Marking my place :)

MouseMinge · 07/10/2023 20:36

Marking my space with some Fosse jazz hands.

ThePoshUns · 07/10/2023 20:37

I loved that Fosse routine. They nailed it.

GrouchyKiwi · 07/10/2023 20:37

Glitterball Thanks for the new thread!

nettie434 · 07/10/2023 20:37

I thought there were some really good dances tonight. Angela and Carlos were especially good and I was happy Annabel did so well.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 07/10/2023 20:38

Gooseysgirl · 07/10/2023 20:48

Nigel - because he's in danger
Krishnan - my favourite tonight

Just catching up as had a break to sort the Chinese takeaway. My vote's gone to Angela S, Amanda and Ellie.

PuppyMonkey · 07/10/2023 20:55

Voted Nigel because I think it’s awful they dressed him up like that and made him dance to that particular Batman music…. Why do they insist on making some of the celebs look like idiots on Movie Week when others get to be Audrey Hepburn or a Man in Black ?

EsmaCannonball · 07/10/2023 20:59

Can't believe they had a pro dressed as a ginger tom and they didn't get him to make a cameo in a Breakfast At Tiffany's routine. (I loved Annabel and Johannes. The music, the dress, the simplicity.)

Adam and Luba put me in mind of when Harry Enfield used to send up Brookside. (Calm down! Calm down!)

Amanda was a dead ringer for Jen from The I.T. Crowd. Anyway, just what do you have to do to get a decent mark for a rumba on this show? Not perfect, but I doubt we'll see a better one this series.

Loved ProNikita looking like a Warhol Factory twink. They were suspiciously harsh with Layton but he needs to stop dancing like he's competing against Nikita. I think his biggest weakness is going to be acting everything like he's Faye Dunaway in Mommie Dearest. There's no sincerity or authenticity.

Angela and Kai reminded Motsi of her childhood? Can't imagine how traumatic that incident must have been. They made my Kai look like a beer-bellied Australian nappy fetishist.

Really surprised that Katya failed to capture the camp of 1960's Batman. Thought the choreography would be much more inventive and reference the show more. The costumes and the graphics were doing all the heavy lifting.

SlebNikita dances like she's just been dragged out of the audience and doesn't know what she's doing there. At least Gorka will get to spend more time with his new baby.

Didn't think Jody should have been bottom of the leaderboard. Again, I loved the simple charm of it and he was better than Nikita and Adam.

Got to admit it: Bobby does have charisma.

In the battle of the Charlestons I know Angela danced it better but I much preferred the whole ambience of Krishnan and Lauren's.

Karen needs to take what Eddie's got and find a way to harness it.

Loved Ellie again. Think she just might be my winner.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it..

But 'there are worse things I could do' is a song about being slut shamed and double standards. It's the most powerful song and message from Greece imo, which is a film of its time and has quite a few messages seen as quite problematic today. I'm sure many women will have been able to relate to some of the lyrics of that song at some point of their life. It didn't feel appropriate to make it into a drag act imo.

And it's often the ones dressed like idiots who are eliminated: both Ritchie and Dev come to mind.

2Rebecca · 07/10/2023 21:02

I did enjoy hearing " na na na na na na na na na batman" again. The choreo was naff but tune choice gets 10/10 for those who like vintage movie night if they must have these awful themes

ThePoshUns · 07/10/2023 21:03

Gosh @EsmaCannonball that's the funniest critique!

Figgygal · 07/10/2023 21:04

Voted nigel Amanda and krishnan
For anyone who loved the Fosse stuff very much recommend Fosse Verdon on disney plus - brilliant show with fabulous performances watched it as couple years ago and still think of it and what legacies we leave behind us

KimberleyClark · 07/10/2023 21:05

Thanks for new thread.

xsquared · 07/10/2023 21:06

Amanda was a dead ringer for Jen from The I.T. Crowd.

Incidentally, Katherine Parkinson had a small part in Sherlock. "You repel me".

Yes it didn't work in so many levels.
I felt like ' you want same sex couples, great. But dress up as a woman, okaaaaay?'
