Omg. Tonight’s Lola’s death was beautifully done. I sobbed. Im away - blondes in the sun - A great look round the pool !!

ben Didn’t make it back. He will now go on even more of a downer

poor lexi. Least she has jay

Lily is now maybe 6mths preg and still no ss about 🙄🙄

Denise and Jack made up and Chelsea and Ravi are making out

Stacey is still poor tho still not sure why

Stacey burger van cleaning
Jean cleaning
Harvey taxi
Freddy fish shop
Eve on nish payroll

yet always in the pub

Reiss has a secret wife Debbie who will have to die

it hard he’s a boring pompous fart. Sonja deserves someone more sexy. He needs a shave and glasses to go and then he’s sexy. But still a drip

suki and eve seem to have stopped for the moment

Linda and mum running the pub. And sure her old man will come soon

freddie and his adhd needed to be sorted

Phil is still soooooo rich and giving money to one and all - wish I had his money tree ans now paying for the funeral and I assume will help with the rent

Placemarking blonds
Thank you

amprev · 31/05/2023 21:54

Jay actor was excellent.

Jellykat · 31/05/2023 22:01

Thanks for new thread Blondes..

Jays gonna blame himself for needing a wee and not being with her when she went isnt he?
Meanwhile Ben will return, unfortunately..

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 22:05

Jay was there too he whole time
He has nothing to be sorry for at all
Unlike Ben !

JMSA · 31/05/2023 22:12

It was very well done and beautifully acted, but I'm afraid moving me to tears is quite some feat! I can still appreciate it for what it is though.

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 22:21

I tear up at anything tbf !
Dh was more composed , he rarely cries
He might have had a tear today , but he didn't need the Kleenex !

Ah was just looking to see if there was a thread on this. So beautifully done, and thought they balanced the tension well with the snapping about the nail polish, so not overegging the sentiment.

When the fox came out at the end I was in bits.

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 22:25

That fox 🦊
I heard it in the background too ! Along with all that wind!! Very atmospheric

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/05/2023 22:28

Yes the fox was a good point

I was puzzled as usual by house layout

Lola's bedroom has a window to back. But lexi room Behind /next door has to window /layout isn't possible

I think the phrase ' poetic license' is taken with the sets ! They move those houses around

Totally agree with your point about it not being OTT. They didn't have Ben making it to her bedside in the nick of time, Jay was understandably cranky, Jay was in the loo when she passed ...
I like that it wasn't all saccharin sweet.

kerstina · 31/05/2023 22:31

Well I was sobbing yesterday and tonight but am very tearful generally as lost my little dog just over a week ago.
Brilliant acting from Jay and Lexie. I thought they might have done it in a similar way to the episode where they were at the seaside where we see Lola dreaming that Jay is with her . I did find Billy a bit frustrating yesterday that he was criticising Ben when he was acting even worse. Thought they were going to section him at one point. I do find Billy hard to warm to though.

JMSA · 31/05/2023 22:32

Also that she wasn't physically able to say anything at the end. They got the balance of beautiful, poignant and realistic just right.

Snipples · 31/05/2023 22:32

Yes as soon as Jay went to the loo I knew it would happen then. Apparently very common that people 'wait' to pass the moment they're alone (I know Lexi was there but asleep).

Very well done.

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 22:45

I've never liked Billy much
He was a bully at first too :( and a coward.
I prefer Phil , but I know he isn't Mr wonderful
He is also a better actor ( went to RADA)
I'll miss Phil if he goes for good one day
I'd love him to retire to Spain

OnNaturesCourse · 31/05/2023 22:50

Not watched it in the run up at all as suffer with health anxiety a bit and these story lines can trigger it BUT just watched her last scenes and proper bubbled (and I'm not a crier..)

Heartbreaking as a mother to watch even a fictional young girl lose her Mum in such way. I love how they had it that Lexi didn't freak out, but embraced her Mum being at rest. It's like she was no longer asleep but didn't really want to open her eyes until Jay was there too.

CorporaINobbyNobbs · 31/05/2023 22:53

I didn’t cry until the fox - but that was lovely. I was about Lexi’s age when my mother died so found that hard when she said I’ll never ever forget you 🥺

DahliaMacNamara · 31/05/2023 23:13

I was fairly stonyhearted, and a bit baffled by the darts game, up until the fox.

the80sweregreat · 31/05/2023 23:16

The darts was a bit far fetched.
However , the ladies won. So forgiven !!
I thought that Mitch would have said about Chantelle , but maybe not appropriate at that time.

Motheranddaughter · 31/05/2023 23:17

I never cry at TV,but I did tonight
Perfectly pitched

Was the Fox significant at all?

FluffyPinkSocks · 31/05/2023 23:24

I blubbed, the same as last night. Great acting from Jay and Lexi. Especially poignant as a young local mum passed yesterday, ok she was older than Lola but she had her husband and daughter around her. I can’t imagine how they are feeling now. Makes me want to have a bit more patience around my children and stop worrying about the stupid things in life, enjoy every was they say.

AquamarineNoseStud · 31/05/2023 23:25

@CherryCokeFanatic
Because Jay described Lola as being like one: "wily, sassy, scrappy. And sexy, too"

Snipples · 31/05/2023 23:27

@CherryCokeFanatic when Jay was talking to Lola and saying his goodbyes he said it wasn't really goodbye as they would be together again and might come back as something else. He then said Lola would come back as a fox as she was sassy etc. and he'd be happy to come back as a rat as long as he got to be with her.
