Some will find it a spoiler and not want to know so don't reveal here.

Best just say where you read it, then those that do want to know can Google and find out for themselves.

I'm glad the social worker actually thought about a DNA test. Jacob went from zero to I have a Grandson in less time than it took him to run from God knows where in Holby to the hospital when Blake didn't actually say the baby was his.

Oh yeah, where did he run off to? 🤣 Pull over!... Legs it...

To?

bizzey · 25/03/2024 23:06

Let's just say ....Charlie was never going to go beyond 40 years ...

I don't get it?

JanglingJack · 25/03/2024 23:06

What a load of rubbish. A crap send off and I think it was more to do with BBC cutbacks rather than Charlie. Derek Thompson was once the highest paid actor on the payroll 400K+ per annum.

The flash backs were rubbish. They should have flashed back to when he was working with great actors - Brenda Fricker for starters!
Josh was a good shoe in, but Zoe was never anything major in the department.

As Amanda Mealing said - she wasn't asked. There was definitely something going on paywise because it was the shittest send off ever.

I think a lot of people would disagree with your comment about Zoe

FourLeggedBuckers · 25/03/2024 23:11

Zoe was a consultant and major character in the ED for the better part of a decade, including a few stints as clinical lead. She’s still a really popular character. I’m glad they chose SS over AM to return.

purpleme12 · 25/03/2024 23:13

I can't remember how it was left with Blake years ago when he was in the show
Does anyone remember how it was left with him?

FourLeggedBuckers · 25/03/2024 23:14

Also, I’ve been seeing an awful lot of really bad Casualty click bait “spoiler” articles lately. They’re absolute nonsense.

I’m not commenting on what the PP has seen - I don’t know what it is - but rumours are just that…

bizzey · 25/03/2024 23:23

I hope it is click bait rumours I have seen !

Re Blake...I vaguely remember that he got in with a bad crowd around the time he found out that Jacob was his dad .

Don't think it was connected though ..just a coincidence at the same time .

Think Elle took him and his brothers away to somewhere else to get away from the bad crowd .

Wonkypictureframe · 25/03/2024 23:36

Where IS Elle? Why is Jacob saying he’s the only relative the baby has? What about Blake’s mother, who would probably be very concerned indeed?

purpleme12 · 25/03/2024 23:39

Good point

AnImaginaryCat · 26/03/2024 06:22

Blake was a bit of a brat wasn't he? Had a bad-boy friends and kept ending up in ED. Jacob, back when he was a nurse, would always save the day while Elle could do no right. Until Blake killed(?) someone and Jacob saved the day while Elle could do no right.

Somewhere along the line Jacob found out he was Blake's father which had less affect on Blake than his mum working did.

Can't entirely recall why Elle suddenly left. Whether it was another job or Blake related escapes me. Maybe Elle caught whatever Charlie had and forgot she had a son?

Why do I have no idea who Elle is???

Wonkypictureframe · 26/03/2024 08:58

She’s Blake’s mother: she was a nurse for ages in the ED. Old friends with Jacob and then we all found out Jacob was Blake’s dad. Blake was very tedious.

EnglishSpringerSpanielMum · 26/03/2024 09:39

Wasn't Elle a doctor? Bit of tension between her and Connie and then they bonded over some miniatures from a hotel bedroom bar on some trip they had to do together.

Oh yes, I remember now. She was one of the Consultants wasn’t she? A tall lady with a lovey soothing voice?

Yes. She used to be in The Bill.

FourLeggedBuckers · 26/03/2024 11:00

A tall lady with a lovely soothing voice and a severe case of filial amnesia.

I’d forgotten all about her too, actually.

hoarahloux · 26/03/2024 12:44

Blake was a miserable little sod, always pouting away. Hope he's not coming back! I loved Elle though. That scene of her getting drunk with Connie is memorable!

EnglishSpringerSpanielMum · 26/03/2024 12:55

The actor who played Elle was in a really early mobile phone advert. I think it was for Orange - the future's bright, the future's orange.

purpleme12 · 26/03/2024 15:11

Wow that's impressive remembering! 🤣

I can't remember what I did last week, though!! 🤣

AnImaginaryCat · 26/03/2024 19:27

Elle aother so, who had a bit of rumpy pumpy with a paramedic (who I don't really recall being in Casualtyfor long). To avoid being caught in bed with the son by Elle, he climbed out the window and fell off a drain pipe.

There was another son. No recollection if he did anything.

She had three boys but Blake was the only one who became a regular. Apart from the aforementioned paramedic affair! The guy was called Jez and was openly bisexual which was a bit confusing for poor Iain.

Oh my god, yes. How did I get that wrong? Thinking of nurse Jacob of course.

Agreed, it makes much more sense for Zoe to return as she was more of a friend of Charlie's. I always found AM's character irritating, anyway.
