My fave show and I thought this one was really great

Chaney · 08/05/2024 22:33

Loved it. Very creepy.

gettingolderbutcooler · 08/05/2024 22:34

Are these brand new ones?

motherbear43 · 08/05/2024 22:34

But it made no sense lol. How did they get the clones

A new one?! It’s the best written show on tv maybe ever. Didn’t know there was another season.

Yes the final series

Loved it right up until it went a bit Dr who, not so much after that.

But so good to have it back. They are a great writing duo. Wilma Dickshow, brilliant 😁

crochetmonkey74 · 08/05/2024 22:35

Yes season nine and the final one
They are also doing a live show in the west end in January!

motherbear43 · 08/05/2024 22:36

I loved the LOG reference too (breast pinch)

Thank you! I’m going to step away so I don’t read any spoilers. I’ll be back!

Yes 😁 thought Wilma was morphing into Pauline at times 😁

PinkFizz1 · 09/05/2024 08:30

Did anyone spot the hare? I’m always on the lookout for it, couldn’t see it in this episode.

OiGetOff · 09/05/2024 09:15

What a clever episode (as per, admittedly). Loved it!

EsmaCannonball · 09/05/2024 11:52

I loved it, but I didn't realise it was on until I saw this thread. Considering that it is one of the best things in television and probably the most inventive programme the BBC has made in years, they are really bad at promoting it.

Allthehorsesintheworld · 09/05/2024 12:47

Steve Pemberton has been my secret crush for years but after seeing him in drag, Steve I fear we can never be. 💔
He and Reece Shearsmith are geniuses.

Ginmonkeyagain · 09/05/2024 13:13

It was interesting spikey on the notions of allyship and expectations of support and empathy between groups with shared characteristics.

Willma was an entertainingly unsympathetic character.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/05/2024 17:55

Ah fab was looking for a thread

Missed it was on last night so have downloaded e1

And set planner for 2 next week

Motherpro · 09/05/2024 18:13

I had no idea the new series was out! Thank you for this thread, it would have completely passed me by otherwise and I bloody love it!!

InMySpareTime · 09/05/2024 18:50

I didn't see the hare, but was intrigued about the R2D2 in the bag and how he knew where it had been.

dreaaamm · 09/05/2024 20:04

I didn't think it was one of their best.

It didn't really hang together because it made no sense as both sides were 'disruptors' really. The Mark Bonnar character insisting the bag was searched was the most disruptive of all.

In one sense, the disruptors would have been whoever was in the minority - given the man with the bag and gas masks said his only objective was to cause a conflict.

and the willingness with which the surviving characters just accepted the clones was downright odd.

I enjoyed the closed environment with a few characters quickly establihsed but thought the overall plot was weak.

hope the remainder of the series are better.

dreaaamm · 09/05/2024 20:05

@InMySpareTime

about the R2D2 in the bag and how he knew where it had been.

He nearly vomited when he looked in the bag so I inferred it was covered with shit and smelt.

motherbear43 · 09/05/2024 23:09

I have literally only just realised that Matthew Kelly was the guy with the headphones. That's wild.

I really enjoyed it, the way they can set up characters so quickly, helped by fantastic actors of course! I thought it was chilling.

With regards to the survivors accepting the clones, with the clues given I thought Jerry was already a clone, his wife asking what happened to him as he used to be a firebrand, on the picket line etc then, when the gas started, saying don't worry it doesn't hurt, pointing to the original Jerry ending up in a body bag with clone Jerry stepping in.

My secret crush too , but even after seeing him in "Dead Funny" in a sky blue tracksuit I haven't been put off Grin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 10/05/2024 15:23

I had to go onto "Den of Geek" to see what the Jeff it was about and I'm still none the wiser .

Is there a horror film that has a similar theme ?

(Bit like "Mr King" was on the lines of The Wicker Man)
