All these posts are massive spoilers if people haven't seen US season 1!

You need to get your facts straight there were 4 left with 2 traitors

Edited

You're getting confused because Arie walked, but he did that because he knew the jig was up when Cirie voted to banish again and he also thought he was doing the right thing since he didn't need the money (he later said). That left just Cirie, Andie and Quentin, at which point of course she voted to end the game.

Series 1 aired 12 months ago, if you haven’t watched by now it’s tough luck

noblegiraffe · 30/01/2024 11:08

I’m pretty sure that the other contestants have a minute to compose themselves after banishment and before declaring themselves a traitor/faithful.

Ross in particular was fuming when he got banished but was smiling and calm when he did his bit about being Diane’s son. He must have had time to calm down.

Violahastings · 30/01/2024 11:16

I’m tempted to watch another version of traitors.. does the Aussie version have a normal cast of people? I’ve heard the US version is a lot reality stars etc which put me off watching. I enjoy uk traitors so much because it’s pretty much free from z-listers and reality types.

I watched the US version last year and it is reality stars (none of whom I'd heard of) with a few normal people mixed in. The players were more OTT than the UK version. It's all filmed in the same castle as the UK one. The presenter is Alan Cumming who is gloriously camp in the role.

ellebelli · 30/01/2024 11:19

The first season of Australian traitors seems to me that way, mostly everyday but entertaining people.
I've just started the 2nd one and that is a mix of past reality stars so I'm already put off after the first episode...anyone think it's worth watching? I can't ask on the spoiler thread that's currently running...because ya know...spoilers!

ellebelli · 30/01/2024 11:21

Oh and I keep banging this drum. But I definitely recommend Australian survivor it's so good.
(But very long)

I think it is worth watching if you.....and sadly I can't end that sentence without spoiling everything about it from beginning to end, so all I can say is, it's a risk but if it works for you it'll really work for you.

I had to turn the American version off after 10 minutes, I just found the contestants so weirdly OTT and over confident. I might try again because it’s interesting to see how different people can manipulate each other.

Turkeyhen · 30/01/2024 11:25

@CaramelMac Yes, I felt the same, but I still enjoyed it (but not as much as I enjoy the UK one!)

MaskedFan · 30/01/2024 11:40

I binged the USA one yesterday whilst home poorly. I liked Alan in the Claudia role and his outfits were just as fabulous, he did a great job. The contestants were a bit ott, I didn't warm to any of them. They were apparently reality stars but I've never heard of any of them so I watched it as them being average Joe's. It came across as scripted, nothing natural. I did like how it was set like our series 1, the tasks were so much better. It also highlighted what an advantage the traitors get and it does seem unfair how they are given a step or two up compared to the faithful, especially when it's a game show

JaneJeffer · 30/01/2024 11:46

happinessischocolate · 30/01/2024 07:04

It's interesting that at the end when Harry went outside with Claudia he shouted "I'm the best traitor ever" not "I've won £95k"

And I think that's why he won. All the others had their stories about why they were there and what the money would do, but Harry just wanted to beat everyone at "The Traitors"

I think Zack and Jaz may have had the same feeling but the rest weren't there for the game. Mollie certainly wasn't.

Good point!

Thats a bold play!

It didn't happen quite the way the poster thinks. There were two Faithful and two Traitors, just as with our own S2. The difference was that only one Traitor voted to banish again at that point, but she had the Faithfuls completely in her pocket so it really wasn't risky. It meant she looked like a Faithful for getting a Traitor out and didn't have to share the pot. The other Traitor saw the writing on the wall when she voted and walked before the vote took place, leaving them in the same situation of one Traitor, two Faithfuls. They then all voted to end the game.

I really didn't want to do spoilers, but that poster was mistaken about what happened and we were discussing it as a strategy. Voting to banish again at the fire is not something a sole remaining Traitor has ever done.

martinisforeveryone · 30/01/2024 14:45

I've watched Series 1 of both the American and Australian versions and series 2 of Australian Traitors, which I loved.

The American ones as PP have said, have Alan Cummings as the OTT host. Great fun and wardrobe were very busy for him. They're shot in the same castle.

Series 1 and 2 Australia use a heritage hotel and their host is an actor, but I didn't know him. He seems to make more of an impression in Series 2.

The American two and the Australian series 2 have a mix off regular people and so called well knowns, either from other reality TV programmes, an actor and people who've hit the headlines for other reasons. I haven't known any of them, so it hasn't made any difference to me, although a few of them have had overwhelming personalities. You only get them in relatively small doses though.

I think it's interesting to see the other countries series and compare them to how the game's played here.

In an interview with Andrew he said people thought that he snd Miles were a couple and that there was a suspicion that Harry and Molly were as well

I’m really surprised at people thinking Andrew and Miles were a couple. They didn’t seem to have any “couple” vibes at all. I’d have believed Paul and Miles more. Less surprised about the Mollie and Harry theory!

kenyaswhiterefrigerator · 30/01/2024 15:06

@IGotItFromAgnes apparently Miles had mentioned he had close family in Wales. That was enough apparently

Thanks for the explanation, I don't think I will watch the American one as I find most American versions of things s bit ott. I'd love to watch the Dutch ones but I'm visually impaired and struggle with subtitles.

Aus series 1, episode 4, what is going on with the editing? They do a trial and it goes from day to night (black sky) then it shows them in the motel, which should then be round table but instead they go to a second trial and it is now daylight!

It was hilarious seeing Andrew's and Harry's faces when Ross said he was going to leave an extra Easter egg. I'm sure both were terrified he was going to leave a hint about them.

I dislike the whole way the Oz version is edited and I'm sure it's one reason why it's not being renewed for another season.

MaskedFan · 30/01/2024 23:21

Yes I can't to grips with it, the strange editing, the matching red tracksuits, driving the cars themselves and the holiday inn type accommodation. It's a completely different show, definitely not getting my traitors fix from it.
I have noticed though that the traitors stick together in a similar way to the American one. I wonder why in both English series the traitors have been out for themselves from the beginning

MrsLeonFarrell · 31/01/2024 10:50

I agree with the idea that Jaz was amazing at the game. Looking at his voting history he wasn't great at voting for Traitors.

I think it came about because he was the only one to have suspicions about Harry but taking everything else he thought about the others into account that seems more luck than amazing insight or judgement.
