Following on from the last thread, that started in late April 2024.

Joel's the baddie, and Lauren is still missing
Roy's a free man, and Carla and Swain are close to kissing
Will Bethany quit moaning, she does it all the time!
Sarah is still hot, but needs to slow down on the wine

Leanne's missing too, has that cult bloke kidnapped her then?
And where are the quads, does anyone ever see them?
Paul's still alive, hanging on and on in there
Cop Kit's a bit tasty but a bit annoying and hard to bear

Not much with the Platts or the Barlows or The Rovers
Carla's pub money being stolen by Jenny and Daisy has been glossed over
Adam still has his wacky hair that's a bit greasy
Daniel's still boring, yet the cutest girls to him come easy

The school bully storyline has eased off a bit
So Maria can chill - and Sarah can get off with Kit
I hope it's OK for me to start this new thread my friends
I wonder where we'll be at when this thread ends?

So Leanne went to a cult retreat to find inner strength and zen...
and came back with a new haircut and even more grumpier than before !!

I like it that Corrie doesn’t really do sexuality as a storyline. The characters just have their partners and sometimes they are gay. I’m finding Carla a bit of a leap though. Swain and Tracey would have been more believable, and possibly more entertaining. I like the idea of them being badass mates though.

Do you think Tracy has left for good?

It looked as if Joel was standing near water (you could see reflections) so I assumed he had dumped the body in the canal, quick clean way of disposal. I thought the fact that Joel deleted Ellie on his phone list was Corrie’s way of saying that he had ‘deleted’ her from life. I’d rather think of them as dead than alive in a lock up as sex slaves.

I thought Leanne was talking to a pic of Oliver - because she has now 'lost' both her sons - but it was a bit of an odd scene.

She still has annoying little Sam left !

I don't understand how Sarah/Bethany (they merge into one) mentioned Ellie talking to Craig to DeeDee and Joel in the cafe.
Surely it was a huge secret and neither Joel or Dee where in the loop and wouldn't have been expected to even know who Ellie was?

Does Craig still live in the flat above the hairdressers or did he move out when him and Faye broke up?

Oh yes of course! I never really connect the two of them for some reason. He is as much her son as Si was, but she doesn't take a lot of interest in him.

So Simon has gone. Comments earlier said the actor was sad to leave. Was he sacked from Corrie?

I read something about him moving into dance and choreography...so I assume he will be dancing or skating somewhere soon.
Is poor Craig living alone?

I found going back to the 1 hour long episode was hard going ! 😂

There is just not enough proper content to make an hour very gripping, or even enjoyable .

Agreed. I prefer the half hour episodes. Unless they're really gripping I just get bored and don't pay attention to the hour long ones

Unfortunately, cute little seven year old Curly Simon didn't grow up to be a polished adult actor. I feel he'd really outstayed his usefulness to the show, and his character was just "there". I don't think Alex Bain could rise to meet the challenges of difficult storylines.

The Joel storyline is very annoying. He could have just been a sleazy guy, shagging vulnerable young women while being in a relationship, then snapping during an argument and killing someone. Shocking but believable. Instead we have a psychopath who seems to have mo remorse and seems to be actively seeking new victims. There is no nuance or attempt to make it believable. Irritating.

Yeah this. Same with Chesney I think. Really cute little boy when he came in, but hasn't blossomed very well! 😬

Chesney is a good match with Gemma though.

Yeah true. I think Chesney suits the show better than Simon. Simon had nowhere else to go IMO. His character was a bit pointless.

I think Chesney and Gemma are better suited than Dev and Bernie.

Chesney is no great shakes but he has more to do than Simon ever did, as they gave him a partner and family. Simon just seemed sort of marooned there with no purpose, he should have had a head change years ago. (I could do without ever clapping eyes on Gemma again!)

I agree re Joel. Gone are the days of rounded villains. Now we just get an off the peg psychopath, we have no idea who he is, he's a renta-psycho. And the storyline is ruining the lovely DeeDee.
