What's this number plate that may have been written down wrong? Missed that.

I need to go back a couple of episodes to check but it's when the police were storming that house and tweedle dum & dee were driving round and round it in their car. Catherine noted the reg plate and told Anne to record it. The next day she was pissed off with Anne because Anne hadn't because she didn't think it was important. Then this episode the camera focused in on the reg number in the form Catherine showed her boss whathisname..So I reckon a plot point is going to hinge on it being recorded wrongly because Anne thought she knew better.

EsmaCannonball · 29/01/2023 23:29

Maybe Darius telling TLR that he's going to Marbella is the equivalent of Alison telling her son he's going to Disneyland? There was definitely an edge to their interactions. Is TLR an asset or a liability?

We've been told that the ending is melancholy. Maybe Ryan kills TLR and Catherine sacrifices herself again by taking the blame? She doesn't get her well-deserved retirement, she gets the inside of a prison cell. Mind you, there's a fundamental decency to Ryan that wouldn't let that happen. (I think.).

duc748 · 29/01/2023 23:30

I also liked that the police didn't jump to any early conclusions about the husband having done it. But I don't think Rob and Faisal are out of the woods yet.

CuriousMama · 29/01/2023 23:28

Ryan showed how caring he is when he said imagine being born like that? About TLR.

Yep he's really sweet natured underneath it all. Thoughtful and kind. And always telling his granny he loves her 😭

LuluBlakey1 · 29/01/2023 23:33

This is what I don't think:
That TLR will be alive at the end
That Catherine will kill him
That Ryan will kill him- although he might try
That Poppy is TLR's daughter
That the PE teacher will be blamed for his wife's death in the end
That Faisal will be alive or a free man at the end of this
That Catherine and Richard will get back together- he's too weak for her

This is what I think are possibilities:
That Neil might 'sacrifice himself' and put himself between Catherine/Ryan and a TLR bullet - healing the rift between Catherine and Claire.
Alison might kill TLR and fix Catherine's landrover and the pair of them and Ryan might go off into the sunset to the Himalayas
Ann might kill TLR and be killed. Nev and her husband might then take Ryan under their wing while Catherine goes off on her landrover thing with Alison or Claire

I can't contemplate Catherine or Ryan dying.

And did we see him do that in the original episode? I don't think so? I know we saw it flashing when Catherine called it, but not how it came to be there.

No. We are seeing the details of Jo's murder in Faisal's flashbacks, including him throwing the phone under the unit.

I don't think the fact that when she was prescribed diazepam she got it from Faizal would matter. Most prescribing has an electronic trace now as barcoded so they can see who prescribed it. They won't assume a pharmacist sold street diazepam though as it's nearly all just got from non pharmacist drug pushers. A pharmacist risking his livelihood selling diazepam is unusual.
I think the 2 junior hoodlums will grass up Faisal

2Rebecca · 29/01/2023 23:35

They can see who dispensed the diazepam I meant

FlyRobinFly · 29/01/2023 23:35

Was glad we weren’t subjected to too much Tweedledum and Tweedledee tonight, bores.

Yes but once they realise Faisal is Joanna’s neighbour they may start to consider he was more than just her local pharmacist

Paleshelter · 29/01/2023 23:38

Just caught up with tonight's episode but not the thread! I thought tonight's episode was the last?! 😫

Haha! Some cock up on the BBC listing I heard

CuriousMama · 29/01/2023 23:42

Surely in that neighbourhood there'll be plenty of CCTV showing Faisal bobbing about?

FlyRobinFly · 29/01/2023 23:42

I must say I don’t think the writing or pacing has been very good this series. Episode 1 was set a few months ago I think as there was the finding of the body and then it jumped to the trial and all of the other shit going on. It’s all a bit disjointed. I’ve been watching the older series and it’s just so, so good. Series 3 isn’t terrible but it doesn’t give me that ‘so, so good’ feeling.

It should have ended on Series 2, with that chilling scene of Catherine and watching Ryan playing on the moors with a look of pure dread in her eyes.

But Faisal did give her the diazepam unprescribed and had warned her to pop out the tablets and get rid of the packet as it was traceable. She didn't do that, and the tablets Catherine took when Joanne was arrested were in the foil packet. When Faisal went to see her after he found out she'd been arrested, he asked her to confirm she's popped the tablets out, and she falsely said she had.

Testina · 29/01/2023 23:43

@2Rebecca “I don't think the fact that when she was prescribed diazepam she got it from Faizal would matter.“

They won’t know whether the packet that I’ve hypothetically located in Poppy’s coat pocket is from the prescribed or illegal “batch”. So they’ll check where it’s from and find it’s the pharmacy where he works. Which won’t be near to her GP or her home.

At the same time, Faisal’s wife will have wanted to be part of the drama and have the gossip for her mates, so will have told the police that her husband said Rob was all of a flutter that morning. They’ll then know that Joanna’s drug’s pharmacist lived on the same road - so every chance they knew each other.

Faisal made far too much of a big deal of explaining to Joanna that she had to ditch the packaging or it would be traced to him. Ergo, it will be traced to him. Chekhov’s Diazepam 🤣

EmmaEmerald · 29/01/2023 23:43

I didn't see tonight's episode yet, probably won't for a while. I just caught up with 2, 3 and 4 this weekend.

claire had no reason whatsoever for what she did.

re the pharmacist, is "injection of thin air" code for a particular drug?

I think that actor has done an excellent job with that character, in very little screen time.

EsmaCannonball · 29/01/2023 23:45

Injecting an air bubble into the bloodstream is a way of killing someone.

I was wondering that...depends how it ends now.

I also wonder how far it was written. When Ashley Cowgill was executed, I knew those two on the bikes would turn out to be important, so I wonder how many seasons were originally written.

MoirasSaggyBundles · 29/01/2023 23:45

If you inject air into a vein, it causes an embolism.

PriamFarrl · 29/01/2023 23:45

I concerned about Ryan. What we are all doing is treating Ryan like he was our own son with a caring upbringing. We are forgetting what a shit show his life has been. With TLR having been out of his life for so long he could have built up the idea that TLR is this amazing guy who could be the dad he didn’t have. It seems crazy but I’ve seen it happen.

I thought it was very interesting that in the recap we say Cathrine saying that TLR is not Ryan’s dad. I’ve always taken that to mean that he might be his biological father but he isn’t a dad to him. I wonder, like was said on the last thread, if he isn’t actually his father.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 29/01/2023 23:46

One possible for me is that Ryan will kill TLR`and Catherine will again sacrifice herself and say she did it and will go down.

other one, Darius will see to TLR and Catherine and Alison will go off in the Landy

or Alison kill TLR with Catherine and they go off in the Landy having blamed Darius. Win win

Has anyone watched this? SW wrote it and just look at the cast.

Something felt off with Darius and TLR in the van.
