@Turkeyhen yes they were talking about Jaz - apologies!

idiotfacelicker · 29/01/2024 13:53

But it was Jaz's lack of alliances that prevented home from being murdered.

Remember when Jaz was in the mix to be murdered with Zack and everyone online thought it would be Jaz because we all knew what he knew but he avoided being killed because he hadn't shared that and kept his suspicions from reaching Harry.

Had he trusted anyone in that group and shared his knowledge with them it would have got straight back to Harry and he would have been out with even less chance of winning.

In that sense he was absolutely right not to trust anyone because there wasn't a soul in the group left that wouldn't have reported straight to Harry.

Yes that's a good point! Jaz came within a whisker of winning too, if only Mollie hadn't changed the name on that slate 😩

LivingDeadGirlUK · 29/01/2024 16:27

I didn't really like all the late recruitment, I think its too much power for the traitors.

noblegiraffe · 29/01/2024 16:33

They want 12 episodes though, how can they be sure the traitors won’t all be out in the first couple of weeks?

They need a method to distribute traitors throughout the series.

They could put more protection mechanisms in for the faithful or make recruitment only when there is 1 traitor left.

This is so true!

Sorry only just watched the final so this may have been answered already - I dont understand why Molly didn’t work out that if Jaz was a traitor there is no way he would have voted to banish again because as a traitor he would be walking away with the money anyway! And the only way that would have worked for him would be if he knew there was 2 traitors left and was trying to make sure he got 100% instead of 50%.

Mollie didn’t think any of them were traitors and she preferred to share the cash with Harry over Jaz, she took a risk and it backfired. I don’t think there’s any way Jaz could’ve persuaded her that Harry was a traitor, and she had previously been suspicious of Jaz so she chose Harry.

That logic doesn’t always work. In the USA series in the final round table episode one of the traitors voted for a further round of banishment just to throw the rest off

happinessischocolate · 30/01/2024 07:04

It's interesting that at the end when Harry went outside with Claudia he shouted "I'm the best traitor ever" not "I've won £95k"

And I think that's why he won. All the others had their stories about why they were there and what the money would do, but Harry just wanted to beat everyone at "The Traitors"

I think Zack and Jaz may have had the same feeling but the rest weren't there for the game. Mollie certainly wasn't.

lizzowhiz · 30/01/2024 07:46

@happinessischocolate 100% agree.

Mollie really didn't add much to the game; she participated very little and it felt like she was there for the exposure and the chance of dosh rather than wanting to play a game of strategy.

I can't help feeling that if Mollie had voted the other way at the final round, Harry would have been more gracious in defeat and admired Mollie and Jaz's gameplay. He really seemed to respect the skills of the game. Big contrast to Mollie who swore and stormed. She was clearly pissed that Harry had actually played the game which they'd all entered (did she honestly think it he'd become her bestie in a fortnight! Hmm) She was no doubt pissed about chucking away a potential 45k too.

Harry won fair and square: he played the game as its intended and stuck to that consistently.

NonPlayerCharacter · 30/01/2024 07:51

The game is intended to create emotional and psychological investment beyond just wanting to win the money and almost force alliances and trust that could be misguided. That's literally what's so addictive about it. A lot of people find the tasks to win money the most boring part.

There have been various seasons in various countries, as we all know, and without spoiling anything, I will say that people are very capable of changing their "it is/isn't only a strategy game" and "just congratulate X for playing well" mindset, depending on what's happening.

happinessischocolate · 30/01/2024 08:23

Tbf if Mollie just went in for the fame and exposure she's certainly achieved that 😁

Retrievemysanity · 30/01/2024 08:39

Just finished-what a great show! Loved the ‘evil’ Harry and Paul combination, so funny. Found Mollie a lovely person but way too immature to be on there though. It’s literally a game called Traitors so how can you be so pissed off at someone who has played the game so brilliantly. Storming out crying and acting as she did just made her look like a self obsessed sore loser. Everyone was betrayed by Harry not just her, yet most took it with good grace and humour and appreciated his gameplay.

Jaz did well but didn’t take his chance when he should’ve done. He was never going to win against a Harry and Mollie combination.

MinnySkinge · 30/01/2024 08:43

Turkeyhen · 29/01/2024 13:55

It was toe curling! When she said she wanted to change it I nearly had a coronary. Harry deserved to win, but it would have been excellent TV if Jaz had managed to oust him at the very last minute.

The Traitors feels like the good old fashioned reality TV of years ago. It feels like the very old seasons of Big Brother and didn't feel like an influencer factory like most reality TV these days.

noblegiraffe · 30/01/2024 09:02

Storming out crying and acting as she did just made her look like a self obsessed sore loser.

She had just made a colossal mistake that lost her £40k in incredibly stressful circumstances, tbf.

I would probably cry too! She lost a lot of money and probably felt like a massive fool. I don't think many people could have stood there smiling.

lizzowhiz · 30/01/2024 09:24

Sure, she was upset at having messed up and lost a potential big sum of money. My point was that I suspect Harry would have reacted differently because he seemed totally invested in the skills of the game. He knew he was playing very well, but if Jaz and Mollie had applied skill and logic and defeated him, I suspect he would have admired their ingenuity. Big contrast to Mollie, who was very passive in the round table interactions and wasn't proactive, apart from in the missions winning money. Her passivity got her through to the final pretty much by default, not through her own skill. And then she blew her (and Jaz's) chance. I'd be embarrassed too, but the swearing and storming off didn't show her in a good light. Well done Claudia for managing it well though; she a great host

NonPlayerCharacter · 30/01/2024 09:28

Good God, she's only bloody human. And that's got to be the worst way to exit the game. You've fewer eyes on you when you pick up the "murdered" scroll and if you're banished you have some time to process it as it happens and everyone is at least pretending that they're sorry about it.

Retrievemysanity · 30/01/2024 09:30

@noblegiraffe @MinnySkinge agreed but most of them made mistakes that cost them the money, Jaz included, but they didn’t throw their toys out of the pram. And Harry massively threw the other traitors under the bus yet they were gracious about it and understood it was a game. She had said even before she made the mistake that she would be pissed off if it was Harry whereas he said if it was her he’d think ‘fair play’. It didn’t feel to me like she was crying because she’d lost the money it felt like she was crying because she was angry at him when all he did was play the game.

There were 4 left and Cirie decided to banish again and won as a traitor

There were still 2 traitors left when she did that. The equivalent would have been her banishing again when it was just her and two Faithfuls.
