I agree with just about everything that's been said about Layton in drag as Rizzo. She was my favourite character in the film and that song is deep and means a lot to any woman who's been slut shamed. Layton murdered that aspect of it and it was very much a "look at my pretty face as I emote!" performance. I hope that's the last drag costume they go for because it doesn't work.
Also agree re John and Johannes, it was the mixture of masculinity and vulnerability that worked so well with them. One could argue that Layton is very different to John and that would be right but in terms of glorious camp outrageousness, Johannes is the most glorious and he can bring masculine strength and vulnerability to the dance depending on what's required. Layton needs to learn to do that too. The twat.
