Following on from the last thread, that started in late April 2024.

Joel's the baddie, and Lauren is still missing
Roy's a free man, and Carla and Swain are close to kissing
Will Bethany quit moaning, she does it all the time!
Sarah is still hot, but needs to slow down on the wine

Leanne's missing too, has that cult bloke kidnapped her then?
And where are the quads, does anyone ever see them?
Paul's still alive, hanging on and on in there
Cop Kit's a bit tasty but a bit annoying and hard to bear

Not much with the Platts or the Barlows or The Rovers
Carla's pub money being stolen by Jenny and Daisy has been glossed over
Adam still has his wacky hair that's a bit greasy
Daniel's still boring, yet the cutest girls to him come easy

The school bully storyline has eased off a bit
So Maria can chill - and Sarah can get off with Kit
I hope it's OK for me to start this new thread my friends
I wonder where we'll be at when this thread ends? Smile

@lollipoprainbow I think he is similar colouring to his mum Katie. Brown hair and blue eyes. Kit has brown eyes and a darker skin tone.
Poor old Chesney. He was punching with Katie but doesn’t deserve to be stuck with one expression Gemma till death do us part. He’s a decent chap.

I think all the family need to be axed in the near future apart from Bernie. I like Paul too but obviously his days are numbered.

PiggieWig · 29/06/2024 11:18

But Bernie needs someone to mother hen to make up for her inadequacy when her kids were small, so axing the Winter-Browns doesn’t really work

VoteHappy · 29/06/2024 11:58

Kits face went from neutral to glowering as he walked away.
I think he is going to make Bernie "pay" for abandoning him particularly as his Mum has died.
I think Baddie and eurgh no not remotely attractive .
Ronnie on the other hand 😘

Joseph looks like kit could be his dad v similar looking !

That would be a novel one, so Kit would be Joseph’s dad AND uncle…

I am sure at some point George said that there was a mortgage on the house which he paid from his wages in the business, the implication was that it wasn't part of the estate. And yes the will legal wasn't so the story is nonsense, plus if i was Glenda I would be much more pissed at Audrey, a stranger to her, being left 80k.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/06/2024 19:37

I’m on Glenda’s side on this one. Why is she being demonized for wanting and fighting for her fair share.

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 29/06/2024 23:53

i feel Glenda has been let down by her dad but surely this will have been raised years ago when Archie S passed.
One sibling gets everything bar Audrey’s share. Has Glenda not considered this unfair previously and broached the subject with her brother?
George needs to acknowledge her feelings properly. I like both characters but feel George needs to accept the unfairness of the situation.
Ideally Glenda will dispute should have been started years ago but legally she can still pursue it. George could get the estate valued and make an offer to Glenda. I don’t think she wants to take him to the cleaners. I think he should give her something even if it’s only to avoid legal costs. Maybe she could live rent free in the house and he could give her some cash for her business.
Michael isn’t being supportive either. I hope she doesn’t take him back in the future.
@PiggieWig I see what you mean. Bernie could focus on Kit maybe? Has he said if he has a partner or children. I can’t remember. Thinking he might be a good match for Sarah Platt if he’s not attached. I can see Daisy making a play for him too.

George and Glendas father can leave his money to whoever he likes, there is no such thing as a " share"
Isn't it because she is terrible with money?
It's been mentioned few times.

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 30/06/2024 20:25

@VoteHappy - of course Archie could leave whatever to whoever.
A lot of people split assets and cash equals between family members though. Of course Glenda will see the situation as unfair. One child gets the majority, a friend gets a large cash sum but the other child gets absolutely nothing,

familyissues12345 · 30/06/2024 20:53

Wasn't there something about Archie leaving another Will that stated she was to inherit? The one that Todd was trying to hide?

Shellingbynight · 30/06/2024 22:16

But if Glenda saw not being left anything in Archie's Will as unfair, why hadn't she fallen out with George at the time of Archie's death? She only now sees it unfair because of the newly discovered, never signed, Will, which does not entitle her to anything.

It is a bafflingly shite storyline which is going round in ever decreasing circles, I used to like Glenda but she is being a total PITA.

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 30/06/2024 23:37

I agree that Glenda should have done something initially. Surely she thought it odd and unfair when her father passed and she got nothing.
Unless she accepted things based on her belief that Archie wanted it that way. When she found out about the unsigned will she then had a change of heart.
Makes you wonder how many people would. ‘do a George’ in the same situation. I couldnt do it to my siblings if I was the sole beneficiary in the same circumstances. I’m more likely to be in Glenda’s position considering the dynamics in my family. Maybe this is why I’m sympathetic to her situation.

Yes, most people would query it straight away

If George is paying mortgage on house she can't just claim it?

suburburban · 01/07/2024 07:38

Where did she live when Rovers was closed

VoteHappy · 01/07/2024 08:34

I checked back

Glenda wants George to give her a loan to fund Little Big Shotz
When he isn't happy she suggests a bank loan but then gets George to look over her accounts and he discovers she's in a pretty bad way moneywise and wouldn't get a loan plus has no way of paying it back.
Todd accidentally let's slip about the unsigned will and she feels entitled to half of it.
So it seems initially she accepted that George was handed the business.
One thing is that she might not want to have been tied down to running an undertakers and Mr Shuttleworth didn't want to her involved as she would run the business into the ground -that's the write up interpretation btw.
I think George feels a responsibility to keeping his father's business running so I don't think he should just hand over half.
Adam Barlow has already told Glenda she's on a hiding to nothing, no doubt she will bully George ...

Only one episode this week…

Shellingbynight · 01/07/2024 08:58

I felt quite relieved when I read your post @FeltCarrot only one to get through😄

Thank you for the summary @VoteHappy It seems like Archie realised Glenda could not cope with a big chunk of money and would risk losing house/business. I do think George has mentioned a mortgage on the house? Which Glenda would not be able to pay.

Only one episode this week…

Is there? Just tonight’s at 9pm?

FeltCarrot · 01/07/2024 10:36

Reading one of the weekend magazines it looked like football on tonight and tomorrow.
Have just checked TV guide and it is indeed on tonight!

VoteHappy · 01/07/2024 10:56

@Shellingbynight
Yes that was my take on it .
Dug a bit further, she was left cash and a dining table in Archies will plus George gave her 22K to settle the issue which she then decided to use to sue him
The Little Big Shotz accounts showed she was haemorrhaging money not making it, plus what did she do with her cruise ship wages? She would have no bills or overheads
What is she spending it on ?
#TeamGeorge

FeltCarrot · 01/07/2024 11:38

Did Glenda actually exist (and George for that matter) back when Archie was still around? Corrie do have a habit of rewriting history after all!
Surely Glenda would have kicked up a stink when Audrey was left £80k and her nothing.

Different to guides seem to say different things (I’ve been checking on my Readly app!) All football dependent.

Hopefully @JellyBeanFactory has the correct schedule.

I have been musing on the Joel situation, and wondering what happened a year ago, to make him distance himself from his parents.

Could this be leading to Joel being blackmailed/coerced by Harvey, and him somehow being rehabilitated, and staying in the Street, therefore giving DeeDee her happy ever after?

He could go work with, or for, Adam, and DeeDee.
