I love this quote from Mark Manson "the subtle art of nor giving a fuxk

We all have someone or something to blame for how shitty our life is and It’s ok to blame these things for a while. But YOU are responsible for how you feel about those things. You are responsible for your emotions. Even in extreme cases of sorrow and tragedy. It is up to you to find a way to cope. And find a way to be happy again. I know that sounds cold but that’s the reality.

I think all of the men and some of the women on MAFS need to take it on board!

Sorry for your loss @browneyes77 cancer is a bitch (1st hand current experience) remember all the good times

You sound like my kinda person 👍😅

Gobbling off crème eggs ✔️
Not sharing with kids ✔️✔️
Being a fellow lover of crème eggs ✔️✔️✔️

How I resisted them this Easter is beyond me. I was in McDonald’s on Sunday getting my son some food and I saw the Crème egg McFlurry ( the only one I will buy without fail each year) and my mouth was watering but the thought of me still not able to fit into my now tight clothes and for my holiday ( not the fact my weight gain is screwing up my knee, lol) held me back from ordering it 😅

Gobbling off creme eggs 😂

Hi all by the way- I've been watching & following from near the start. This thread entertains me on the daily!

One of my best friends of 42 years lost her battle with cancer at the weekend, so my diet has completely gone out of the window and the wine is in full flow 😞

I'm sorry. Sending you love and hugs. 😘

I haven't got back on track after losing my gran in December. Do what you need to my dear. x

Lucinda's gaff is going to be amazing. I just know it.

I know! It's such a shame we never got to see them in it...

Romeiswheretheheartis · 16/04/2024 21:39

What sort of operation did Lauren have? She had no visible evidence of any surgery.

Abitboring · 16/04/2024 21:42

Whoever said Timothy had a huge back story....is this from the internet or the AUS edit? Does it fall under spoilers? Because I wanna know but not Google myself.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 16/04/2024 21:46

I've read Timothy's backstory from googling him. I doubt it was mentioned in the Aus edit. He's someone I'd definitely steer clear from.

Abitboring · 16/04/2024 21:49

Well I couldn't stop myself from googling. I guess ppl refer to something in his 30s. It doesn't explain to me the way he is, which must come from childhood.

MaggieFS · 16/04/2024 21:52

Sorry I'm a bit behind, but OMG, Tim's flat. Brings it back to the q of how much they are back and forth... he can't have left it like that nine weeks ago? Plus the dogs won't have been left alone.

MaggieFS · 16/04/2024 21:55

Ha. Love that Eden has one of the those orange caution extra heavy bag tags.

icelollycraving · 16/04/2024 22:01

Evening Mafs gang.
I feel sad for Lucinda and Tim. Home stay came at the wrong time. I think he needed a bit more fun first. There are elements of him that remind me of my dh. He is repressed and switches off to internalise stuff.
Im glad she has had enough. His flat was a fucking tip and he made her so unwelcome. When she was having to get in that shitty bed with the case still on it and the dogs, I found that actually quite heartbreaking. He had no room for someone, literally and emotionally.
The fear has got him. When his friend said he was a nurturer or whatever it was, I think that was the tipping point. The sight of her shoving some kind of cured meat in her mouth as he stomped off made me smile.
I don’t buy Johno and Lauren. I love her but she greeted him like a friend, not a lover. I think they are just playing along. I hope I’m not right but it didn’t ring true.

TinselAngel · 16/04/2024 22:27

Is it compulsory in Australia for all meals to consist of snacks on a board?

mcmen05 · 16/04/2024 22:32

Poor Lucinda, she really does deserve a nice man.
Tim never fancied her and kept annoying Jack about exactly what he is doing giving Lucinda hope and then been a prick shouting.

Rummikub · 16/04/2024 22:34

Typical transference!

WhisperGold · 16/04/2024 22:36

@Itsrainingoverhere We also didn't get to see what pissed Andi off about Richie at first. I couldn't understand why she was so upset until I read about it.

Thanks all.

My friend had just turned 46. We have been best friends since we were 4 years old.

So it’s been a tough few days. Thank you for being so supportive 🥰

You know I thought that?

It made me want to snack, so I grabbed some houmous, carrot batons, walkers french fries and fridge raiders and washed them down with wine.

Didn’t want to feel left out 😂

I love Lauren. Thank goodness for the seal of approval. I still find them quite an odd couple, but opposites attract. I really hope it works because they both seem decent people and could be good for each other.

Do they have gogglebox down under? Lauren would be amazing on that with her observations.

I'm pleased Lucinda is going to put herself first. She's been more than patient, Timothy needs a wodge of professional therapy.

Still surprised that Eden is so positive about the relationship. I don't like Jayden, I understand the principle of wanting to discuss it more and being frustrated when the other person shuts it down, but while they were at the beach, he didn't actually SAY anything else. I think it's getting pent up and he'll have a big outburst.

Looking forward to seeing Jack and Tori tomorrow.

TinselAngel · 16/04/2024 23:31

Agree Lauren had no signs of surgery, no bruising or anything, and she was wearing a sleeveless top! Was it pin hole surgery or something?

dapsnotplimsolls · 16/04/2024 23:35

Just caught up - poor Lucinda. Has he ever bothered to ask her how she's doing?

TinselAngel · 16/04/2024 23:43

Well, Tim's backstory explains the terrible tattoos.

dapsnotplimsolls · 16/04/2024 23:48

Sorry to hear your news OP.

Were I Lucinda, I'd have packed my case and left.

Yes - go home to my own place in Byron then told the producers I needed my own apartment in Sydney for the final episodes.

He talks about having respect for Lucinda but

  • he brings her to a filthy, untidy home. Could he not have arranged for someone to clean the place up, launder the sheets, take care of the plants etc in his absence?
  • he goes back to being the prickly, uncaring, aggressive, emotionally unintelligent person he was before - showing no sign of the "doting" person his homestay friend said he was. You could see from Lucinda's face at that description that she'd never seen that side of Tim
  • he stomps off shouting from the lovely picnic she arranged (it should have been him hosting. Food she arranged instead of the "chips" with some sort of gravy poured over that he'd given her
  • he leaves her in his apartment "for an hour" to have his time and space alone, only to "abandon" her there alone with his dogs for seven or more hours without contact while he spends time with a mate etc etc which was an incredibly rude way to treat anyone, let alone someone who he says he has utmost respect for.

I think even Lucinda's patience has run out because, as she says herself, she deserves more. I hope she says this at the next commitment ceremony and writes "Leave" - he doesn't deserve her. 🌹

I thought that - plus a full range of movement in her arm/shoulder with no visible discomfort. 🌹
