I'm thrilled to see Layton in the wrong half of the leader board (though hope to god that doesn't mean he's going to wheel the weeps out. Because JFC, mixed race, northern, working class, gay, dressing in women's clothes and getting bad press and nasty comments for, y'know, already being a professional dancer, is going to mean an ocean of nan tears and Shirley needing a paddle that says 1000.

Totally agree. Layton danced beautifully but he did not portray Rizzo and how could he really. It was a bit annoying

I'm confused on instagram they kept talking about a Barbie group dance . I did miss this me first 2 minutes did I miss it? Saw the Disney group dance which was beautiful

I saw a Disney group dance which was lovely and pleased that it was mainly traditional Disney. I saw no Barbies. Also Layton should note that Johannes is gay but can still dance the traditional male role with a woman. Fancying men and being a woman are different things.

Yes!!!! This was NOT a 10!! What was Shirley thinking???!!! I could only conclude she knows nothing about street dance and thought she'd be all down with the kids if she hyped it up. Bizzarre!!! I like Eddie but others were waaay better tonight! Thought the Bridget Jones rumba was a terrific and for a very hard dance.

Carlos is definitely growing on me. I thought his comment was so funny when talking with Claudia. I was pretty sure when he said it that it wasn't his ego talking but his English not showing the nuances.

I felt that Katya really missed her opportunity tonight.

Do you think the couples really take 2 hours out of training to watch the movie associated with their dance, or just 10 minutes of the relevant clip?
I think it was Harvey who did Chorus Line and the iconic dance is just a tiny bit of that movie.

What I did not understand about last night's show - Amanda and Giovanni were doing a Bridget Jones themed rumba. Fine, she's there in her brushed cotton pyjamas and Gio in his Mark Darcy christmas jumper.

And then the music starts and they're in their slinky green dance clothes. And then a few minutes later when someone else is talking to Claud, Gio's back in his jumper. What was the point of all that?

OK so rumba in jammies and slippers might be tough - but why put them in those outfits in the first place?

I thought Kids in America and Take on Me were perfectly good jive choices. Joe and Dianne did a good if slightly frantic jive to the latter in week 1 (hilariously crap "social media" theming having watched it back).

Batman could have worked maybe? Overwhelmed by the theming, Nigel's flat boots and him being underrehearsed.

I've just watched it again and there was quick step steps in it. Angela Rippon Is 78 years old and maybe not able for a quicksprint other couples do for effect , I'd personally would rather watch quality over quantity.

The 'forgettable Scot'?! How very dare you? 😆I've loved Joe McFadden since seeing him in Small Faces and The Crow Road donkey's years ago. He is lovely and we agree his Cabaret samba was amazing. One of my most re-watched dances.
