It's up to you MonsoonMadness whether you stick with it but it may help to know that the violence is not gratuitous. Most of us on here don't enjoy violence either - we watch because the storyline is gripping, the characters believable and of course, it's classic 'good versus evil'. We want the baddies to get their comeuppance and the goodies to triumph.

Happy Valley Day fellow Tiny Arse phone friends!

T- 9 hours. Going for a long walk with the hound to kill time. He won’t be pleased, he’s a lazy bastard 😂

Can we swap dogs?

Ours can run about at top speed barking and yapping for 4 hours, come back, have a drink of water and then go to the lead hangy place again wanting to be out for another 50 miles.

Netaporter · 15/01/2023 16:29

@Emotionalsupportviper get a Leonberger. Short stroll to the coffee shop where he got a sausage and the sat quietly with me. He’s now out for the count 😂😂

Threadkillacilla · 15/01/2023 16:51

Has anyone not seen this week's trailer?

Always one Wink I will wait then!

I’m going to say something really really shallow now so please don’t hate me, but I love the fact that Sarah Lancashire has put on weight as she has reached middle age. Like lots of women do.

XanaduKira · 15/01/2023 17:08

Me too @Wisterical - Claire betraying her is just awful.

EsmaCannonball · 15/01/2023 17:11

TLR = Telecoms Linked Rectum.

We had a dane (lost him a few months into lockdown. This was pretty much his life. 22 hours asleep. Wake up for a wee, his dinner and a leisurely 20 minute stroll. Kiss the cats. Have a nap to give him the energy to go to bed.

Rinse and repeat. 😄

I'm the same - makes my middle-age spread acceptable.

Have to admit that she still looks fabulous, though . . . not quite so sure that I do 😅

I haven't seen it!

Nor have I!

Xrays · 15/01/2023 17:50

I haven’t seen the trailer yet but just a heads up - incase anyone hasn’t seen it - be careful if you go on the Daily Mail showbiz page as they’ve posted a story about HV and shown a screenshot which is a spoiler for tonight’s episode!! 😞😳🙄 I’m so cross! No spoiler warning either!

Therearemorequestionsthananswers · 15/01/2023 17:50

There’s a wonderful bit of speculation on Twitter, posted an hour ago by #happyvalleybbc - not an official account.

I won’t post a picture in case it’s true and a spoiler, but would explain a few things.

EsmaCannonball · 15/01/2023 17:51

The horrible PE teacher keeps the fridge padlocked, presumably because he's very controlling about food, but in the last episode he came home to find his wife messily preparing dinner, albeit an incredibly healthy dinner, and chugging back the white wine. If she can get her hands on fresh food and wine (especially the wine) when he is not at home, does the padlocked fridge have any other significance? If it was anything sinister then surely he would have removed the padlock to remove suspicion when he knew the police were coming round?

WhoWants2Know · 15/01/2023 18:14

I think Mr Chemist has been pushed too far now and he'll be forced to do something desperate-- and probably fatal. If something happened to the teacher's wife, suspicion would naturally fall on the teacher.

IwantToRetire · 15/01/2023 18:26

@MonsoonMadness I can understand that the violence can be really distressing. And although it isn't shown in great long detail, I think part of the reason for showing it at all, is not just for the crime plot, but to show what Catherine has to deal with, if not every day, but frequently. Maybe this is where her rather strange humour comes from.

But all in all I think the developing story is worth sticking with, and quite honestly when there is violence I often cover me eyes and rely on dialogue returning to then start watching again.

Not long now!! DH has blithely suggested that we put on a three-hour film - I don't blooming think so!

JaneJeffer · 15/01/2023 18:34

I record and wait for everyone to piss off to bed so I can watch in peace

Greatly · 15/01/2023 18:42

Is it correct that TLR fell out with the Kenosvics konesvecs local crime family

If so maybe CC will do a deal with them to off TLR

I think TLR has made up with them by pinning the murder on their rivals.

Think he redeemed himself by saying Chris Oxley from Oldham was responsible for Gary in the reservoir and not Viktor knezevic's ocg.

Netaporter · 15/01/2023 19:03

@Emotionalsupportviper aww sorry for your loss. Big dogs are the best 🤗

T-2hrs peeps! Fuck off any family members that might talk through it. 😂

Thequeenofwishfulthinking · 15/01/2023 19:21

I’ve not seen the trailer either.

AntonDuPig · 15/01/2023 19:38

Well I never knew about those tiny phones!
Gives a whole new meaning to butt dialling 😂
