I'm just genuinely surprised that Karren Brady lowered herself to playing the 'bitch boss' character she does in this series. She's so successful, why does she need to do this?!

I agree, why oh why? Good tv? not for us. The candidates were all disappointing but I did feel sorry for them - even being made to cry. We were just cringing

The male interviewers were just as strong, so why single out Karen. Is it because a woman so shes supposed to be nice?
The two candidates who cried were all about effect. It was embarrassing to watch. Come in with a decent business plan to start with.

I think Karren was a bit unnecessary but I don't know, I always thought she looked down on some of these girls but she's the one to talk considering her daughter....have you seen the daughter's Instagram?!
I think the girls found it easier to cry to Karren as she has been with the girls throughout the entire process. It's easier to become vulnerable to someone when they have been through with you every step of the way.
The bit to Megan about "... it's Baroness Brady... my friends call me Karren.." was a bit 
. But I assumed Karren but back as Megan was acting a bit defensive... giving a bit of an attitude (though done very subtly which Karren picked up).

The whole interview process makes me cringe. The interviewers are all ridiculously unprofessional and have zero interview skills. I always think they'd be taken to tribunal if they interviewed like that in the real world!

Same! A hairdresser and a sweet shop owner. I mean ffs. The boxer will clearly win, at least she has an original idea. They were all terrible business people. Please let this be the last series.

I was desperate for just one of them to stand up for themselves and answer back and not tolerate the horrible bullying behaviour - not even letting the candidates speak, just ranting at them. The other woman (Linda?) was just as bad, if not worse than Karen IMO. None of them will of course, frightened of upsetting the big man and losing at such a late stage.
I do agree most of the candidates are awful with dreadful business plans mind. I think Marnie will win, best of a bad bunch.

Agree it’s clearly the boxer and it’s always been the boxer. He’s going to open a gym in that location and will already know it’s feasible that he can get the lease.
I agree rhe interviewers have went too far. It’s now about bringing the candidates in and having a right go at them and humiliating them for their mistakes.
karen went too far with the it’s baronness to you nonsense. I actually cringed for her. Not least because they have been calling her Karren for the last ten weeks or so, but more because she shouldn’t weaponise her title to humiliate someone for money and entertainment .
I like the series, but last night I cringed at the interviewers behaviour. They are there to humiliate people for entertainment purposes and should have a bit more about them than to do it and with such relish.
I felt very sorry for Victoria. It was clear they weren’t going ro give her the money, but the comments were horrible. Go back and be an air stewardess, keep it as a hobby. I actually was concerned for her mental health as she was clearly very upset at the humiliation they were giving her.
for me it was a low point.

oh my god I’d forgotten about Victoria at the end - after he’d fired her they called out ‘keep it as a hobby!’ Or something. So unnecessary. I mean she came across really badly and not credible at all but what they said was horrible.

yes you could see she was barely holding it together and close to tears and rhey still humiliated her further.
if we had any manager who behaved like the did in interview it would be their last interview, I can assure you.
what makes me squirm is the whole show is about the capability of the candidates but when it’s the interviewers turn to show their ability they behave like mean bullies.
We have all seen incapable and poor performance by candidates. But few of them have behaved quite as poorly or as unprofessionally as the interviewers.

The interviews have usually been the one of the best episodes in the series. But last nights was dreadful.
It was essentially belittling and bullying.
Karen also was the worst one, with her 'only my friends call me Karen' and 'I live in Belgravia' nonsense. She made 2 of them cry, which were essentially the weakest 2 who didn't need to take that level of bashing. Can only assume Karen thought she had to do that given that she doesn't usually do the interviews. But it was a bit mean from a woman who hasn't got where she is entirely on her own merit. Claude was very mellow compared to previous years interviews, so glad he showed a bit of empathy and didn't rip them to shreds.
I think this years candidates have been the worst. Just the sight of them says enough about them (though Marnie doesn't look to have fiddled with her natural features). Can't TV casting teams start promoting the message that fake looks does not equate to good tv. That may help younger generations and their issues! There was lack of substance over the business plans as majority did not have real intent of going into business, they went for the exposure.
I think Marnie will win as she has more business sense and is genuinely passionate about her idea, however my question over her would be will she listen to advice as she appears extremely headstrong.

Oh, it was dreadful, I agree with pp who said it was bullying - it wasn't remotely professional or decent. There's being blunt & honest and there's being vile, and they've just gone for being horrible to the candidates over any semblance of "interview".

It makes me hoot when they say in the blurb at the beginning about being sone of the finest business minds in the uk (or something similar!) I think many of them
Are total idiots with very little to offer!
