I’m gutted. ‘Ballum ‘ have been the sexiest couple in soaps for years. Max is a really good actor and there’s still mileage in his character. Makes me think he’s been up to no good behind the scenes…

Max is a brilliant actor , very natural and that combination of vulnerability but also a hard nut when he has to be
I feel sad the good ones are leaving

The blurb on the reporting suggests a fallout with producers and also due to stuff away from set. His contract isn't being renewed.

Will there be another NuHeadBen?
Will Eastenders invite an OldHeadBen back like we had with Peter ?

I saw the previous Ben in Doctors in the last episode before Christmas but as that is finishing very soon, it's not a long contract .

Hopefully they will seamlessly replace him otherwise Callum will end up with Johnny Sausage as no-one in EE is allowed to be single or look outside the Square for a partner

Tbh it's a bit disturbing having Ken's body decaying under the caff floor, hope they manage to move it and bury him somewhere rather than build flats or new caff over him!

Years ago the rumour was always about dead bodies ending up in concrete and then on to make roads and flyovers or being fed to the pigs.
No idea if it
was urban myths or whatever , but I'm sure lots went on years ago pre cctv and so on.
Lots of older buildings probably have all kinds of secrets hidden away too

I haven’t seen anything about the New Year’s Day episode not being dropped on iPlayer tomorrow morning, so I hopefully it will be. We’ll see tomorrow!

Apparently he had a girlfriend. Dumped her. Got with Shona (Whitney). Split up with her but they decided to be friends (hmmm she decided to leave the soap). Then he had a baby with his above mentioned ex.

Maybe his private life hasn't helped ( no idea) but people are human and relationships are never easy.
I still rate him as a good actor though and many are not as good as he is on that show and I'll miss him ( the character was always complex and not very nice and he made him believable )
I hope he gets a good exit

I'm very sorry to see Ben go and think Max Bowden is one of the best actors in it. I think he really has shown what an unpleasant person Ben is and he is the most believable son of Phil that has played him. I suppose if any actor is in it too long, they run the danger of always been seen as 'Ben from EE'. I remember seeing Jane in Waterloo Road after she'd left EE and she was was very believable even though she'd been in the soap a number of years by then.

He’s done a superb job at bringing out all sides of Ben’s personality.

Clearly there’s stuff that’s gone on that we don’t know about (yet). Jessie Wallace is still there - how many chances has she been given after all she’s got up to over the years, off-camera?

When Carol (Branning ) got married (she was already using the surname Jackson) her Dad (Jim) was very anti , partly because April was meant to be the one getting wed and partly because Jim was racist . (And one of the brothers Derek (who in 1996 was played by a different actor to the one who had a fling with Kat)

Roll on a few years and Jim marries Dot ( a good Christian woman) and is Best Friends with Patrick and Yolande

The George adoption storyline will hopefully be done well

They gave Jim a complete personality transplant and mostly forgot about his racism. Carol brought it up a couple of times but Jim was basically recast as grumpy but lovable. At least there was consistency with new head Derek as he was very bigoted when he reappeared.

I did have a quick mosey on Digital Spy but it only lets me view a paragraph ( 'cos I;m too tight arsed to subscribe )

I'm a bit realllly with their predictions but there's a photo of Sonia and Whitney , Sonia holding a pregnancy test and the headline is "Baby News For Whitney" which is probably "Whitney going to be an Auntie as Sonia announces her pregnancy news " <yawn>

But ...it keeps giving don't it ?

I;m inspired from watching a YouTube compilation of alll the NYE /NYD deaths and hopeful that Nish joins the elite group .........
