Agree with others that this didn't seem that strong an episode, apart from the start when Catherine and Clare were in the cafe.
Clare was torn between putting Neil first or Cahterine, and even though he had gone behind her back to arrange the first prison visit, she chose to cover this up (and they are bother scared of Catherine).
I think as others have suggest the OCG have somehow persuaded Neil to do this because this is their way of repaying TLR for owning up for something he didn't do. (And as others are now suggesting maybe an escape plan for the court date). And the way TLR spoke to Neil and he just took it made it seem he is the one being used.
I think Catherine when talking to Ryan on the doorstep wasn't as convincing in her just trust me when I say he is a bad person, and starting off with this evil isn't inherited is about her obsession re Ryan but struck no cord with him.
I think it was said in series one that Beck denied being raped but Catherine saw it as that. What I am not sure is if something happened after Ryan was born that made her suicidal or that she realised that TLR had no feelings for her. A lot of story is told from Catherine's view of the world.
I was quite touched that Catherine's son seemed to have sympathy for her after finding out about the prison visits and clearly the impact on Ann. In all our previous postings I dont think any of us thought about that.
And Catherine's cowardly husband admitting that he had been a shit to leave her to cope with adopting Ryan. I thought there might be one of those family gatherings, without Neil, Clare or Ryan, to work out what to do.
I was quite convinced by the chemist turning violent. He has got totally out of his depth with the OCG moning in on his small scale dealing. And then when he gets himself all physced up and prepared to get rid of the disgusting tearcher Jo lets on she's been lying. He was right on the edge and that pushed him over. Wonder if he did syringe her with an air bubble. And as the OCG had told him to get rid ofboth husband and wife how was he going to do that.
Apart from the talk between Catherine and Clare at the start, the part in the gym where the teacher was talking to Ryan really made my skin crawl. And somehow this relationship will be significant, maybe another wedge between Ryan and Catherine as she will be sure the husband is guilty and Ryan will defend him or give him an alibi. I thought how the schoolfriend let slip all the details was really well done, believable.
There will be a link with the raid on the house and Catherine (of course) has taken note of the car circling the block. And they are the ones threatening the chemist, so it will all link.
Did anyone recognise the actor who came to the house where the bundling criminals were and told them they had to kill the one who was holding the blind woman captive. That whole story line of the woman being taken advantage off by the men, and then trying to escape. When she was so vulnerable anyway because of being blind.
I am wondering now whether the ending will be Ryan getting killed because too late he realises just how evil TLR is, and that in some plot twist Catherine is in danger. Ryan thinks he's going to Spain with TLR but realises TLR isn't going to go without getting revenge on Catherine so Ryan attempts to alert her.
The closing scene will be Catherine sitting alone in her house, while up the road Neil and Clare are sad about TLR not being savable after all.
