Following on from the last thread, that started in late April 2024.

Joel's the baddie, and Lauren is still missing
Roy's a free man, and Carla and Swain are close to kissing
Will Bethany quit moaning, she does it all the time!
Sarah is still hot, but needs to slow down on the wine

Leanne's missing too, has that cult bloke kidnapped her then?
And where are the quads, does anyone ever see them?
Paul's still alive, hanging on and on in there
Cop Kit's a bit tasty but a bit annoying and hard to bear

Not much with the Platts or the Barlows or The Rovers
Carla's pub money being stolen by Jenny and Daisy has been glossed over
Adam still has his wacky hair that's a bit greasy
Daniel's still boring, yet the cutest girls to him come easy

The school bully storyline has eased off a bit
So Maria can chill - and Sarah can get off with Kit
I hope it's OK for me to start this new thread my friends

It was Joel's flat. He's moved into DeeDee's but in the spare room that was Adams as DeeDee won't sleep either him until they're married. Not sure where Adam has gone though.

Starting to rate Lauren as an actress. I have favourites in Corrie that I just love watching because I really believe in their characters. Top of the list by a mile is Carla. I also love Jenny and Daisy. Really well developed characters.

People from the UK living in Ireland can access the same type of healthcare an Irish person can. But Irish people have to pay more in general...have to pay for a gp unless on low income or very young or older etc.
Maternity cover is free though you can pay more to go private if you wish.

That scene with Izzy was just bizarre. I don't remember them saying two words to each other so why Izzy?

I couldn't remember the exact wording but I assumed he was trying to end the pregnancy because she's only 5 months gone and if she goes into labour it's very unlikely the baby will survive. (Having said that, she looks very big for only 5 months.)

Surely it's the police who deserve the Street's anger, they arrested Roy with no real evidence. Lauren looks so young, traumatised and very pregnant and no-one has really asked her what actually happened. The Street is so full of nosey parkers surely someone would be interested!

Yep, its his flat I don't quite understand why he has lied that it is his friends. Perhaps he thought she wouldn't go for it if she knew it was his flat?

Now back in the past - Richard Hillman was a believable psychopath who went round murdering people who got in his way and was very well acted.

Just like Stephen, Joel is a totally unbelievable bad one who is constantly in panic mode (and acts badly) that it is a wonder he is managing to hoodwink his girlfriend and the police.

There is no real motive for Joel to be killing anyone except to cover his 'grooming' crimes. Unless there is a back story?

I don't think Joel is a murderer though. He's a nasty angry grooming sex fiend with a taste for young girls but I don't think he sees himself as "bad". Just takes what he wants.

Will DeeDee blame herself when he's (eventually) caught for not having sex with him?

Surely he thought Lauren was dead when he attacked her? How many other girls have there been?
And if Lauren dies if he gets his hands on the drugs he would be guilty of something.

She looks more than that but if she is, what is the point in him trying to bring on premature labour? She'll just have a prem baby rather than full term. Not that he is exactly a strategic mastermind, so...

I think he is doing it so the baby dies and it doesn't come out that it's his.
He has created a " perfect"fake life for himself and referred to this with Dee-Dee
Nothing and no one can stand in his way.

I cant remember much about his wife and child though, that's the puzzling bit.
Men like this see their families as extensions of themselves , to play out their toxic behaviours on, control etc

He can't kill Lauren whilst she's pregnant, a post mortem would establish the baby's DNA.

They would have no reason to do DNA test on the baby if Lauren died, and anyway how would they match it with Joel? It is only useful if Lauren accuses him and offers the baby's DNA as evidence.

The reason he can't kill Lauren at all, whether pregnant or not, is because she has set up the "Joel attacked/killed me" email to be sent to Swain in x number of weeks (4 weeks I think?).

Hopefully that means this storyline can only go on for another month!

This is the crux of it.
He can't kill her so he will try to trigger a premature birth and the baby dies.
Lauren wouldn't have any reason to suspect its anything other than a tragic loss.
He can't have anything stand in the way of his perfect pretend life with Dee-Dee

Honestly I don’t know how she has ended up at that flat it’s so dangerous. Roy offered to have her. She could’ve had a nice sit down with a cup of tea and just told the truth.

Roy said he forgave her, but I didn't hear him offer to let her stay, maybe I missed that? He's going to stay with Cathy so he wouldn't be there anyway.

I thought the idea was that Lauren had no choice, Carla slung her out and she was left only with Joel's offer.
