That’s just it! If his type walked in he’s soon perk up. I’m not denying that he might have some issues opening up but he’s taking the piss and now shouting at her and all that… sorry even if you find her too much or annoying there was no need to treat her so disrespectfully and shout at her…

He was v hurtful to Lucinda who has done her utmost to let him be himself.

browneyes77 · 16/04/2024 21:02

hoxtonbabe · 16/04/2024 20:56

So what the hell was the point of signing up to the show and say I’m not into all this emotional stuff. I mean that’s a given on MAFS.

Im livid on behalf of Lu because it’s been such a waste of time for her and she’s been so patient and he’s treating her like shit because she’s basically been patient and trying to support him.

Lucinda has been SO patient and understanding.

She’s basically been his therapist not his partner.

I get he’s had a lot of hurtful shit in his life, but so have other people. He shouldn’t be in this experiment if he hasn’t done that work on himself to make him properly open to a relationship and be able to give to a partner, and not just take. Because that’s what he is, a taker. Gives nothing back.

His behaviour at home stays was nothing short of fucking rude and disrespectful. And his excuses about being depleted are frankly boring the arse off me now. If he’s feeling emotionally depleted, how does he think poor Lucinda must feel?

I certainly wouldn’t have lasted as long as Lucinda and I’m pretty patient. I’d have told him to fuck off long ago. The woman is a bloody saint.

She’ll be writing leave this at the next commitment ceremony. And I don’t blame her. Enough is bloody enough.

Tori can accept misogynistic insults, body shaming and being pimped out, but she draws the line at being called a basic bitch!

Rummikub · 16/04/2024 21:00

Finally tori!

Lol.. I’m looking forward to Tori getting her comeuppance. I will even get my lentil chips treat to enjoy whilst I watch her squirm. Naturally I’d prefer if it was a box of crispy cremes but diet doesn’t allow for such things, lol

Rummikub · 16/04/2024 21:06

Over the last few days I have made my way through almost a full box of ten (yes 10) cream eggs. I’ve not even shared them with my dc.

season 5 episode 3 GIF by BBC Three

Yep. She’s definitely going now and I think he will too, but I’m really disappointed in him, his behaviour has really got to me because she has been the least confrontational, the most patient, most supportive, chilled and after all that he treats her like some two bit broad he met of the internet…

Bin him!!

CorylusAgain · 16/04/2024 21:07

Lucinda has been so dignified and true to herself.
But I'm glad she's reached her limit.

One of my best friends of 42 years lost her battle with cancer at the weekend, so my diet has completely gone out of the window and the wine is in full flow 😞

"Jayden is a pompous dickhead."

Totally agree.

@Itsrainingoverhere sorry I was hard on you.

Italiangreyhound · 16/04/2024 21:12

Timothy's home is like a student den.

I think Lucinda is finally realizing she needs more. She is pouring so much love, care and attention onto Timothy and it is like pouring water onto a dry piece of oasis! Some of it goes in, but some of it bounces off. And how exhausting for her to be doing that all the time.

You sound like my kinda person 👍😅

Gobbling off crème eggs ✔️
Not sharing with kids ✔️✔️
Being a fellow lover of crème eggs ✔️✔️✔️

How I resisted them this Easter is beyond me. I was in McDonald’s on Sunday getting my son some food and I saw the Crème egg McFlurry ( the only one I will buy without fail each year) and my mouth was watering but the thought of me still not able to fit into my now tight clothes and for my holiday ( not the fact my weight gain is screwing up my knee, lol) held me back from ordering it 😅

I commend you on your will power in the face of Creme egg McFlurry. I let myself have a mini one.

"I have believed for some time I am
in a DARVO relationship. I am now sat nearly crying. Because I can’t see that it’s not normal"

I am so sorry to hear this.

Sometimes things we see on telly or social media can trigger us, or prime us, to see things in our own life. The relationships area of Mumsnet has lots of threads you can read or start one of your own.

Bluetrews25 · 16/04/2024 21:20

I think we all need a group hug tonight.
<throws arms out wide>

Abitboring · 16/04/2024 21:23

Oh man, Lucinda has figured out Tim completely. I feel terrible for both of them. They are a poor match and T is in no state to go through this experiment. It's like he's doing therapy and everyone is watching. It's totally normal he'd feel emotionally drained because processing what he's processing is hard.

He's right though that Lucinda has a need to just talk all the time. Perhaps it would have been good to just enjoy some quiet time on the sofa together and watch netflix. But she needs to know his emotional state at all times which must be exhausting for most people.

She looked like she had puffy eyes from crying the night before the picnic. Tim's been a terrible host and there is no excuse for it. He abandoned her and it must have hurt her so much.

I'm sad for both of them. Lucinda is amazing and she's not getting nearly enough back from him.

Italiangreyhound · 16/04/2024 21:25

Timothy, why did you go on a programme to find a wife when at every turn you are finding it all so very hard. I do hope Lucinda finds a nice new person. She is coping with a 50 year old child.

Itsrainingoverhere you will always find help on Mumsnet. And just for the record it took me ages to see through Rich. Not because I am in a DARVO relationship but because I always try and see the best in people. I think as women we are conditioned to be nice to people!

What I finally noticed with Rich was that he ignored what Andrea said and talked over her, told her how she was feeling and told her what the problem with the relationship was (e.g. in his mind, her and not him).

Abitboring · 16/04/2024 21:27

Well I look forward to that disaster of a homestay of Tori and Jack. Who'd have thought that Jack has a whale lady friend, excuse me, client. Wasn't he the only who had only clients attend his wedding?

Does the client know he thinks she's a whale?
