better than theirs when finished. Obviously it’s not an option on the show, but I think in their case they really would have been better (and better off!) if they’d just looked round and moved without going through the pain of renovating. They still hadn’t properly finished by the end and going on previous form were unlikely to do so. The show obviously has a format where you are obliged to love before you list, but in real life sometimes you are just better of listing (though actually I think that pool would have made their house hard to sell.)

Agree they should move, they did well with the 35k they spent but there are much better options available albeit they need to spend a lot more.

The latest one was a bit crap.

That garage room isn't very practical. Without the bathroom in it, it doesn't really work. It would also be very pokey with a double bed in it for the parents.

I'm not surprised they went for listing it.

That third house was epic! Who wouldn’t want to have something like that, in their circumstances. Plenty of room for everyone, a lovely big garden, and so stylish!

The problem is they were looking in newish developments further into the sticks. I think the last option in particular would have been really hard for secondary schools. They'd really need to be in a town (Hitchin or stay in Stevenage).

Unless I misheard, their house was worth over 500,000, but they had a budget of 800,000 for the ones they were looking at. So of course they were going to find houses with a lot more space etc. I reckon moving was always the plan really.

I agree. The tweaks they made were with a view to selling - sorting out the en-suite and putting in a new kitchen and turning garage into an extra room (which another family could use as a playroom or whatever). V sensible with the budget they had and family staying for up to six months if the year. Much better to upsize than start over-extending what was essentially a three-bed house on a small plot.

Yes a window is nice but could have got one of the fan lights to take away moisture
