I’m with you @TokyoSushi , this episode seemed a bit off kilter but will have to wait and see how the threads come together.

Netaporter · 15/01/2023 22:20

I did think Neil was TLR Dad, but now after this episode, no. There is a lack of motive as to why he’s gone against Catherine tho.

Rhondaa · 15/01/2023 22:21

Claire and Neil really have spoilt it a bit. Yes she's thick but always seemed loyal, I could understand if she'd kept a letter hidden or something but facilitating visiting with grubby Neil is just unbelievable. I think he just fancies himself as being Ryan's saviour. Meddling where he had no right to.

I really hope Catherine gives Neil what for at some point.

Loving the Alien support officer Grin.

heartbroken22 · 15/01/2023 22:21

Neil was always afraid of Cathrine in season 2 and he told her she only arrested him because she doesn't like him. Bet he felt humiliated getting arrested and was willing to get a little bit of revenge on Catherine by going against her wishes. Claire's a dimwit. I'd be happy to disown her for life for being so stupid.

Will creepy groomer teacher go down for killing Jo and then TLR will get him whilst in prison for grooming Ryan?

I said this to DH! @AntonDuPig

@Seeingadistance

Have you watched S1?

No, this series is first I've watched. Will need to catch up, and do want to, but also aware it will be really intense.

Will look for a summary of previous series so I can work out who's who.

Rollergirl11 · 15/01/2023 22:25

Are the Kneževićs going to break TLR out when he’s in court in Leeds on Tuesday?

UrsulaPandress · 15/01/2023 22:26

Omg @Seeingadistance

Get it binge watched now!!

Netaporter · 15/01/2023 22:26

Are the Kneževićs going to break TLR out when he’s in court in Leeds on Tuesday?

That hadn't occurred to me. I don't know how I'm going to cope over the next week.

The tension is killing me.

Are the Kneževićs going to break TLR out when he’s in court in Leeds on Tuesday?

I wondered that. The court case has been mentioned a few times and he did them a favour naming someone else regarding Gary Goggoski. We know it's the last series so reckon Royce ends up in a face off with Catherine up on't moors.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 15/01/2023 22:28

I'll eat my hat if something doesn't happen when TLR is in court or being taken to/from court. (Shades of LOD there!)

I'd be amazed if none of the neighbours have seen Faizel creeping along the ginnel to Jo's house. So we'll see how that pans out.

Netaporter · 15/01/2023 22:28

Also loved the sudden interjection in the tense doorstep conversation between catherine and Ryan about what he’s having for his tea. “Stew”
”oh, that’ll be alright” 😂
genius.

duc748 · 15/01/2023 22:28

Neil's no criminal mastermind, like Clare, he's weak and not too bright. But I did think that even by teenage boy standards, Ryan seemed a bit gullible. He had Rob's number before, would he really be taken in like that? And does he not know that TLR poured petrol over his grandmother? And if he doesn't, isn't it about time he was told?

Second this!!!

duc748 · 15/01/2023 22:29

Agree that Faisal and Joanna does look a bit of a plot device.

Netaporter · 15/01/2023 22:31

Just leaving this here to illustrate my point…

All a bit improbable tonight. The Faisal attack looked rather ridiculous.

Platinumpennies · 15/01/2023 22:33

Ryan - ‘Revenge is a dish best served cold’ said twice.

Reckon Ryan is out to get his dad.

Greatly · 15/01/2023 22:33

I thought this was the weakest episode so far in the whole series.

TLR poured petrol over Ryan, so he definately knows about that

EmilyDickinson · 15/01/2023 22:34

I think that because Claire used to be an addict, works with addicts and is in a relationship with someone who is a recovering alcoholic she firmly believes in the power of people to change and reform. This means that she always sees the best in people and is much more of an optimist than Catherine. In previous series where Catherine has seen Ryan acting out as proof that he is going to turn out just like TLR Claire has been the one who has always believed Ryan is basically good.

The point Catherine made about the chance of TLR influencing Ryan seemed to hit home though.

I thought Catherine was very restrained talking to Ryan. I think the fear of him turning out like TLR is more or less gone. She’s left with her terrible grief and PTSD from Becky’s suicide. She doesn’t seem able to tell Ryan about what TLR did to Becky. I think that she fears what learning that he’s the result of rape could do to him.

I’m not that convinced by Faisal murdering Joanne. He doesn’t seem the type to get violent. Rob will get the blame initially - if he doesn’t have an alibi. Won’t he be at school though? The girls aren’t there so it must be during the school day and they’ll be able to work out the time of death. Plus Faisal opened and shut the back door before he put his gloves on.

The irony of “kindness” being on the wall as a murder is plotted and executed.

Ikeameatballs · 15/01/2023 22:34

I told DP last week that Faisal would kill Joanna and not Rob.

I think TLR will escape in Leeds and try to kidnap or get Ryan to run off with him.

foxlover47 · 15/01/2023 22:34

I watch it all stressed and then I re watch it to enjoy it lol

Rollergirl11 · 15/01/2023 22:25

Are the Kneževićs going to break TLR out when he’s in court in Leeds on Tuesday?

Well TJR seemed very keen to plead guilty for a crime there was no real proof for = a court date, he seemed very keen that his son would also be in court. That seems a lot of coincidences
