Following on from the last thread, that started in late April 2024.

Joel's the baddie, and Lauren is still missing
Roy's a free man, and Carla and Swain are close to kissing
Will Bethany quit moaning, she does it all the time!
Sarah is still hot, but needs to slow down on the wine

Leanne's missing too, has that cult bloke kidnapped her then?
And where are the quads, does anyone ever see them?
Paul's still alive, hanging on and on in there
Cop Kit's a bit tasty but a bit annoying and hard to bear

Not much with the Platts or the Barlows or The Rovers
Carla's pub money being stolen by Jenny and Daisy has been glossed over
Adam still has his wacky hair that's a bit greasy
Daniel's still boring, yet the cutest girls to him come easy

The school bully storyline has eased off a bit
So Maria can chill - and Sarah can get off with Kit
I hope it's OK for me to start this new thread my friends
I wonder where we'll be at when this thread ends? Smile

Awww no, please don’t comment on Sam’s weight. It’s unfair and unnecessary. It’s the same with Sue Clever above.

Where did anyone mention Sam's weight?? Confused

Sam Aston aka Ches. I do get confused when people use real names not character!

Deadringer · 21/06/2024 16:28

That was definitely a council house, I remember some sort of faff about Chesney living there when he wasn't on the rent book, it did get sorted out with the council though. I don't know where the dodgy landlord came from, but i agree that he is planning on turfing them out, hopefully Gemma will receive a letter offering them a massive house (somewhere miles away) and thousands in benefits back pay. Well, we can dream.

AmusedMaker · 21/06/2024 16:29

I’m enjoying the institute storyline, Leanne is playing the brainwashed victim so well, and Rowan is spot on as the manipulative creep.

Not at all interested in the Abi, Bethany, Cory, storyline. Just find it all a bit boring.

AmusedMaker · 21/06/2024 07:28

Well exactly - a family on low income with 5 children in a tiny house? surely they’d be on the council waiting list?
I’m never sure if those houses have 3 bedrooms or not? they look the typical 2 up 2 down.
Where does everyone sleep?

And doesn't Bernie sleep there too at times

Wouldn't Gemma be permanently taking the Quads to the loo and moaning about lack of toilet facilities and space

suburburban · 21/06/2024 17:09

It was definitely a council house when the Battersbys were there

GrandTheftWalrus · 21/06/2024 20:58

Surely they'd get a fuckton in benefits with having 5 kids?

Getupat8amnow · 21/06/2024 21:00

Agreed, on Classic Corrie Chesney’s house just had the council round about the bath coming through the ceiling. Once again the writers change history i.e. the house is owned by a buy to let landlord when in fact it has always been a council house. They want an ISSUE - no fault eviction - so changed the house history. This annoys me, they think the audience is stupid.

MichaelAndEagle · 21/06/2024 22:01

They've had to change it from a council house and hope we don't notice because if it was council they'd have been rehoused due to overcrowding.

PurplePanda1 · 21/06/2024 22:10

Do we think they are getting rid of Ches, Gemma and the kids?

Bernie would probably move in permanently with Dev, she’s the best one out of the family anyway.

eggandonion · 21/06/2024 22:26

No. Paul's life insurance or some other unlikely source will fund buying the house.

EachandEveryone · 21/06/2024 22:28

And they will do nothing to modernise it

AmusedMaker · 22/06/2024 08:32

No. Paul's life insurance or some other unlikely source will fund buying the house

yep.
or Gemma will start a ‘go fund me’ account.

FeltCarrot · 22/06/2024 08:43

Number 5 is privately owned.

I remember it being owned by the council when the Battersbys were there. Scriptwriters changing things!
Even if it was always private, how come no one, especially DeeDee advise they go to the council? I know social housing is short supply, but low income, large family, about to be evicted through no fault of their own screams priority housing need to me.

FeltCarrot · 22/06/2024 10:04

Whilst I agree that the scriptwriters change storylines to suit (baby Rose a case in point), I had a vague memory that No.5 was privately owned. It’s not a recent plot device. An article in the Manchester Evening News whereabouts viewers complaining about where everyone sleeps in 2020 mentions an unknown landlord.
I obviously have too much time on my hands this morning! 😂😂

Shellingbynight · 22/06/2024 10:15

As the link shows, the house was bought by the council in the late 90s but by 2011 it was again privately owned. If Gemma goes to the council I guess the best they could hope for is being rehoused miles away, I would not object to that, fingers crossed that is where the story is heading 😄 But being Corrie it's more likely that Posh Nan will buy the house. Which will still be far too small for them.

I only watched half an hour of Corrie this week and even that made me want to gouge my eyes out.

I'm really hoping that is the end of the deepfake storyline but I'm sure Abi will find out Kev is keeping something from her and have the obligatory screaming match.

I'm beginning to feel sorry for Nick. No one deserves Leanne.

Allthehorsesintheworld · 22/06/2024 10:28

I wonder how many takes are needed when Jane Danson has to say (serious face) I need to do an upload. Such a stupid line, I’d be corpsing every time.

plimbow · 22/06/2024 11:03

Nick does misery exceedingly well, in a permanent sort of way.

ajandjjmum · 22/06/2024 11:22

Nick and Toyah seem far more suited that Nick and Leanne.

Shellingbynight · 22/06/2024 11:30

Yes Nick has a sad crumpled look, like he expects nothing other than misery (which is for the best if you live with Leanne). I agree he'd work better with Toyah - we'll probably get the chance to find out soon!

plimbow · 22/06/2024 12:07

Nick needs to be careful, Toyah's not averse to a bit of murder.

Oh aye 😀

Just to liven things up a bit 🥺

Rowan can go an ( see what I did there ) disappear up his own institute 😬

Yes they never mention realistic solutions and wouldn't they want somewhere bigger in the first place

AmusedMaker · 22/06/2024 12:53

I like nice Cassie. Hope she’s being genuine with helping Ken and not plotting some evil scheme to get his money.
And agree, it does sound silly when Leanne stomps off saying ‘I need an upload’ - in the way some people would say ‘I need a fag’ - like it’s completely normal.
