Following on from the last thread, that started in late April 2024.

Joel's the baddie, and Lauren is still missing
Roy's a free man, and Carla and Swain are close to kissing
Will Bethany quit moaning, she does it all the time!
Sarah is still hot, but needs to slow down on the wine

Leanne's missing too, has that cult bloke kidnapped her then?
And where are the quads, does anyone ever see them?
Paul's still alive, hanging on and on in there
Cop Kit's a bit tasty but a bit annoying and hard to bear

Not much with the Platts or the Barlows or The Rovers
Carla's pub money being stolen by Jenny and Daisy has been glossed over
Adam still has his wacky hair that's a bit greasy
Daniel's still boring, yet the cutest girls to him come easy

The school bully storyline has eased off a bit
So Maria can chill - and Sarah can get off with Kit
I hope it's OK for me to start this new thread my friends

I wonder how she heard he was in hospital.

I thought Sarah and Maria lived in the same building, so why would Sarah buzz her in?

They don't live in the same building. Maria lives in the flat above the salon I think.

And it WAS Lauren using Bethany's credit card. Same coat as in the CCTV

So none of the actual relatives and close friends can go in to see Roy yet Lauren just wanders in unchallenged? 🙄
Well at least she’s not dead but how did she know Roy was there and it looks like she’s been using Bethany’s card, how’d she get that?

I think this is where the Joel connection may come in again. He gave "the coat" a weird look as it disappeared through the door.

I can't remember now. When there was the flashback showing Joel bashing someone, did we actually see Lauren's face, or just see Joel thumping someone in Lauren's flat?

Didn't she steal from her bag in the cafe and that's why Roy sacked her?

Maria and Gary live in Victoria Court. Craig and Faye did live above the salon but idk if Craig lives there on his own after Faye left the cobbles

Lauren had very strange orange eyebrows.

Yes Lauren went through Bethany's bag.

I assumed Joel told Lauren about Roy. He was in the hospital looking 'thoughtful'. How else would she know? Although why the hell he'd tell her, and let her visit him... anyway, let's not expect it to make sense. It didn't even make sense that Roy apparently dialled 999 before collapsing.

So it looks as if Amy really is taken in by the cult. What has happened to Adi, we have barely seen him. He'd talk sense into her.

Much as I love Dee Dee, she really is getting excessive screen time.

Where is Aadi and his sister? Why did Evelyn have to go and run the shop?

Toyah seems particularly calm & unfazed by her ( potential ) cancer diagnosis.

And about time Lauren showed up, this storyline has been dragging on a bit.

I thought Dee-Dee and whoever was with her found Roy, they explained that's why the ambulance came so fast.

Joel seemed to do a double take at the coat, I think he thinks Lauren is dead.

I wonder if Lauren went to the cafe and that's why Roy collapsed?
How did she know he was in hospital -she said " I'm so sorry Roy" speculation, I never read spoilers

He was clutching his left arm though, in one scene, and that can be a sign of an imminent heart attack.

Yes Toyah seems to have perked up. Crying over a lost pregnancy and being told she might have cancer one minute and up and out the next!

I thought the same afterwards about Lauren going to the cafe - and it was her who called the ambulance. Even in Corrie Roy would not have time to call an ambulance and unlock the door before neatly collapsing. (I initially thought she was saying 'sorry' because she knew he was in jail for killing her not-dead self.).

Maybe Joel thinks she's dead and she is 'in hiding' from him, but surely he would have had to dispose of the body. And if she's prepared to 'come forward' now, then why not when Roy was endlessly in jail? Is there any point in trying to make it make sense...

Yes re Toyah, very perky for someone waiting on confirmation of a cancer diagnosis.

I'm guessing we will have another flashback episode that explains everything

You can tell Maureen Lipman is a cut ( many cuts) above the acting average , her timing is impeccable, her character completely believable. Anyone seen her in Plebs? So different and bloody hilarious.

I agree Maureen Lipman is great in the role. It's a shame she doesn't get better material but despite that she is a cut above. There used to be so many good older cast members but they are thin on the ground nowadays.

DH is always saying he hates Corrie, but still watches anyway. He'll be proper peeved when I tell him he doesn't have to sit through it tonight.

No spoilers from me ever. For sone reason it cut off last night so I went to see if it was up there and watched it in bed.
