Following on from the last thread, that started in late April 2024.

Joel's the baddie, and Lauren is still missing
Roy's a free man, and Carla and Swain are close to kissing
Will Bethany quit moaning, she does it all the time!
Sarah is still hot, but needs to slow down on the wine

Leanne's missing too, has that cult bloke kidnapped her then?
And where are the quads, does anyone ever see them?
Paul's still alive, hanging on and on in there
Cop Kit's a bit tasty but a bit annoying and hard to bear

Not much with the Platts or the Barlows or The Rovers
Carla's pub money being stolen by Jenny and Daisy has been glossed over
Adam still has his wacky hair that's a bit greasy
Daniel's still boring, yet the cutest girls to him come easy

The school bully storyline has eased off a bit
So Maria can chill - and Sarah can get off with Kit
I hope it's OK for me to start this new thread my friends

I'm hoping it's the latter. Not least because it would be out of character for her to fall for it.

Is Arcraigy being set up for a fall out of the rozzers?

It looked as if the creepy talking Oliver-head freaked her out, so maybe Amy really was interested, but will have a different perspective from now on.

I think Amy was feeling a bit lonely, probably more affected by her mum leaving than she seemed (especially trying to look after Steve the half wit!) and she mentioned her gran too. So perhaps she was really interested. I think most people would be freaked out by AI Oliver wafting in front of them.

I quite like how he’s portraying Joel. Some of the bits he has to play are rather far fetched and probably difficult to act realistically, but I think it’s good so far. I’m really liking the storyline- much more than previous dodgy murderer plots. (the Carla plot is already annoying me!)

He’s doing that Stephen thing where he magically turns up whenever anything is being discussed!

As a big fan of listening in to other people's conversations...i would love to have access to the Rovers and Roys. Best ever gossip zones.

What was Joel even doing at the hospital when Lauren showed up? Stroke of luck that he was lurking in a side room at the exact moment she was leaving his bedside.

Watching on catch up - has anyone asked Joel why he has scratches on his face?

Yes. Dee Dee and Evelyn did. He said an angry client did it.

Corrie just don’t know when to stop. Not only have they loaded the already waterlogged Roy storyline with Carla committing ABH, but Betsy sees her and blackmails her. So now the daughter of the detective who wrongly imprisoned Roy is blackmailing Carla.

I am confused about what is/was going on in Joel’s mind. He was thrilled when Nathan was charged with Lauren’s murder, which would have made sense if Lauren was actually dead. But he knew she wasn't. He can’t have seriously thought she was never going to turn up. Now he’s crying because he’s going to be found out? Oh well, time to murder Bethany Platt to take his mind off things.

I find Kit far more menacingly sinister than Joel. I am enjoying him toying with PC Tinker who has kapok for brains.

Re Leanne and the Institute. I watched some Classic Corrie yesterday and yes she really has always been that stupid. I think now Amy has seen Pretend Ollie she will run a mile.

The Roy storyline is beyond dull and bored of Nina and her monotone voice at his bedside! Kit is really menacing. The male nurse reminds me of Craigie.

@Shellingbynight agree re. Kit and Craig...what is his motive for toying with him and getting him to admit to covering up for Emma etc?

Really don’t like the Nina. She’s been a main character for years now but I find her dull & boring, I’m sure she was brought in to be the complete opposite.

Just hope he doesn’t end up as Daisy’s next fling. Too predictable.
The Roy /Lauren storyline feels like it’s been going on forever - I’m forgetting what actually happened at the start.
And yes, Coronation St does like a blackmail storyline, they throw them in like they’re an everyday occurrence.

@KeepSmiling89 I think it's because Craig has something on him (the Gemma incident). And also Kit knows, but Craig does not yet know, that he planted evidence on Nathan. Given Nathan will presumably be released because Lauren is alive, that does raise questions about Kit arresting him. So it would help Kit if he has dirt on Craig, which let's face it isn't hard to get, Craig has repeatedly abused his position!

Kit did his Hmmm expression when it was mentioned that Craig had helped bring down the corrupt copper a couple of years back. Maybe some connection there?
I do love a Hmmm expression, even better when paired with index finger tapping on cheek.

I just can’t unsee christopher eccleston when I watch him. I think the lad will go far.

Perhaps that will be the thing, after Amy does a bit of subtle digging, that magically brings down the whole of the institute and sees the smarmy whateverhisnameis getting his comeuppance.

And poor Leanne will look on in anger to begin with, then hurt, then a bit of dismay that she's been duped then everything will go back to normal.

But in the meantime Nick and Toyah's bond has been growing stronger. Cue more drama.

Dee Dee asked him to take some of Roy’s things to the hospital for him, and then he saw Lauren heading in to see Roy so was waiting to grab her when she came out I think.

I lost sound while Craig and Kit were in the pub, heard Kit say zero for his drink but nothing after that, can anyone tell me what happened from then to the end?

Kit got ArCraigy trollied, whilst staying stone cold sober himself.

He's trying to get some dirt on him so he can control ArCraigy if necessary, ie when it's discovered the hair evidence at Nathans van makes no sense, because ArCraigy knows he leant on the shop owner Gemma stole from.
