Exciting update from MNHQ! Series writer Grace Ofori-Attah will be joining us this week to answer your questions about the Playing Nice series. Post your questions for Grace on this thread.

Playing Nice is available to stream now on ITVX

We’re teaming up with ITV to bring you a live watch-along of Playing Nice, their gripping new drama that’s bound to have everyone talking. We’ll be watching right alongside you, so hop into the thread and share your thoughts, theories, and reactions in real time and be in with the chance of winning a £200 voucher for a store of your choice.

Here’s the setup (brace yourself): Set against the stunning Cornish coastline, Playing Nice follows two couples as they uncover a heart-wrenching secret - their toddlers were accidentally switched at birth. Now, they face an impossible decision: keep the children they’ve loved and raised, or reclaim their biological child.

It’s tense, emotional, and we’re betting it’ll spark some heated debate. What would you do in their shoes? Let’s unravel it together - don’t forget the popcorn.

Trigger warning: Playing Nice doesn’t shy away from difficult topics, including family separation, identity, postpartum depression, emotional trauma, and domestic abuse, which some viewers may find distressing

Can't wait to see this. James Norton is a great actor and very easy on the eye! He was good in McMafia

MintGreenDream · 02/01/2025 16:07

Same! Love an ITV drama. James Norton was such a good baddie in Happy Valley.

oddbox · 02/01/2025 18:02

Looking forward to this!

Yes! I couldn't think of the programme, but I loved him in that! Thanks for the reminder ;)

Had my eye on this. Looking forward to it tonight.

Having watched 40 mins, I'd say don't bother, it's all predictable, not gripping at all. Switched off.

I completely disagree. Why didn't you like it?

Bixterret · 05/01/2025 18:46

It was clear from the outset Miles was after keeping both kids and would manipulate things to prove Pete and Maddie weren't responsible parents.

canyouseemyhousefromhere · 05/01/2025 19:13

Sounds intriguing, I'll be tuning in.

We watched one this afternoon. It’s absolute rubbish and absolutely everything we guessed would happen, did.

LibbyMumsnet · 05/01/2025 20:03

For those who haven’t watched it yet…

Playing Nice starts in one hour on ITV1! Don’t forget to tune in, we’ll be watching along with you and will be on here after to discuss

I'm watching!

Zone2NorthLondon · 05/01/2025 21:00

It’s watchable but predictable, obvious that Miles would manipulate and set up events to discredit Maddie & Pete

Flyingwands · 05/01/2025 21:01

Sat ready and waiting for this

BeckyAMumsnet · 05/01/2025 21:02

Watching too Smile love Niamh Algar.

AmusedMaker · 05/01/2025 21:03

Really been looking forward to this!

Comeonow · 05/01/2025 21:03

Got my cuppa ready!

I'm watching now but my DS has that exact yellow coat with the black and white stripy inner layer. I have a feeling I will be reminded of this prog any time he wears it!

Is it a JoJo one? We had it a year or so ago!

Flyingwands · 05/01/2025 21:18

The idea of my child growing up with the wrong family and discovering the truth later is heartbreaking. It’s intense, thought-provoking, and makes me reflect on identity and belonging.

WhatICallMyUsername · 05/01/2025 21:20

Started this late but love James Norton so looking forward to it!

louderthan · 05/01/2025 21:20

Has anyone read the book? It's brilliant. I love JP Delaney.

MoleAndBadger · 05/01/2025 21:21

I like the actors but so far it's pretty dire IMO. It's not gripping me.
