Anyone watching this? Started tonight. I'd never heard of Emma Sidi before, I think she's funny..

I would have threatened one of the other teams to lose (in a comedic way), and also would have chucked the answers onto another team's table to get them disqualified. Loved that game.

ClosingTheDoorOnThePast · 28/09/2024 01:21

Loved the art task. Absolutely on point. They were all brilliant and I don't think there has been 5 points for all before.

IPartridge · 30/09/2024 18:20

Worth listening to Emma on the podcast to hear more about the quiz task.

Also, they both thought Rosie's art wasn't quite as good as the others. I agree.

FourLeggedBuckers · 03/10/2024 11:53

I’m really enjoying the series. I like Rosie, though that isn’t to say I necessarily agree with everything she’s ever said, or that I think she’s always hilarious - the same as every other contestant who has been on the show - every one of them has said or done something distasteful at some point in their career. People do seem to hold her to higher standards than other comedians on tv, probably for a variety of reasons, at least some of which are truly depressing.

I think the contrast between her and Jack makes for an excellent team dynamic, and I’ve enjoyed a number of the tasks so far. The quiz task was fun (if bizarre), and the artwork was classic taskmaster.

Of all the contestants, the one I warm to least is Emma, though her artwork was excellent and she can be entertaining. I’d probably have given her 5 for the art, and dropped the rest of the field to 4.

Another slightly dull week ,especially compared to the highs of last week.

Interesting how Andy is getting points and appreciation for pun-based prize tasks, whereas Victoria C-M got slated for that kind of thing (although hers were not as elaborate/creative!)

IPartridge · 03/10/2024 22:56

Yeah, the maze task just wasn't entertaining at all.

And as for the studio task!! How disappointing to be in the audience for that.

Samcro · 04/10/2024 07:27

the last task was terrible.

ClaudineMallory · 04/10/2024 07:30

Yes, not very good tasks this week.

and yet things like the maze task have been done before with other contestants and ended up much funnier. So I think it's the particular combination of people and tasks this time that is making it dull ,and maybe some bad luck in the studio tasks that go with the dull main tasks. I did think they'd have tried out the studio tasks more beforehand, although I know that on the podcast it was said that they just do them once live and if it's a flop, that's what you get.

The thing with the studio task is it could have gone on for ages - they just happened to both pick a combination on the first throw that ended the game. It could just as easily have been one of those tasks that went on and on.
Definitely a weak show last night. Disappointing after last week which was must more enjoyable.

mazylou · 04/10/2024 13:44

That was all down to Andy: as a cricket nerd, he was very quick to work out the necessary values.

But he couldn't know what the other side were going to throw over.

Firmly believe that baba should have been disqualified for the maze task. It said to walk at a gentle pace and he ran!

Fully agree just watched it on demand and I thought the taskmaster was gonna bring it up that he was running but ended up giving him the points. I didn't like how baba shouted at Alex horne that he's the winner after knowingly breaking the rules.

Normally really enjoy taskmaster and look forward to it but this year's been a bit of a let down 😔

ClaudineMallory · 10/10/2024 22:19

I thought the local news report task was really funny. Loved Isabella Crutchington!

OP posts:
BlossomToLeaves · 10/10/2024 22:23

they were funny! But heartwarming?

I thought the most powerful smell should have been the one that had the biggest effect on people sitting further away, and making them gag - that is pretty powerful, but somehow Greg said it wasn't.

The studio task was good this time.

Still, better than last week!

Samcro · 11/10/2024 07:56

it was better , actually laughed at it this week, loved the robot from midhurst.

Umanresources · 11/10/2024 15:29

I’m going to have to watch it again. I kept missing them reading the task. I think I was dozing off throughout the programme and had no idea what they were doing in the robot task. It did seem better than last week though.

ClaudineMallory · 17/10/2024 21:41

Baba's puppet was the best. I really didn't like Rosie's...

OP posts:
coffeeneeded · 17/10/2024 22:02

Was that the same Quentin as the Quentin in Chris ramsays/judy love/ Sophie duker series where they had to guess his name?

coffeeneeded · 17/10/2024 22:02

Great ep though. Loved diffusing the robot.

ClaudineMallory · 17/10/2024 22:11

The diffusing robot was a good one.

Umanresources · 18/10/2024 15:19

Again I dozed off during the robot task, no idea why they hypnotise me. Rosie’s puppet was quite predictable, it was going to be poo, periods or sex! I quite like Andy though. It’s not one of my favourite series, but there are some fun moments.

ClaudineMallory · 18/10/2024 16:17

Andy is great - "look at me, do I look as if I've ever done anything practical?!"

Samcro · 18/10/2024 16:22

rosies made me shut my eyes.
