Siobhan all dressed up was heartbreaking - I felt so sorry for her 😥

I'm glad Iain didn't hit Sonny, but as soon as he told Luca to stand up for himself, I knew it would end badly for all of them.

MadamePeriwinkle · 31/08/2024 22:02

Is anyone else wondering when/if they are going to address the glaring age difference between Siobhan and Rich?

What would there be to address?
There's an age difference. So what?

What a complicated episode, lots going on.

I thought it was lovely that they emphasised how the gamer lad did have friends, and they were the reason he got medical help so quickly. It happens pretty often in real life. We're too quick to discount online friendships but they're just as real and important in peoples' lives.

Iain confronting Sonny was pretty powerful.

I thought it was going to have been the brother hurting the diabetic boy because he didn't want to go to uni. Is it just going to be left at that? That both Dylan and Sophia know that the mother is hurting her child but because her son is giving up on leaving home it's going to stop happening? I really hope that gets followed up in a future episode because otherwise that has to be negligence. The adult son essentially told them what was happening, she's abusing both of her sons.

I thought the implications was that Dylan would still refer to social services and they'd get help (rather than him being taken away)
That's the implication I took from it

purpleme12 · 01/09/2024 00:00

What was the deal with Sophia in the pub?

purpleme12 · 01/09/2024 00:01

Oh and it's not Ian's fault

Ian might be angry in certain situations but he is not an angry person. Lev was angrier surely and Lev is their dad so Luca will have more of Lev in him

Walkingtheplank · 01/09/2024 00:27

I assumed Sophia was drunk or at least a heavy drinker, whilst I think Dylan is an alcoholic?
I was releaved the date did not go well.

purpleme12 · 01/09/2024 00:43

She was drinking a lot but I don't know, she was... odd

That Noah was a big lad though. I don't think Iain could have forseen "stand up for yourself" to mean taking the kid down. Obviously he was much bigger than Luca on purpose but I did think it was a bit unkind to the kid playing Noah.

Yes I thought this. She was well into that big glass of wine when he arrived. I didn't think she was drunk but wondered how her drinking like that would work when he's abstinent and she probably isn't aware of that. She seemed nervous and trying too hard imo.

Luca grew up with Lev's anger, lost his dad as a child, and is now seeing it again in Iain who has clearly become a father figure to him. Iain is absolutely a man who struggles with anger issues and has learned to keep it under control. He's always been quick-tempered, quick to rise to emotional situations. Even when he first started Dixie had to calm him down on a regular basis.

MadamePeriwinkle · 01/09/2024 01:21

It was a weirdly dark episode I thought.

Tbh I’m desperately hoping to see the back of Sophia so if her drinking puts Dylan off that’s fine by me!

This certainly challenged me, as my son is a gamer and I'm a bit like that mum Blush

I'm glad purple nurse and Dylan went badly, but I don't think it's the end. They'll obviously just fall into bed instead.

For a moment we had hope that Faith was leaving! So are her and Ian together or does he just run errands for her?

I feel sad for Our Aveline for trying so hard to cling onto the marriage. Realistic I guess but I'm a harsh cow and he'd be gone 😂

Jodie can stop being a cow to Barney as well! He wasn't even that far off the mark!

purpleme12 · 01/09/2024 10:12

Jodie was the one he was most truthful about from what I remember?

purpleme12 · 01/09/2024 10:12

I guess that is a matter of opinion - he said she sleeps around and revealed that she is on hook up apps while in a relationship. Objectively that true (although his feelings are probably linked to the fact he fancied her and she rejected him) whereas I feel his 'unforgivable' accusation was suggesting Rida was responsible for Rish's suicide attempt. She had no idea when she decided to whistle blow that Rish would blamed or what impact it would have on him.

purpleme12 · 01/09/2024 10:30

Yes of course it wasn't true about Rida

But Jodie ..

FourLeggedBuckers · 01/09/2024 10:45

I think - I could be misremembering the wording - he said that if she hadn’t whistleblown, Rash might not have tried to take his own life.

And to be fair, that is true. She isn’t responsible for his attempt, she couldn’t have predicted it. But the way it played out, the whistleblowing was a big factor in his breakdown. That’s actually more because Patrick blamed him without evidence and tried to bully him out of the department, which certainly isn’t Rida’s fault - but if she hadn’t done it, he couldn’t have blamed Rash.

And I thought there was an element of Cam feeling that - as he was presented badly in the documentary and that had an impact on him - he possibly related to Rash’s breakdown in a way he wouldn’t want to admit. Rida’s dismissive “I apologised for that” was shit - as they’re demonstrating now, an apology doesn’t make everything OK. What she did hurt Cam, and he forgave her. She hasn’t shown him the same consideration.

I really don’t think either Rida or Jodie have been fair to him at all, despite what he said being unpleasant and rude.

Girlontherailreplacementbusservice · 01/09/2024 10:47

purpleme12 · 01/09/2024 10:30

For some reason I read your PP as awful not truthful. Yes I agree the Jodie comments were true - which might make it harder to forgive and forget. Rida can be reassured that noone blames her it for Rash, but Jodie it's probably a case of truth hurts (plus the impact on her relationship with Teddy).

I've just watched the last 2 episodes on iplayer. No spoilers, but Dylan has 2 of the best lines ever 😆

The ending was all a bit Greys Anatomy for me, but they were 2 really good episodes.

I can't believe we have to wait til christmas now!!

No Casualty until Christmas now? That’s months away!

Peachyqueen · 07/09/2024 11:46

I know!! I'm guessing it's because of Strictly. There was a teaser trailer at the end of the last episode and it said it would be back at Christmas 😭

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/09/2024 12:24

Finally seen last weeks. Thought had better as 2 tonight

Didn't get the date between Dylan and purple nurse

Glad Ian didn't hit him

Yes gamers online have friends

Cam needs to tell them what happened with Jamie. We know he wasn't raped but obv some SA

But he told the truth about Jodie and she's pissed off as broke up with her bf but she was online looking on dating apps so wrong if in a relationship

UsernameChangerRanger · 07/09/2024 13:12

I don't want to get old

RJnomore1 · 07/09/2024 13:14

It’s better than the alternative though.

UsernameChangerRanger · 07/09/2024 13:19

True

Stevies face is fuller and they're hiding her from waist down. Is the actress pregnant?

hoarahloux · 07/09/2024 19:48

If we're not doing a "surprise! Baby doesn't have Down syndrome!" story, which I thought was pretty definitively ruled out, could they not have put a little bit more effort into giving that newborn some DS characteristics? His face was only shown from that weird upward angle. I guess it wasn't confirmed either way but the consultant ages ago seemed pretty certain and Rosie seems entirely out of the picture. I'd kind of hate it if the child ended up not having DS and then the inevitable "Rosie wants her baby actually" story happened.
