Anyone just watched? Not sure what I made of that!

I didn’t notice the missing porch but did think the dog was too stiff too soon when it went in the bin (having dealt with burying dead pets that died of natural causes, honest)!

Iamiams · 23/05/2024 11:23

Also a shame the dog didn’t get a credit.

Adrian Scarborough. Yes, very versatile actor.

I just kept thinking at the beginning that the neighbours didn't have a porch (she said put the tupperware in the porch if we aren't in)

Unimportant, but I think I get fixated by details when I'm watching this.

Didn't spot the Hare, but I'm guessing it must have been somewhere near the end when you saw 'inside number 9' for the first time.

the word porch seems to have had its definition slightly changed from the 80s - when I was growing up, a porch would definitely have been the equivalent to a cheap conservatory - not the little area at the front door.

This series feels a bit lazy.

Really?? I think it's been brilliant

Supersimkin2 · 23/05/2024 11:28

Loved it and didn’t get the twist.

Same!

Yes I feel like such a nitpicker sometimes (sorry Reece and Steve, if you're reading) but I also noticed that the dog was stiff immediately after being ran over. Wouldn't be the case at all.

Also, Reece wheels the bin, turns it and faces the bin handles in over. I always think this is shitty and face them out over, ready to be grabbed by the bin men. (Appreciate he did this to show the '9' door number)

I'm interested to know if the fox activity was captured naturally, or if they employed some sort of fox actors / stunt foxes (I am aware I now sound mad, but hopefully you all know what I mean!)

Do they still do the podcast?

@QuiltedHippo hope your DH enjoys his Xmas present. It was me that mentioned it last week. I'd love to go, but can't face the journey to London. Will have to hope that they tour with it, as its sure to go down a storm.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 23/05/2024 11:43

Also, I could see so many potential AIBU's in this episode. For example:

"AIBU to LTB after pissed DH spilled wine on the futon and chain sawed it to bits"

And many other possible 'CF Neighbour' threads.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/05/2024 12:41

Yes I thought that with the dog , it should've been more floppy .
Though when our cat was euthanised the Vet did warn me they go into rigor quite quickly .

Grin my DD said "Ooh Actor Fox........ooh another Actor Fox"

TobiasForgesContactLense · 23/05/2024 13:56

The was only shown at the end on a console table just inside no 9 when the Crime scenes person was photographing the blood.

Notreat · 23/05/2024 16:25

They accepted them because they were also clones

TheMarzipanDildo · 23/05/2024 17:39

I think the stiff dog was on purpose. I seem to remember them talking on something about having to make the dead dog in A Quiet Night In look fake so they didn’t get told off by animal rights activists.

TheMarzipanDildo · 23/05/2024 17:40

(Obviously it was fake!)

Mitsky · 23/05/2024 20:17

They are master storytellers, it’s quite incredible what they’ve achieved with inside no.9. I am in awe of their writing.

I really hope it is studied in film school!

RobinGet · 23/05/2024 20:31

I didn’t think much of this episode - all a bit formulaic with the nosy neighbours, learner driver + dog, Damon arriving back home just as someone had got into his house etc. I still think it’s a wonderful series in general, but this particular episode disappointed me.

I thought it might be something like this.

OutOfTheHouse · 23/05/2024 21:49

I did sigh when it was door camera footage but I really liked this one. The woman over the road was exactly like her character in Mum.

Sleepismyfavourite · 24/05/2024 09:00

I enjoyed episode 3 more than the other two. So far this series & the series before haven’t reached the heights of some of the earlier episodes. I’m thinking of episodes like Tom & Gerri, 12 days of Christine, Diddle Diddle Dumpling & Bernie Clifton’s dressing room. I think perhaps that’s partly why they won’t to bow out after this series to avoid the quality deteriorating.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/05/2024 09:49

Series 9 seems the logical one to end on ( and they;re doing their live shoes early next year )
I didn't get on with Series 6 except for Lip Servive . The other episodes (Wuthering Heist/Simon Says//Hurry Up and Wait/How Do You Plead/ Last Night of the Proms ) I have rewatched but still don;t "get"
But they bounced back with Series 7 so hopefully Series 9 will pick up ?

I love 12 Days , there is not a wasted word or any part you think "Nah they could've cut that bit" ( it took me going onto Den of Geek to see that each month was a year Blush )

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/05/2024 09:51

Oh and I hated 3x3 on first view but its one of my favourites now after I re-watched (lots ) and it made sense .

Iamiams · 24/05/2024 09:53

Which was the one that was a murder at a country house that kept going backwards in time? That was very clever. I think it was about moving in/out.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/05/2024 09:58

That's "Once Removed " it is really clever Grin

And Nick Moran , bonus !

Iamiams · 24/05/2024 10:03

Thank you! I will try and find it to watch again.

Sleepismyfavourite · 24/05/2024 10:09

Of course, I’m such a wally, series 9 is definitely the logical series to end on! You’re totally right @70isaLimitNotaTarget series 6 is harder to get on with but series 7 had some good episodes- particularly Wise Owl.
