Noooooo @Poke Grin

the80sweregreat · 17/01/2023 21:30

I just couldn't think of anything worse than driving to the Himalayas ! Mind you, I hate driving to the shops , so not for me
It would take a lot of planning , visas , time , money etc etc
Great adventure I suppose if your that way inclined

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/01/2023 22:15

It would break Catherine imo if Joyce was dodgy

Her two best female friends /family betraying her

Claire and Joyce

No. Blondes stamps good foot. It won't happen !!!

Netaporter · 17/01/2023 22:34

I think reminding us Nevison is rich is significant…rolling up in the Bentley.

wish you a speedy recovery @Blondeshavemorefun

longtompot · 17/01/2023 22:51

@Blondeshavemorefun I thought he was fab in Our Flag Means Death! Hope he is in more episodes

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/01/2023 23:31

Thank you @Netaporter

Yes he was funny @longtompot

He's obv been in a lot of stuff as I recognise his voice. He has a gravelly one if that makes sense

UrsulaPandress · 17/01/2023 23:43

@IwantToRetire

It was Margaret Atwood.

@Blondeshavemorefun oh no. What have you done?

MrsDoylesApron · 17/01/2023 23:45

I don't think Joyce is necessarily dodgy. But there was something about seeing Joanna's name and/or address and/or the diazepam test result that made her twitch.

Blondeshavemorefun · 17/01/2023 23:53

@UrsulaPandress I'm in having a Bostrum ligament construction

Where I slipped over nearly a year ago and have damaged my ankle. Thought was a sprain but as saner getting better after months and painful I had a mri and showed the damage

Never heard of it. Eek. Looks painful.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2023 00:07

It is a tad. Hence why I'm awake
And past midnight

Plus need a wee so need to call nurse

But as previous reply - means I have to sit still and Rewatching happy valley

So silver linings 😂

Blondeshavemorefun Nev Gallagher (George Costigan) played Bob in Rita, Sue and Bob Too back in the 1980's. Don't know if you've seen that. Originally a play by Andrea Dunbar with a VERY different ending to the film which Andrea wasn't happy about. In the original play he gets some proper comeuppance.

He's been in loads of TV, including Sally Wainwright's Unforgiven and Scott and Bailey. He's one of those jobbing actors who you recognise on TV but as he rarely plays the lead you don't usually clock his name.

Siobhan Finneran was also in in Rita, Sue and Bob Too, she was Rita. Excellent actor.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2023 01:47

@WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe yes I've seen Rita and unforgiven so prob that

Blonde by name and blonde by nature.

Tommy is def very cute in s1

Or if that the Drugs talking

If Catherine Cawood doesn't drive off into the sunset with her full pension at the end of all this, I think I'll start a petition or crowd fund her ( once I work out how to do it !)
I hope Sally Wainwright doesn't let me down.
Although it might just end up a Cliff hanger for series four ? .. who knows ?

fairypeasant · 18/01/2023 07:26

They've said no series four. This is the end.

EsmaCannonball · 18/01/2023 07:26

Siobhan Finneran and Sarah Lancashire were in Clocking Off together, and their characters had a great connection in that.

ilovebrie8 · 16/01/2023 09:16

yep I think so! she is the mole ...

Having recently rewatched season one and two when introducing Joyce to Ann, Catherine says something like “Joyce knows everything and everyone”…. a clue?

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 18/01/2023 08:03

I could see Joyce being a mole if the 3 series had the gang being fed information, but there's been nothing like that has there?
I really hope she's not. There's got to be an escape bid with TLR, I just can't see where Neckbeard is coming into play.

storminabuttercup · 18/01/2023 08:41

The only way Joyce will turn out to be a mole is if sally let Jed Mecurio write the last episode. Same as anyone we know turning out to be TLR's dad, or planes being hijacked or any of that.

We know who the baddies are always in HV it's a reach to suggest the writing style will change.

This

Maybe nothing will happen
Tommy won't escape, Catherine will fall out with ryan and Claire and leave Happy Valley forever.

Emotionalsupportviper · 18/01/2023 09:05

Poke · 17/01/2023 21:25

I disagree. Joyce is up to something!

Agree - she may not be "dodgy" as such, but there is definitely something going on - she's recognised a name or summat and it has struck a chord, a memory, whatever . . . something's going on.

Gosh - I do hope so. 😶

That would be . . . lovely . . . 😬

<toneless voice>

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/01/2023 09:34

Well it's def not happy valley 😂😂

Yes maybe Joyce knew the name /address and alarms bells ringing and she will do some detective work helping Catherine

Butwhytho · 18/01/2023 09:44

I have to admit, I’m still raging at bloody Catherine chucking Ryan out. That just didn’t seem like something she’d do. I know shes had her issues with Ryan in the past but to just kick him out just like that feels very short sighted.

the80sweregreat · 18/01/2023 09:48

She is taking her angst out on Ryan rather than Clare and Neil ( for now , anyway ! )
Maybe his just an easier target ? She did say to him to dwell on it and his been round about homework etc , so she hasn't entirely cut him off.
It feels out of character, but I also understand it too
