That's comforting to know. Just in case we ever fall out with our friend who is a pharmacist Grin

I have 2 pharmacist friends! Better be extra nice to them.

My prediction is that Sarah Lancashire will go from star to superstar. She.has such a range of acting skills and Sally Wainwright feeds her scenes which allow her to demonstrate her astonishing ability.
The scene in the cafe between Catherine and Clare is an example.
Catherine's suppressed anger, her self control when she lists all the offences against herself and others while Clare babbles on about peace and reconciliation with Tommy turning out well was so well written.Silly Clare looked into.Catherine's face, full of pain and bewilderment that.her sister has betrayed her, and all the while foolish Clare keeps.on babbling. The tension in this scene gave me the shivers.

Wouldn't that have happened by now?

If the real police every struggle with a whodunit mystery they should just post the case files here in telly addicts. Mumsnetters would have it solved in ten minutes.

We are an untapped goldmine of wild speculation and (semi)informed conjecture.

We are wasted here - WASTED! 😁

Maybe the ending isn’t Catherine dying, but alienating her family and ending up alone (perhaps having a close friendship with Alison). I don’t agree with going behind Catherine’s back but I can see why Claire is frustrated. Catherine is so blinded by the trauma of Becky’s death (not her fault) that she cannot think rationally when it comes to Ryan. It’s clear Claire doesn’t think TLR is an angel or anything, she acknowledges he should never get out of prison, but I think she feels closure to the situation would be for Ryan to know TLR for himself, and hopefully be at peace with his relationship with his dad.

Catherine prefers to bury her head in the sand, and has spent years biting Ryan’s head off at any mention of TLR. It’s obvious why Ryan went to Neil and Claire for help.

It was awful of Catherine not to tell Ryan the truth, he’s not thick.

I think Claire wants everything out in the open with the Becky situation, she wants everybody to have closure and move on. But then Becky isn’t Claire’s daughter, she’s Catherine’s, and Catherine will never be able to have the idealistic closure that Claire wants.

I'm suprised though, that Claire feels it's OK to take Ryan into a high security prison, but not OK to tell him what happened to his mother.

I think it's just the fringe

I don't think so, I first thought it when she was sitting in the garden, and her hair was fully slapped back then

Hello everyone! I am a recent convert to HV having binged series 1 & 2 last week.

I have a question about Catherine’s son. Didn’t he have a child in series 1? But this child has never been mentioned again.

I can’t see Catherine letting him get away with being a neglectful dad.

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 16/01/2023 20:41

Hi Itstoday, yeah just no mention so far, it's a bit odd.

Tbf he's only appeared twice, once briefly at Ryan's birthday tea and secondly for 2 mins at their house when Nev visited so there's every chance he sees his dc it's just maybe not relevant to the storyline.

storminabuttercup · 16/01/2023 20:47

@Emotionalsupportviper - didn't Catherine say yesterday that Claire has since told him everything?

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/01/2023 20:56

I think Vile Teacher is grooming vulnerable boys to sexual abuse.

His wife said he gets particularly unpleasant and on edge until he has another boy in his sights.

Mintyt · 16/01/2023 21:07

I think that Cathrine will lose her retirement pension for hitting that chap

It was self defence tho

Are coppers not allowed to hit baddies and drug lords

Wingedharpy · 16/01/2023 21:20

Don't think so blondes.😂
There's all that " innocent until proven guilty" malarkey first - and even after that, I don't think slapping about a bit is condoned.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2023 21:24

He hit her first @Wingedharpy

tho she pulled his pants down

legofrostqueen · 16/01/2023 21:24

TLS will take Ryan to Leeds to the court (perhaps Clare will tell Neil not to), the ICG will spring Tommy, & all hell will break loose...definitely a LOD vibe but i could still barely breath during the Catherine-Clare cafe scene, such was the tension...love Ann's house & hair...

mizu · 16/01/2023 21:36

@Janiie grubby Neil GrinGrin

WandaWonder · 16/01/2023 21:49

Did they ever do a DNA test to prove he is the father?

Supersimkin2 · 16/01/2023 21:53

I reckon C makes it to the Himalayas and gets killed by one of the local
drug farmers who supplies to the Kinesovics.

They’ve really upgraded their police station offices since last series 😮

Think it's the new Bradford station?

FuckKnowsMate · 16/01/2023 22:08

I wonder if Joyce has also been getting some pills of some kind (maybe Diazepam too) from Faisal and she recognised Joanne’s street name as it’s also Faisal’s address. Not sure why she would look so worried about it though or where it fits in with the story

Surely Joanna will be found within hours of her death so even if they suspect neckbeard initially the pathologist will be confident about time of death and he will have an alibi as he will be at school.

And YY TLR will escape from court so there can be a face off with Catherine. Reckon Ryan will have to make a choice at that point.

ignores fact TLR has pleaded guilty so would just appear by video link in real life dramatic licence and all that

And she put those pills in her jeans pocket...

Towntroubadour · 16/01/2023 22:15

Faisal and Joanna 😂
