yep agree @JaneJeffer she is ether the mole or jo's mother maybe...there is a connection/reason she reacted as she did...😉

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 16/01/2023 12:50

I don't believe Joyce will be Jo's mum, Catherine has known her for years.
Joyce's unseen daughter marrying the OCG fella maybe, but even that would be going a bit far I think.

ElfDragon · 16/01/2023 12:52

My first thought when I watched is that Joyce is connected in some way to the pharmacist. She saw something in the info, and seemed alarmed. I wonder if she is related to the pharmacy owner somehow - Faisal just manages the shops, doesn’t he, for his uncle (I think)?

re: Faisal and the air embolus, there was definitely quite a significant bit on how he always wanted more, to be a doctor, but couldn’t afford the training, so I’d guess he has either done partial training and dropped out, or extra training at some point which would give him the skills.

JaneJeffer · 16/01/2023 12:52

Imagine the poor woman who is going to marry that Knezevic idiot!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2023 12:56

Amazed so many picked up on Joyce

I didn’t

I thought she was her great friend

D’you think they’ll get through the full ceremony? I’m happily anticipating quite spectacular carnage - gangs and police racing to the venue, laden with weapons …

Remember in s2 they had a bit of a row after a night out, she bought Catherine a cactus after?

JaneJeffer · 16/01/2023 13:06

@MetaDaughter shit is definitely going to go down Grin

MrsDoylesApron · 16/01/2023 13:10

I also wonder if Joyce is related to or knows Faisal in some way. The information on the screen that caused her to look very uncomfortable was Joanna's name, address, phone number and the lab result confirming the pills were diazepam.
Perhaps she recognised the address as a couple of doors up from Faisal. There was a lot of emphasis in that episode of them being near neighbours with Faisal seeing evil teacher leave the house and his subsequent comic stumbling round the back of the gardens.

I think the shops belong to Faisal’s father-in-law. Doesn’t his sister-in-law manage the other?

I'm surprised she's not been on the Relationship board on here. LTB!!!!

LadyEloise1 · 16/01/2023 13:13

I thought Faisal's father in law owned the shops. 🧐
In the Valley of the Squinting Windows ( a book title ) where I used to live, there would be no way Faisal wouldn't be spotted by a nosy neighbour.
Surprising horrible abusive PE teacher doesn't have a Ring doorbell and security at the back to keep an eye on "the wife" while he's out - see who is calling, what she's up to.

Faisal’s daughters said that their grandparents would only pay for one child to study medicine so Faisal had to do a shorter degree - pharmacy. There seem to be quite a few reasons why Faisal might have a chip on his shoulder.

JaneJeffer · 16/01/2023 13:15

Ah but @LadyEloise1 we live in Ireland

I think Faisal will commit suicide.
He's not a natural murderer- whatever that is.
He's a man on the brink, struggling to keep up with his more affluent relatives and the increasing demands for things from his wife (she wants expensive decking) and kids.
He's probably up to his eyeballs in debt.

I think he already has. I think he used the syringe full of air on himself not Joanne.

LadyEloise1 · 16/01/2023 13:16

Brilliant @JaneJeffer 😂

Neil was loathsome anyway but watching TLR sneer horribly ‘who?’ when he mentions Catherine, and Neil replying ‘sorry’, made me utterly furious at him and actually at Ryan too. Whatever they think about her efforts to keep Ryan from Tommy, they both know she’s raised him pretty much single-handedly and loves him fiercely, complex and imperfect as she might be.

Yes - Catherine's take down of neck beard at school was awesome.

Don't criticise the women who backchatted my enemy.

MrsDoylesApron · 16/01/2023 13:18

And what is the significance of Catherine leaving her reading glasses on the desk? Was there something in the rest of that episode she hasn't seen or read properly because she didn't have them with her? Or when she gets back to her office are they going to have mysteriously moved because Joyce has been snooping?

Pl242 · 16/01/2023 13:21

I don’t think there is much to Joyce. It’s not LOD! Maybe that scene more showing Catherine rushing/being busy, setting her up to overlook/forge my something. Potentially re Jo and linking up dots to gang and the car she spotted.

MrsDoylesApron · 16/01/2023 13:26

There is definitely something going on with Joyce. I played back the scene on iPlayer because I couldn't read what was on the screen Catherine was looking at. There's a close up shot of Joyce reading it over her shoulder and swallowing hard.

Good point, she read the car reg number and told Ann to make a note of it. Bet it gets recorded wrongly or something.

MrsDoylesApron · 16/01/2023 13:32

Yes, I wondered that about the accuracy of the car reg. But then thought the glasses she used for her screen are unlikely to be the distance glasses she'd need to see for car number plates ie the equivalent of driving.
I may be overthinking this!

foxlover47 · 16/01/2023 13:39

I even thought when she grabbed the dodgy one and got him
On the floor that the other two lads might get out and batter her to get hold of him as there were no other police there at the time

Osteospermum · 16/01/2023 13:40

What if Rob PE teacher is thinking of getting rid of his wife because if she is charged with anything, he thinks it will reflect on him and ruin his career. He has found out about Ryan's past (through Cesco) and is grooming him so he can they lay the blame on Ryan, not realising that Jo is already on the floor, possibly dead, and Ryan having a genuine alibi.

QueenSmartypants · 16/01/2023 13:45

I thibk you've picked up on something though. I assumed there'd be a problem with the care reg because she told someone else to make a note of it and they probably weren't paying attention.

They didn't repeat it back, so either they don't hear or at all or they don't note it down.

But perhaps the glasses have something in it, she did squint at the car after all
