End of this plot arc. All rather predictable so far.

spiderlight · 07/09/2024 21:31

Christmas?!?! 😭

LIZS · 07/09/2024 22:05
Shock
spiderlight · 07/09/2024 22:24

Ah, ok - found the second episode on iPlayer now! 😆 Thank goodness for this thread! The ending was definitely a little bit Grey's!

MadamePeriwinkle · 07/09/2024 22:42

I must have dreamt it but I’m sure when Nicole had her 20 week scan they said she was having girl?!

Cavend · 07/09/2024 23:00

Oh my goodness, is anyone else annoyed at the coo-ing Faith does?

"Aahh, sweetheart . . . ."

In that syrupy voice, the actress must get tired of her tedious lines, the character is so boring, mind you so was Charlie. Charlie who never looked at anyone when he spoke to them, he just looked into the middle distance.

I quite like Ian though, he's flawed, rough, tough, compassionate and he has a nice smile.

I assumed Sophia was drunk or at least a heavy drinker, whilst I think Dylan is an alcoholic?
I was releaved the date did not go well.

Sophia looks like a schemer, as if she has a hidden agenda, i bet she wants to encourage Dylan to go back to the drink.
And "goodie 2 shoes" Faith, the recent druggie, interfered with the date, telling Dylan what to wear.

NorthernGnashers · 07/09/2024 23:16

Yeah,
Faith as the fashion police ! Grin
your life in their hands, remember . . .

I thought that too and assumed I'd mis-remembered.

If we're not doing a "surprise! Baby doesn't have Down syndrome!" story, which I thought was pretty definitively ruled out, could they not have put a little bit more effort into giving that newborn some DS characteristics? His face was only shown from that weird upward angle. I guess it wasn't confirmed either way but the consultant ages ago seemed pretty certain and Rosie seems entirely out of the picture. I'd kind of hate it if the child ended up not having DS and then the inevitable "Rosie wants her baby actually" story happened.

They did say that the baby had Down's.

Faith needs to get legal advice. School governors have no power to decide to impose suspensions.

Hellocatshome · 07/09/2024 23:47

Is Faith allowed to decide to stop resuscitation and call time of death?

It wasn’t just me then?!

True

Stevies face is fuller and they're hiding her from waist down. Is the actress pregnant?

Yes, I posted on here saying her face looked different and then tonight it dawned on me that she looked pregnant, plus she was holding stuff over her stomach, charts, papers etc.

Nomdejeur · 07/09/2024 23:56

We need another thread…

bizzey · 08/09/2024 00:01

Very flat ending .
Usually they ending a cliffhanger don't they ?

I thought Nicole was surprised when the other doctor said " it s a boy " ...so she was expecting a girl .

xxSideshowAuntSallyxx · 08/09/2024 06:23

Thought it was a weird couple of episodes.

what was with the girl being flown to the UK for surgery, there didn't look like there was anything seriously enough wrong with her. Also her mother looked the same age if not younger than her, bad casting. The actual story seemed to be half arsed and added nothing. Other than to make Siobhan be told she runs a good ship. Maybe she could get together with the armed cop in charge, he seemed quite nice unlike Richard.

surprise surprise she came back for the baby, how cruel, she put Nicole through hell, had Nicole done what she wanted there would be no baby but up she rocks now claiming a change of heart.

I like Iain, he's the most believable character in the show.

I assumed the teenage girl story was a direct rip-off of Malala Yusufzai's. The leg injury was a serious one, given that she had the potential to lose the use of that leg.

I took it that they decided to tie up a few SLs as they are having a longer break than usual. There will however be some carryover with the Luka business and possibly with Dylan's relationship. Also I fear we are going to be subject to Jacob emoting over his son and grandson for a long time to come 😒

LIZS · 08/09/2024 09:17

But the whole story around the teenage girl never really evolved. Who, why and how was the ambulance run off the road, was there a fake police car which drove off? Have Rash and Tariq got away with the Yasmin injury case? Love that Tariq had never done a birth in his training, true to life sadly., but why not call for help whike Nicole got her knicks off!

Zyq · 08/09/2024 09:32

Didn't they explain the SL later? I think they said they had arrested some young men who had done it because they were offended at the notion of girls receiving education, hence they were able to lift the lockdown.

I really couldn't understand the logic of not calling for help for Nicole. I think she said something about not wanting others involved, but seriously, what mother in that situation wouldn't want to be taken straight to a delivery room rather than being left to the mercies of a totally inexperienced colleague?

Exactly especially given the baby was early and was potentially high risk and it was her first birth. It made no sense at all.

NorthernGnashers · 08/09/2024 18:14

Ngoze did a fast one on Nicole, ringing her friend, who now suddenly wants to be the baby's mum.
