Following on from the last thread, that started in late April 2024.

Joel's the baddie, and Lauren is still missing
Roy's a free man, and Carla and Swain are close to kissing
Will Bethany quit moaning, she does it all the time!
Sarah is still hot, but needs to slow down on the wine

Leanne's missing too, has that cult bloke kidnapped her then?
And where are the quads, does anyone ever see them?
Paul's still alive, hanging on and on in there
Cop Kit's a bit tasty but a bit annoying and hard to bear

Not much with the Platts or the Barlows or The Rovers
Carla's pub money being stolen by Jenny and Daisy has been glossed over
Adam still has his wacky hair that's a bit greasy
Daniel's still boring, yet the cutest girls to him come easy

The school bully storyline has eased off a bit
So Maria can chill - and Sarah can get off with Kit
I hope it's OK for me to start this new thread my friends
I wonder where we'll be at when this thread ends?

I really want Kit to be nice. I think he will be horrible.

Where did Sophie Webster go? I’d forgotten about her!

I can almost see fleas jumping off Cassie, she really looks so grimy, like she needs a good bath ( in disinfectant )
i’n not sorry to see Simon go, his character was pretty pointless. ( I miss his Dad though, I really liked Peter )
Mina is so annoying trying to control poor Roy when he’s been through so much. I wish she’d leave.

Yea but who was the last character introduced into the show as nice person who stayed a nice person?!! I can actually only think of deedee. All others started with huge problems and turned into a wonderful person or vice versa.

To be fair to Kit, all Bernie’s kids have started out as wrong uns and reformed. Paul was fresh out of jail and Gemma was mates with the lot from the estate that killed Kylie. It’ll be interesting to see how the whole nature/nurture plays out.

Just caught up. Leanne is a prize stomper, she stomps like a stroppy teenager everywhere.

Felt sorry for Roy and how he is seeing his relationships with others is a bit "odd", always harmless and with the best intentions, but these days seem as odd.

The Bethany/Craig (did they once have a thing?) talking in public is just stoooopid. And another serial killer in Joel... Hmmph

Where are Brian, Rita, Jenny, Addi, Fizz, Beth, Gail, Audrey these days?

Joel was quite a boring character so they clearly wanted to make him more interesting. Agree it's a rubbish storyline.

Nina is super irritating in every way especially the way she speaks. Did Sam not hear her and Roy talking about him when he was well in earshot ?! Annoying little chap.

Joel could have been given a nice hobby like circus skills or something. There are pleasant ways of passing the time other than mass murder and pimping teenagers.
Sam is annoying in a similar way to Mary. But at least they aren't armed robbers. Yet.

Really pissed off that that came up as a news thing on my phone.

Yeah I saw that. I wonder when her character will leave because I read in the DM she signed a one year contract worth 250k in February this year

Gail is so rarely on screen that it will be barely noticed that she's gone. Which is sad because she was a brilliant character back in the day. Her appearances have been so sporadic in the past couple of years that I wondered if Helen was unwell.

She was very much the fabric of the old school Corrie. It's changed so much now so guess she felt it was the right time. She's not had a decent storyline for years and has been made into a joke character. Her Aiden monologue behind the net curtains was sublime.

She was a teenager when i started watching. Working in the denim shop.
Turning her into a potty old lady is sad...I really like seeing Audrey and Rita and Ken.

I would love the writers to slowly turn Bernie into the lovely woman shown on the 'Coronation Street Women' ad that is floating around at the moment. I didn't recognise her! I can really see Dev with someone like her, whereas with Bernie as she looks, it seems so unlikely.

I steer clear of media so not sure if this is rumour or true.

Please can posters hereafter not give storyline or timeline so we don't know when/if this happens.

I agree. I followed Coronation street’s Facebook page this week, but there are more spoilers on there than anywhere. I’m going to have to come off it.

I don't follow any soap pages on the SM I use (basically only instagram) for that reason.

Gail has been a stalwart! She hasn’t been getting any good stories though…

It's hardly a spoiler ! It's not telling you when and how she is leaving.

Agree about Bernie, she scrubs up really well much more Dev's cup of tea then scruffy Bernie.

I am really irritated that this news has been released, but I suppose realistically it would never stay secret.

Knowing she is leaving counts as a spoiler IMO. Up until it's mentioned on the show.

Gail is even on the Guardian app so very difficult to avoid this news.

Spoilers don't bother me but I wouldn't pass them on here as it seems many posters take it very seriously. Gail has been fading from the street for ages and it seemed fairly obvious her days were numbered so no great shock she's quitting.

Bernie and Dev. While at first glance they seem like the odd couple I think somehow it works. The actors are doing a good and convincing job. ❤️
