Why the FRIG didn't they dress Kai as Captain Von Trapp instead of one of the children? I know that the Captain isn't in that scene in the film, but Strictly Movie Week has never been a stickler for details!

Definitely wasnt fanning myself during Nigel's rubbish jive. And why the heck did they make them wear capes 🤦🏻‍♂️

She’s just so awful. All that “knickers” crap instead of swearing. Just so…dated and deeply unfunny. Don’t like her. Poor Kai looked a complete twat. No couldn’t care less about Annabelle. Hope Nigel gets through despite the dreadful outfit. Wtf? The Paralympic bloke is a bore. Nikita def doesn’t like Leyton. I imagine he’s a difficult character to get on with.

I think people are being a bit unfair to Layton. He didn't decide on the dance or music and if the song is sung by a woman in the film then it was pretty obvious either he or Nikita would be dressed as a woman. Personally I thought it was a pretty awful song and not sure why they couldn't have had another song from Grease.

I don't understand all the Layton hate - he's just trying to be true to himself, which is hard enough without all of the vitriol.

Especially agree that he didn't choose any of that... but he did the best he could. An absolute ringer would have nailed that, so the fact that he had problems with it shows that he's also learning how to ballroom dance (he still needs to work on his feet and maintaining his posture in hold, for example). He's a strong character, and he has said he will find it hard to not lead. I don't see anything but mutual respect and affection between Layton and Nikita. I've watched every interview and IG post, and they seem to genuinely like each other, even when they don't know the camera is on them.

The worst part for me was the costume for Layton. On ITT Vicky Gill revealed a kind of netted skirt that would go over biker shorts. I think that look would have been much better, much edgier, than what he ended up in. He looked to me like a teacher on Little House on the Prairie. Skirt was way too long and conservative.

We all like who we like. ProNikita is amazing this year, and I really like Layton, so I hope they stay in as long as they can.

Layton’s outfit seemed to include a teeny-tiny pair of breasts under his blouse, I found it far more disturbing than a giant pair or none at all. The character Rizzo completely stole the film for me, and there is nothing appropriate about a man playing her.

Karen wasn't dressed as a man, she was dressed in the MIB uniform, like Tessa Thomson and Linda Fiorentino's characters in the films.

I vaguely recall that dance. I must have thought it was someone else because imagining Ola fully clothed is difficult.

That's me caught up with the show from last night. I really enjoyed, Amanda, Angela and Ellie. Eddie was overly marked for sure. I wasn't keen on either jives. Krishnan in make up was a treat. Nikita and Jody or Zara in the DO.

Well, again, he didn't chose the awful song so it seems whoever did wanted Layton to play a woman for whatever reason. I've never seen the film but I know there are other better, in my opinion, songs they could have danced to

I disagree - I think it's an age (and possibly class/region?) thing. My DM, a similar age, says knickers sometimes, and would genuinely never use bad language. Although she prob wouldn't even say knickers in public.

My mum is a similar age and wouldn't dream of using either of those words. Thankfully, she doesn't say knickers either! She just doesn't swear.

I'd forgotten we were shown that in the ITT preview. I've just watched it back, and we were shown pleated front cropped trousers, like Rizzo wears in the film, with a sheer circle-skirt-shaped overlay.

Agreed, Rizzo would never have worn anything like Layton's costume last night, nor would any other character in Grease.

I did like the black skirt, which was made from soft fabric with lots of movement. It's good for dancing, but not for this number.

So..

The pro dance was one of the most gorgeous things I've seen and I loved it and it made me cry a little bit.

Having said (based on you lot 😂) I'd have voted for Amanda, Krishnan and Jody, I'd really have voted for Annabel (also made me sentimental a little bit and Johannes is so gentle with his partners, pure magic) Ellie (Vito is doing less of the out-dancing and she is good ) and Bobby- I really enjoyed that.

Mind you, I might still have chucked Jody a point because a lot of more precious slebs would have (and have) pulled a free pass/sick note for a lot less than what he's had to put up with this week.

Motsi looked 3 stone lighter- it was her arms and chest covered I think. The Mabute women are magnificent of cleavage and at times it makes them look chunky up top. She looked amazing. ❤️ She has also really toned down her shouting and bawling and is actually giving proper criticism this year.

Adam, Zara, Jody, Nikita, Nigel all whoosh gone out of my head in mediocrity the minute they'd finished. Though I enjoyed Nikita's more than Zara's tbh. And the paso is my favourite. That just was a shit one. I don't think Graziano is a great choreographer tbh.

Both Amanda and Angela Scanlon are starting to give me Helen Skelton vibes. They're good, they know it, they want it. Both leaving me suddenly a bit cold. Despite their proficiency.

I can't work out if Angela Rippon is playing a part. She was not a ditsy posh woman in her heyday. Has she turned into one? Dunno. Kai deserves compensation for possibly the worst outfit ever, and why the atrocious wig? Some of the VT children were brunette.

The CC wasn't even that good. Karen completely outdanced him in a manner worthy of a Carlos outdance your sleb. I couldn't take my eyes off her.

And I'll end by saying I think, ever so slightly, Layton is becoming ever so slightly less arrogant and ever so slightly more humble. He'll get my vote the day he dances against Jayde Adams and not a day before, but I think he is starting to realise he's not that spesh after all.

I thought she looked very ill indeed.

I think Layton was surprised not to get better marks TBH, and rather jealous of those who did.
