It might have been Cindy's sister Gina who took Cindy 2 in, but I do also remember her mentioning grandparents as well. It's a bit vague though.
She came down from Devon on the train and I do recall an eating disorder or self harm or something similar , she wasn't a particulaly happy character

milesmachine · 12/02/2024 09:15

I remember Cindy junior being really good in one of the live episodes around Lucy's death.
Didn't she have to read a very emotional letter or something?

I recall the actress who played her being very

milesmachine · 12/02/2024 09:15

..very good!

milesmachine · 12/02/2024 09:19

Today's episode was very good. Colin Salmon is such a great addition

I'm wondering if there's a connection between the 'historical murder' charge his dad is on and his biological father? There was clearly more to the baby farming story than his parents were letting on. Did his dad kill his real dad?

the80sweregreat · 12/02/2024 09:37

Ahh! So it's an historical murder charge then
They must have found some more evidence I assume?

Southeastdweller · 12/02/2024 09:42

It's crazy that George didn't know about it - surely it would be in the media about Eddie's murder charge?

I shuddered a little at the end of the episode when Eddie's friend referred to the murder victim as 'coloured'. I'm sure there's people out there, most likely 60+, who use that word so think that was a perceptive bit of writing.

So in Germany we have:
Ricky (who owns the business there?)
Liam
Cindy Jnr
Liam & Cindy baby
Keegan
Tiffany (is she Ricky's daughter?)
Mick and janines baby

Hope Ricky had a big enough place!!

Years ago I remember people went to Newcastle like it was some far flung city that no one could return from, instead of easily reachable on a train.

the80sweregreat · 12/02/2024 11:55

Eddies friends looked a rum old bunch :(
Elaine never gets it does she ? George was saying how his dad treated him if he didn't do well and she was kind of smiling and didn't really understand what he was saying :(

the80sweregreat · 12/02/2024 12:00

It was hinted that Rickyyyy had a good job and business over in Germany and able to absorb all the waifs and strays / relatives from the east end!
Must be fun over there I bet. Probably a lot more interesting and less drama than Walford

the80sweregreat · 12/02/2024 12:02

Yes, Tiffany is Ricky's daughter.

the80sweregreat · 12/02/2024 12:03

New head Johnny was never the ' hard man ' before ! Not that I recall anyway
Obviously being a lawyer in Manchester has toughened him up a lot

Elaine and her boom boom voice annoys me. She’s like the villain in a pantomime, she’s simply isn’t a believable character.

the80sweregreat · 12/02/2024 12:50

I don't mind Elaine , but she hasn't any empathy at all. She did ( however ) admit that she isn't a good mum to Linda , which was a first

the80sweregreat · 12/02/2024 13:05

Cindy's daughter with TJ is nearly 10 now
I doubt she'll show up with her, but it's a possibility I guess ?
They might write her in if Cindy comes back with her mum and Peter

NoisyBrain · 12/02/2024 14:34

TJ (baby's Dad) was the son of Bianca's partner Terry wasn't he? I thought I remembered Cindy finding motherhood too hard and going to Germany without the baby, leaving her with TJ & his family, but I could be wrong.

Sadly there are a few characters like that around though.... my DM's DM, not her (nana) but some of her close friends were a bit dodgy. Ditto my grandad was a bit of a nasty piece of work (dad's DF) tried to get my dad involved in an insurance scam.

Hang on a sec, Tiff is Ricky's daughter, I always thought she was Bianca's daughter or maybe not?

The George and his dad drama is a bit more interesting but how has he murdered someone and how?!

the80sweregreat · 12/02/2024 15:56

Bianca and Ricky are Tiffany's parents according to ' fandom ' pages online , but ( to be honest) I didn't think too much about her dad when she was in it as she was always with her mum. (Or arguing with her !)
I must admit that the characters Eddie hang out with are very well drawn. Probably surprised that they had George living with them , but that was 'ok' because it was Gloria and Eddie that were bringing him up back then.

Ok, here is the spoiler. I hope it's right!!

After finding Denise’s necklace on the floor, Amy puts it back in her stepmum’s bedroom. When Denise then starts acting strangely, convinced that Keanu put it on her dressing table, Amy confides in Ricky over her fears for their stepmum, and Ricky suggests that they should speak to Jack. However, Amy tells her brother to keep quiet because she fears that speaking out will lead to another split between Denise and their stressed dad.

Wouldn't the necklace in question be the replacement one that Jack bought Denise (as no way Amy could get hold of the one that was buried with Keanu!), though? More likely that in her current state of mind, Denise then hallucinates that it's her old D necklace and thinks Keanu (or his ghost) brought it back.

I have to say, I agree 100%. Everything she says/does is done in an overly dramatic way. Completely different to the old Elaine.

Necklace gate explained today. I'm very sorry for giving duff spoiler info earlier in this thread. I'll never do it again and will make sure I chastise myself harshly.

Whattodo112222 · 13/02/2024 11:03

Elaine's voice is ridiculous.

Eddie is terrifying.

MadisonAvenue · 13/02/2024 11:46

Anyone else notice that Eddie’s address on the news article was the Jasmine Allen Estate? Great work by the writers there.

Noooooo! Great shout by the scriptwriters and well spotted. I wonder if the Cockcroft will ever be mentioned.

the80sweregreat · 13/02/2024 15:04

I had to look up the reference, but it's the estate on ' the Bill ' !
I did used to watch it now and again , but never a huge fan.
