Anyone watching this? Started tonight. I'd never heard of Emma Sidi before, I think she's funny..

We really enjoyed the last episode! Now that we’re nearly at the end I think I’ve enjoyed Babatunde the least, and Emma has really picked up the pace. Like she’s warmed into it. Great mix of overly keen, smart and sometimes sloppy. Rosie and Jack are a great team because she gets under his persona more than anyone else. I really like Rosie btw always have! Andy deserves a lot of credit for committing to stupid comedy props, and I was delighted for him that his ridiculous helmet finally was useful 😂

Rosie and Jack are brilliant together because they are opposite ends of the spectrum. She's so joyous and he's so dour, he can't help himself being cheered up by her!

A sitcom beckons ....

A sitcom beckons ....

Or maybe a mismatched detective combo...

"Inspector Ian Chips has become jaded with police work and had decided to quit when he's paired with a young rookie officer named Mary Salad-Cream for one last investigation. Her enthusiasm renews his love of police work and they team up for a series of exciting cases in the Bracknell area.
Salad-Cream and Chips. Coming soon."

Love it! 😂

Well I have heard of 4 out of 5 for the new series but unusual for there to be no comedians so will be interesting to see how it plays out

ClaudineMallory · 14/11/2024 22:14

That's the New Year Treat - it's a special one off, it's not a series

Oh haha, I should pay more attention 🫣

Samcro · 15/11/2024 08:26

I love professor Hannah Fry, love that programme she does on bbc2.

I'm intrigued to see how Martin Lewis deals with it. Some people who seem really clever have been really crap at doing the tasks (Victoria Coren Mitchell).

To be fair I don't think he was well when he was filming his series. But yes book smart does not always equal practical smart.

Yes it was around the time of his diagnosis but he totally failed to think creatively - whether that was because he isn't that type of person or because of his illness we will never know.

TitsInAbsentia · 30/04/2025 21:18

Next season starts tomorrow! I'm not overly enamoured with the line up (heard Fatiha on Alan Carr's podcast today...as funny thrush and came across super arrogant and rude to people) and Rosie isn't my cup of tea either but I shall be watching for Greg and Alex, and Matthew Baynton.

"Comedian and writer Fatiha El-Ghorri, American comedian, actor and podcaster Jason Mantzoukas, actor and writer Mathew Baynton, podcaster and broadcaster Rosie Ramsey, and comedian, actor and podcaster Stevie Martin take up the challenge. Their success in this opening episode will rest on their skills in tasks involving vinegar, raisins and, as is traditional, peas. As usual, Alex Horne administers the tasks and Greg Davies determines the winners"

Umanresources · 01/05/2025 14:51

I’m looking forward to this, but not all the people are known to me. I’ve seen Fatiha on a few things, the Outsiders with David Mitchell and Alan Davies, as yet untitled. I wasn’t particularly impressed by her though. She was on Sewing Bee as well. Three out of the five are podcasters too. I know Rosie and Matthew, but not the other two.

BucketofTeaMassiveCake · 01/05/2025 14:59

I'm not familiar with many of the contestants this series but I'll give it a chance as it's always interesting to see what tasks Alex has managed to come up with.

Anyone watching? I think this cast has potential. Really enjoying Matt Baynton.

I'm loving the Pealympics!

PrettyFlyforaMaiTai · 01/05/2025 21:58

Matthew Baynton 😍

Snapespeare · 01/05/2025 22:13

I enjoyed it immensely, tasks were all well conceived and cast all were engaging. Particularly enjoyed the studio task.

JustAMiddleAgedDirtBagBaby · 01/05/2025 22:24

That really made me laugh.

I only know Jason M as Pimento from Brooklyn 99, so I just expect him to behave in the same way. Which meant that the fact he had both pick locks and a knife to hand for the tasks did not surprise me on any level.

season 2 janet GIF by The Good Place

He was also very good in the good place

JustAMiddleAgedDirtBagBaby · 02/05/2025 07:07

Oh yes! I'd completely forgotten I'd seen him in that as well.

TimeForTeaAndToast · 02/05/2025 07:49

I've only seen Fatiha at a radio show recording. She was not funny. Her act seems to be to sleaze after all the men and talk about hitting people. The host clearly found the sleazy comments embarrassing.
