Also, it was going OK until Bianca waded in 🤦‍♀️

And lobbed a brick through the window!

the80sweregreat · 04/03/2024 21:14

Britney already has a shitty life and ( hinted at ) being sexually abused by the nasty step dad , so Bianca decides to make her freeze to death as well too by lobbing that handy brick that was left lying around through the kitchen window!
Nice one 🙄

To be fair to MK, my DB said he was sent to do packshot photography in their MK offices and said he hated it! I’ve only been there a couple of times.

gingercat02 · 04/03/2024 21:44

My (very rich) in-laws lived in a beautiful house in MK for a couple of years pre kids. I never saw any dodgy bits, but must be some like anywhere

Shellingbynight · 04/03/2024 21:46

That was a weird episode. It was very 'here come the clunky plotlines, let's get them wrapped up asap'.

And the acting was iffy, both Whitney and Zak seemed to be acting by numbers. Maybe because they despaired of the script.

I wonder if they were limited by when/where Patsy Palmer could film. It just all seems so random.

NadiaCravensworth · 04/03/2024 21:47

Very dull episode

Bringtheweatherwithyou · 04/03/2024 23:53

I felt a bit for Patsy Palmer in today's episode. The 'set' was too small. The only thing she could do was stand at the counter and wipe it every few minutes and the script was shocking.

How to Zack and Whitney afford to disappear for five weeks without working? Why would Zack leave Whitney after she got knocked down when he desperately wants this baby? And how would Whitney afford to foster another child when she's due a baby herself and doesn't work and won't be able to work with a newborn?

Why would Bianca stick around that grotty flat? She can rent anywhere surely and its only her there now? Or is Terry leaving a way of saying there is room for Whitney to move in now?

I didn't like the episode. The acting and script were woeful.

the80sweregreat · 05/03/2024 06:15

When Zac mentioned his job / Ravi I didn't expect to see him any more , so I guess he is traveling up between jobs or his weekends off or something. Although he hasn't been seen on the square since Christmas , so that was a mystery
Sonia isn't Whitney's relative, in fact she is a rare character who isn't actually blood related to any of them , only by default via Bianca.

Bringtheweatherwithyou · 05/03/2024 08:42

Sonia managed to drive there to MK very easily. It takes 11/2 hours (according to google maps) yet speaks as if Bianca is in another country most of the time. . And that they all have cars now - Zak, Denise, Chelsea, Jack, Sonia, Stacey - why is there a need for the cab office at all. And when they say they don’t have any money but can pay for off street parking - it’s all a bit handy.

Well she’s Whitney’s aunty. Ok Whitney isn’t Bianca’s biological daughter but that shouldn’t matter.

Southeastdweller · 05/03/2024 11:13

These two episodes set in Milton Keynes were, even for EastEnders, laughably unrealistic. Also preachy and a bit caricatured.

NoisyBrain · 05/03/2024 19:07

I'm glad it wasn't just me who found the headteacher scene really lecture-ish (and yes, there's no way she'd discuss an absent pupil with some random claiming to be a relative, who wasn't on their list of contacts!)

So much of the episode didn't make sense or felt contrived.

the80sweregreat · 05/03/2024 19:25

The head teacher speech seemed to only blame the pandemic for these 'ghost children ' yet I remember it being a problem long before lockdown ( although I know that hasn't helped)
Not every single child was at home over the pandemic , our local primary was open for key worker children to go in.
I can recall many mumsnet threads from teachers and others who wanted to shut schools as well back in Feb 2020..
(Although I guess it was only meant to be for 12 weeks initially !)
It was very preachy and although it's good to have social issues hi lighted , I did find it odd to only make it seem it's been a recent problem with attendance.

Starlightstargazer · 05/03/2024 20:03

I’m not liking these episodes at all! Are the writers seriously putting forward that Whitney would leave zac and stay in Milton Keynes?! What a shite exit storyline for her!

SagaNorensPorche · 05/03/2024 20:19

These past 2 days have been dire. It's like they were aiming for Ken Loach but got Byker Grove.

Bianca looks about 2 years older than Whitney too which is very distracting.

Eastie77Returns · 05/03/2024 20:27

Absolutely awful episodes. Why have they given Whitney such a crappy exit! After so long on the show she deserves better. Patsy Palmer is a really good actress but there is nothing even she can do to rescue the desperate storyline and dreadful script.

Literally nothing about Whitney moving to MK, pregnant and jobless but being able to foster a child at the drop of a hat makes any sense. It’s comical.

StickNMove · 05/03/2024 20:36

Whitney deserves a black taxi outta the squaaaaare with lots of tears, not sloping off to MK to look after a random kid.

And as if Zack would’ve just said ‘ok, cool, I’m off!’ to his heavily pregnant partner after all they’ve been through.

Where was Morgan? Not with his girlfriend the whole time, surely?

Stupid episode.

Aquarius1234 · 05/03/2024 20:42

There's no way Bianca would be ironing!
Also I was finding it difficult to look at her awful acting.

the80sweregreat · 05/03/2024 20:44

A huge guess, but has the Whitney actress upset the producers/ writers by leaving so and is their revenge?
She is a cracking actress and had such big story lines before and now her swan song is this rubbish !
Nice to see Bianca , but sad for Whitney not having a better exit

Aquarius1234 · 05/03/2024 20:44

Terrible..
I actually believed Whitney could love that girl. Far fetched but I felt it.
Did anyone else think Whitney was going to get stabbed at the end?? Like what are you doing going in there!

the80sweregreat · 05/03/2024 20:47

I can't remember the last time I ironed anything tbh
Reminded me of my late mum who ironed everything and anything ! We never had creased sheets

Edited

I also worried Whitney was going to get stabbed! And Zack is so self righteous and unsupportive. Perhaps they should have accepted they were incompatible when they first realised it before Whitney got pregnant.

the80sweregreat · 05/03/2024 21:05

I was never convinced by Zac and Whitney to be honest , his a wide boy and will never change
I really felt for them over Peach , but I doubt they would have stayed together.

Same.

Zak came into it as the man about town, big car, shades, plenty of female interest. Then found out he took drugs and is HIV+ and Whitney was never really similar to him. They had a shared interest from being mistreated kids and then pregnancies took over and they revolved their lives around their shared hopes.

You sometimes hear about marriages ending shortly after the wedding because the couple have been so caught up with planning it, they don’t realise they don’t want the marriage itself.

Whitney and Zak are like that.

Anyone know what the actress is going to do next? Or is she another one who thinks she’s a fine actress only to end up on Z ‘celeb’ shoes and in an episode or two of Holby City?

I did wonder at Whitney’s exit. She gets a non one. Still I guess it gives her a possible entrance route back in if she wants it.

Sorry Shona, I’ve heard and seen you sing and that’s not a future career, in my opinion.
