I've started a new thread already in case I forget to do it. Might not be needed but I think there's only about 50 posts left on the old thread. Shall we say we'll start posting on this one from tomorrow (Friday 5th) ?

The direct train from Montreal to Halifax is $184 and takes 18 hours.

CaloriecountMay2023 · 04/05/2023 20:02

I’ve got hooked on this and binged watched the first two series and I am now completely hooked on the third. So far though the best series was the first for me.

rebbles1 · 04/05/2023 20:08

Love the programme- makes me want to go to Canada! What's the deal with the daughter and dad I didn't totally get the backstory about where he had been for most of her life?

TeamSleep · 04/05/2023 22:56

Thanks for the new thread. I can’t wait for the final next week it’s going to be close I reckon! Some couples have quite a lot of money. I wonder if they will just get taxis to the end, that’ll be a bit boring if so!

I think he's been running a pub so she spent a lot of time with her grandparents.

I got into it when the first episode just happened to be on and I recognised the park in Vancouver that they were trying to get out of right at the start as somewhere I'd been many years ago!

We’re already thinking about Canada for our next big holiday!!

BeginningToLookALotLike · 05/05/2023 17:35

I recently watched Griff's Big Canadian Adventure (Griff Rhys Jones) on Channel 4. He visited a lot of the same places that the contestants have travelled to this time. Wonderful landscapes!

IceandIndigo · 05/05/2023 21:50

I hope Zainib and Mobeen win, but would be happy with any of the remaining couples really. I think budget might come into it as the finish is in Newfoundland and it’s going to be expensive to get there.

I wouldn't be surprise if there is only 1 ferry to the final checkpoint and they all happen to be in it!

Gothambutnotahamster · 07/05/2023 19:39

I agree @Fleabea

Strikeback · 07/05/2023 21:08

Thanks for the new thread @LindorDoubleChoc my first RATW and I have loved it, been watching on iplayer and then reading everyone's comments afterwards. Am all caught up now ready for the final! And then I'm going to watch series 1 and 2, very excited!

tourdefrance · 08/05/2023 09:27

Placemarking for the final.

Love everyone who is left and have no idea who is going to win. They do have the advantage of knowing the final destination so may spend some of their 36 hours doing some research?

Inthebathagain · 08/05/2023 09:36

I'm really glad you're all enjoying it. Have to say that I can't get into this series at all.

Loved series 1. Series 2 was good. But after episode 2 of series 3, I had to stop. I couldn't engage with the couples.

I hope your favourites win on Wednesday!

BishopRock · 08/05/2023 20:16

I don't know who I want to win, and will likely only realise right at the end, if that makes sense. They all have something going for them.

I'm just glad the odious Kevin is no longer there.

LindorDoubleChoc · 08/05/2023 20:32

Obviously the final episode is an unknown quantity, but I don't think I'll be really gutted/ecstatic either way whoever wins.

I think my slight preference is Monique and Ladi first, Cathie and Tricia second and Zainib and Mobeen third. But that's really only because my perception is that Z&M have had more lucky breaks than the others, which of course I could be entirely wrong about.

So are we! The problem is choosing whereabouts in Canada to go 🤔

Highfivemum · 09/05/2023 07:35

Cathie and Trisha to win for me. They have such a supporting friendship and I think for them to win would mean so much to them

TeamSleep · 09/05/2023 09:26

I would honestly be happy if any of the teams won, they are all very deserving of the win but I somehow feel like it would mean the most to Cathie and Trisha if they win so that would be lovely to see.

TheMadGardener · 10/05/2023 01:01

I don't mind any of the remaining teams winning but I do hope they're not going to fix it so that all the teams reach the finish together and have to run madly to the finish line 10 seconds apart. I suspect it will be fixed for a close finish even though Zainib and Mobeen are currently hours ahead.

If it does come down to a foot race it won't be Tricia and Cathie winning it.

LittleFreakJezebel · 10/05/2023 07:12

I'm in the same boat, don't mind any team winning but lean slightly more towards Trisha and Cathy. They know they won't win on foot which is why I think they've been working as much as possible and saving money where possible in the last couple of weeks so that they have the option of a taxi/hire car at the end to gain as big an advantage as possible however it wouldn't surprise me if it does end in a very close foot race.

KrasiTime · 10/05/2023 07:19

Team friends here as well. I identify the most with them - I’m also limited mobility (although a lot older) always have to have contingencies in case something doesn’t quite work out.
