watching Emmerdale and wondering why they put Jai and Laurel together as a couple; zero chemistry. Thinking of other TV couples with no spark or connection:
Eastenders: Denise and Jack
Corrie: Dev and Billy’s mum
Dev’s son and new older girlfriend

Any couples that leave you cold?

Well Dev is not with Billy's mum, (Who is Billy's mum?) But I agree that Dev - and Paul and Gemma's mum (Bernie) - are a bad match. No way would a decent looking, suave, tall, middle aged man, with his own successful business, go for a rough biffer like Bernie who has zero going for her. Totally unbelievable.

Billy (the vicar) and Paul would never be an item either. Poles apart.

Lucy and Lee (Mack) in Not Going Out and all couples like that. 'Oh Lee, what are you like?!' [audience roars with laughter]

Good one. Forgot about them. I HATE Emily in Friends. Awful character, and the actress is quite wooden IMO. (Helen Baxendale.)

In other things she's OK, but I can't bear her in Friends.

Jack and Nikki in Silent Witless/ Shitness although that might be because Emilia Fix has forgotten how to act.

Rachel and Joey in Friends, hated them together. It made no sense.

Films rather than TV but Tom Cruise never has any chemistry with his female co-stars. He always kisses them so weirdly too.

Not really because also her and James Nesbitt had no chemistry in Cold Feet. Although it was better than their storyline about him and the Singaporean chick where they played casual racism bingo for an entire series.

That was a daft and pointless storyline wasn't it? It's like they were clutching at straws for a few different storylines. Glad they stopped it fairly quickly.

Cindy Beale manages to have chemistry with everyone but struggles a bit with Ian, as would anyone, to be fair.

Agree about Ian: only good chemistry when he’s fighting with Phil!

Sybil and Tom in Downton Abbey. Been watching it again recently and they were totally unconvincing.
