Exciting update from MNHQ! Series writer Grace Ofori-Attah will be joining us this week to answer your questions about the Playing Nice series. Post your questions for Grace on this thread.

Playing Nice is available to stream now on ITVX

We’re teaming up with ITV to bring you a live watch-along of Playing Nice, their gripping new drama that’s bound to have everyone talking. We’ll be watching right alongside you, so hop into the thread and share your thoughts, theories, and reactions in real time and be in with the chance of winning a £200 voucher for a store of your choice.

Here’s the setup (brace yourself): Set against the stunning Cornish coastline, Playing Nice follows two couples as they uncover a heart-wrenching secret - their toddlers were accidentally switched at birth. Now, they face an impossible decision: keep the children they’ve loved and raised, or reclaim their biological child.

It’s tense, emotional, and we’re betting it’ll spark some heated debate. What would you do in their shoes? Let’s unravel it together - don’t forget the popcorn.

Trigger warning: Playing Nice doesn’t shy away from difficult topics, including family separation, identity, postpartum depression, emotional trauma, and domestic abuse, which some viewers may find distressing

How over familiar is Miles being? Not keen already.

oddbox · 05/01/2025 21:23

Crazy that Miles just turned up at their house. Did he get given their address?!

Exactly. Also there's a distinct lack of emotion. It's really odd.

Itisjustmyopinion · 05/01/2025 21:25

The way Miles just walked in their house and then demanded a photo. He would have got a short shrift from me and told to get out until he was invited to come in

BeckyAMumsnet · 05/01/2025 21:25

Just added TV pace to the title so there are no spoilers. 😱

I didn't like the way Miles just darted into the house when he first arrived.

Is it a JoJo one? We had it a year or so ago!

It is! My son had the same one.

MoleAndBadger · 05/01/2025 21:27

Why champagne? What exactly are they celebrating. Also, if the families were going to meet up, wouldn't it be done with social services? It's so odd.

Flyingwands · 05/01/2025 21:27

Miles looking down on them. Not nice.

Wallasey123 · 05/01/2025 21:27

Did I sense a bit of judgement from Miles about Maddie juggling work and parenting? Can someone punch him already

Pottydrivinguspot · 05/01/2025 21:28

Loving this, so good to have a drama that’s a bit different!

Flyingwands · 05/01/2025 21:28

I don’t trust Miles. Why sue and offer them to keep the money?

Wallasey123 · 05/01/2025 21:29

Omg. That hug with Maddie and David… I just teared up wtf

Itisjustmyopinion · 05/01/2025 21:30

There was an American drama years ago called Switched At Birth that was based on a true story where this actually happened. I have a feeling that this is going to go a similar way to what happened in that story

Anonymous2003 · 05/01/2025 21:31

Miles and Lucy giving me villian vibes

It was a true story, and a very sad one. I’m not sure there is a ‘good’ outcome in cases like these; thankfully it’s rare.

I haven’t seen that, but with the coat floating, does Theo drown then they seek to claim David?

mum2jakie · 05/01/2025 21:32

Enjoying this so far. I can remember Coronation Street running a baby swap storyline years ago too.

GrandTheftWalrus · 05/01/2025 21:32

Miles is manipulative and an abuser (i think) and is going to do everything in his power to get theo back and also keep david.

Pottydrivinguspot · 05/01/2025 21:35

Anyone know where that jumper is from? Blue and pink? I love it 😂

BeckyAMumsnet · 05/01/2025 21:36

When David reached out to Maddie 😯

Also don't trust Miles. He went from all smiles and surfing/let's go get that drink to face like stone when they left, and Lucy is clearly walking on eggshells around him.

I think Pete and Maddie are quite a realistic portrayal so far, they're in shock and bamboozled.

Grandmatrish1 · 05/01/2025 21:37

Miles is making me feel uncomfortable and Lucy strikes me as being ill at ease with her husband. Mike's seems a bit ott with Theo

Jellykat · 05/01/2025 21:37

Theo is definitely controlling and abusive.. its obviously affected little David Sad

Jellykat · 05/01/2025 21:38

Oops i meant Miles is controlling!!

He clearly doesn’t give a shit about David now that Theo is in the picture and it’s breaking my heart. At least Lucy seems to love him?

Jellykat · 05/01/2025 21:40

Great, now Miles has a reason to get Theo back..
