Following on from the last thread.

We're currently up to where Roy has been arrested for (allegedly) killing Lauren, and Roy's dog has been stolen and the thieves are saying the dog won't be returned until Roy admits his guilt.

Leanne is being drawn into a weird cult.

Toyah is arrested for criminal damage for attacking someone's car. (Someone who thinks Roy buried Lauren in the park!) And she doesn't seem quite herself. What is wrong with her?

Joel and DeeDee are on-again-off-again ...

I'm sure there's a few more bits and bobs going on, but there's plenty of space on this thread (and time) to catch up.

After tonight's episode I felt like it's all turning into a bit of a mess.
I see what they are trying to do, messing with timelines and altering perspective, but this is Corrie not the National Theatre and it seems a bit silly.

We are not much further forward but the dreaded necklace turned up. Lots of tedious exposition about Swain's backstory - is now really the time for that? But we know she's 2.5 years out of a bereavement so she's ready for her next relationship. And she had pretty poor judgment on a previous case.

I didn't think Kit planted the USBs - Nathan's face looked like 'it's a fair cop' rather than 'I'm being fitted up'. I think if Kit was going to plant something it would be the hairband. At least he remembered his gloves.

I think his colleagues would call him Chris.

My cousin is a Chris.
I spend more time than necessary on baby name threads where Kit and Topher are bandied about.
I think Chris is more usual.

I suppose if you introduce yourself as Kit, that is what you get called. My neighbour's grandson is called Kit, which I thought was odd when I first heard it. Better than Zodiac though 😄

I knew a Christina shortened to Kit with a granddaughter called Kitty.

Can't wait for this Lauren storyline to be over! And for Roy to be freed again.

Agree with a pp that it's odd that they have this Swain storyline going on! With the issues with daughter and all. Weird!

Perhaps the errant daughter will end up working in the factreh when DS Swain moves into the street (speculation not spoiler) and becomes bessie mates with Carla. Then we can have 3 coppers on hand, what with ar Craigy and Kit milling about as well.

I looked for the baggy with the scrunchie in it when Sarah gets out of Kits car, she is putting her hand in her pocket as she gets out but I am not convinced she has it.

He finds the USB's, and it looked like he was already there at the builders yard before either Nathan or Sarah could call the police... so he was about to do something anyway? He lurks round the back of the van AFTER finding teh USB's and calling it in... mm!

I think he wants Nathan but for some other reason.

That is exactly what it looks like, and Corrie aren't exactly subtle nowadays so that is probably what will happen! The scenes with Carla and Swain having a heart to heart felt so forced. No doubt the daughter will be working at the factory within six weeks. And Sarah definitely needs a new man, she's been on her own at least a fortnight.

It was good to see some actual policing being done, rather than Swain/Craigy picking on the nearest convenient neighbour to imprison.

I thought exactly the same. Also convenient that Swain's daughter is studying a textile course. Definite working in the factory within the month.
Not really sure an on duty police woman would welcome a member of the public getting into her car.

If the daughter is doing the same course as Nina did she could do Laurens hours in the cafe. People never seem to follow a career path.
Does Linda work or is she just wealthy?

Good detective work! I think the car must be Joel's, not that we have ever seen his car. We didn't even know Bernie had a car till last week!

I think the last time we saw Joel was Friday? He was telling DeeDee to persevere with the text/linguist expert for Roy's defence.

Oh yes that's right, when he did that weird Tom Cruise jumping up at the sofa thing. That made me more suspicious than anything else with him. 😂

He would certainly have a 'nice' car doing his job.

My working theory (based on nothing other than my overactive imagination!) is that he's trying to get closer to DeeDee as a cover story and that's why he was so insistent about getting back with her a few weeks ago. I think he wants to be close to the street because of an agenda which I'm assuming is Lauren related. Being with DeeDee gives him access to what she's got on Roy etc.

I've also not given up on my side theory of Rowan being involved!

I think everything is a red herring at the moment though !

The last time we saw that many cars in Corrie street , was when Maria was doing her clean air campaign.....and all these cars suddenly appeared ....never to be seen again when the storyline finished !!
