Following on from the last thread, that started in late April 2024.

Joel's the baddie, and Lauren is still missing
Roy's a free man, and Carla and Swain are close to kissing
Will Bethany quit moaning, she does it all the time!
Sarah is still hot, but needs to slow down on the wine

Leanne's missing too, has that cult bloke kidnapped her then?
And where are the quads, does anyone ever see them?
Paul's still alive, hanging on and on in there
Cop Kit's a bit tasty but a bit annoying and hard to bear

Not much with the Platts or the Barlows or The Rovers
Carla's pub money being stolen by Jenny and Daisy has been glossed over
Adam still has his wacky hair that's a bit greasy
Daniel's still boring, yet the cutest girls to him come easy

The school bully storyline has eased off a bit
So Maria can chill - and Sarah can get off with Kit
I hope it's OK for me to start this new thread my friends
I wonder where we'll be at when this thread ends?

Hmm it takes hours to park at Warrington hospitals, never mind getting a bed or even a room

Ohh ..I don't want to see DeeDee looking fabulous in her wedding dress and than having it all ruined 😕.

Plus .I don't think I can cope with this story line being so close to being over .... but dragging on till September 😧😬😂!

Betsy and Joel have to come into contact at some point on the street soon .

Maybe she will be the one to tell on him ?

Also how do these random people just walk into hospital rooms? DD1 was ill when pregnant, admitted to a ward, in a room on her own due to being ill. I almost had to give fingerprints and a dna sample to get as far as a reception desk.

I wonder if Lauren will realise eventually that Joel is still grooming girls, and decide to tell everyone the truth.

@Allthehorsesintheworld I know, right? When MIL was in hospital the staff were begging us to come in and help them out with her (dementia), and we still had to wait ages and give potted biographies to get onto the ward.

The Lauren storyline is nonsensical. She was living in a squat with no money/food so I can see she might be tempted by Evil Joel’s plan to 'look after her'. But Bethany and DeeDee would certainly take her back to the Street and get her board and lodgings, so she has no reason not to shop Joel. But the storyline has to cause DeeDee maximum trauma on her wedding day so Joel can’t be found out yet, more months of nonsense to come.

Joel’s characterisation makes no sense. I’m not even going to try to work it out.

Maybe our hospital is very lax but when my OH was in hospital last year I walked onto the ward, said who I was looking for, and the nurse barely bothered to look up never mind check who I was!

My local hospital seems to let anyone walk in too. And there are absolutely no quiet corners for baddies to hide or have private chats!

No one would have a clue who enters the wards at my local hospital. The only exception was when one of my daughters was admitted at age 2. You had to be buzzed in that ward so it was pretty secure.
Even on the post natal wards you can literally just walk in at any time. I know this as after giving birth to my youngest a local takeaway turned up with a pizza delivery in the middle of the night for another mum,

I don't understand how the police confirmed it was Lauren by looking at CCTV but didn't see Joel.
Or why Bethany has stopped being suspicious of Joel.

Perhaps because Joel seems to be helping?

DeeDee has suspicions from time to time but seems to forget them too.

I would think they'd not see any reason why Joel shouldn't be at the Weatherfield hospital, he went to take Roy some stuff or something, theres a connection there and it's his local hospital. He didn't start actively obviously chasing Lauren until outside and you could still explain that away by running for a bus/trying to catch a friend to share a cab etc.

I am confused as to why Bethany no longer seems suspicous though, it was him helping that made her suspicious in the first place.

I wonder how long they will drag it on for?

Now Toyah is a detective. Maybe Joel and the Institute can implode together.

Its annoying me that last week Lauren was (quite rightly) running as far away as poss from Joel and not trusting him an inch, and now she’s defending him and living in his flat because he says he’ll look after her!

I thought Joel said it was his friend's flat, did I miss something?

He said that to Lauren, but I’m not sure whether DeeDee acted like it was his? But I’m not sure.

I hope this is the end of the Institute story. But Leanne will probably double think her way out of it.

I thought last night’s episode made it clearer why Lauren is having to depend on Joel as things are a tad awkward back on the Street. I suppose it isn’t surprising no one cares about Lauren as they barely know her.

I thought it was a friend’s flat, he told DeeDee he was clearing it out for a friend? And he then said to Lauren that DeeDee had been there before. So I have no idea.

Why the googling “what drugs end a pregnancy prematurely”? Is this because he wants her to lose the baby so there is no connection between them (DNA). She would then have no proof he hit her I suppose. Although them sleeping together doesn’t prove he hit her either. I probably shouldn’t bother to try to make sense of it.

Rowan will worm his way out of it by saying the institute ‘saved him’ from a life of crime & misery - isn’t it great!
I’m surprised an intelligent woman like DeeDee hasn’t noticed how dodgy Joel is acting, but then love is blind.
Can’t decide if I like Roy’s beard or not, I’m verging on liking it for some reason -( are beards allowed if you’re serving food? )

Joel googled “what drugs to bring on premature labour” not to end the pregnancy but I don’t know why he would google that either. Regards to the flat, I thought it was his own because he told Dee Dee he was moving stuff out and he brought a couple of boxes to hers

No I understand why Lauren couldn’t be on the street, (although you’d think Bethany and Sarah would have her in that bug flat). But I think she’d have chosen to run off to another squat or the streets rather than lean on Joel. It totally opposes all she said in the hospital to him. And I thought the street hostility was silly. Carla has been in as many dodgy predicaments as Lauren - and through poor choices, not due to dodgy parents like Lauren, so she ought to understand! And the woman in the wheelchair- Izzy? She wouldn’t much care about Roy or Lauren.

I think Josh’s google was to show he’s still a baddun and means her harm.

Why Ireland? I don’t think you can rock up there and expect free health care. It’s ridiculous all she needs is five minutes with Bethany and it will all come out.
