De-rail - just looking at what is happening in Ukraine. Those poor people. This is so dreadful. And it's real.

Soory - going back on track now. It's just so heartbreaking.

dapsnotplimsolls · 15/01/2023 22:07

I was also distracted by Ann's lovely hair!

Lottapianos · 15/01/2023 22:08

The cafe scene and the scene at the front door with Ryan were fantastic. Was begging her to tell Ryan the truth about what TLR did to his mum - it will be awful, but he needs to know. As Clare said, what a bloody mess

Think the Faisal and Joanna storyline is the weak link in this series - it's pretty baggy and overwrought, and I'm not sure what it's adding so far, other than yet another example of the violence that women have to put up with from men

Every character seemed to be in agony this week. Very tough watch

Seeingadistance · 15/01/2023 22:08

How is Anne, the CID lady?, connected to Catherine?

Emotionalsupportviper · 15/01/2023 22:09

dapsnotplimsolls · 15/01/2023 22:06

Can the pills be traced back to Faisal's pharmacy? I assume the number she wrote on her arm is connected to the pills?

I think they can - wasn't he worried about them being taken out of the packaging, and Jo swore blind they had been even though they hadn't?

IconicKitty · 15/01/2023 22:09

Are Ann and Catherine's son now an item? Not sure if I missed something

I assume that was just a mobile number

And I thought maybe the drugs test may show they are harmless so no crime Abs Faisal killed her unnecessary. I also thought Faisal was always planning on killing both of them Friday night, he just wanted it to look murder /suicide

UrsulaPandress · 15/01/2023 22:10

@Seeingadistance

Have you watched S1?

Yes. Think they’re married now? Definitely together anyway.

Emotionalsupportviper · 15/01/2023 22:10

That's a thought @burnoutbabe - the thugs told him to get rid of both of them, and now he's effectively botched it.

They'll panic if Neckbeard is arrested for her murder, because of what they think he can tell the police.

LuluBlakey1 · 15/01/2023 22:11

She is/was really manipulative though- the horrible PE teacher's wife- I think the weedy chemist is under such stress he'd get charged with manslaughter, not murder.

I'm furious with Neil and Claire- they are, both of them, pathetic, weak and dim.

Can't decide why Ryan is so drawn to TLR. He seems to see him clearly in some ways but is so insistent on having contact with him.

Not connecting the dots yet between the different strands.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2023 22:11

Omfg

Blondes fans herself

I thought chemist might wallop her and he bloody did

Now to inject air into her to kill her

Poor jo tho she shouldn't have lied

Rob will get the blame

Ans why shouldn't Catherine hit that bloke. He hit her first

Funny she tried to pull his trousers off

What an episode

Heart is pounding

Only 3 more to go forever

Oh, Claire, Claire, CLAIRE! How could you be so completely stupid? And bloody Neil! So self-righteous and entitled. 'If I didn't take him, who would?' Well, yes, that's the entire point, you idiot. Ryan wouldn't be able to go unless you facilitated it. I can't believe that Claire thought it was ok to enable a relationship between Ryan and TLR before Ryan was able to fully appreciate the things that TLR has done. I can't believe that stupid Claire put the unlikely prospect of reforming TLR before her own family. It's only a Sunday night drama, and I am so frustrated with the pair of them. Grrrr!

Yep!! I am totally raging at Claire and Neil, especially Claire, that they think this is ok! It’s actually made me slightly annoyed at the series for the first time as it’s verging on unbelievable that Claire dares to talk about forgiveness to Catherine after everything TLR has done to her family and friends.

AntonDuPig · 15/01/2023 22:13

Will creepy groomer teacher go down for killing Jo and then TLR will get him whilst in prison for grooming Ryan?

Interesting!

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 15/01/2023 22:14

Phew!

That was a watch!

LadyEloise1 · 15/01/2023 22:14

So is mine !

WhoWants2Know · 15/01/2023 22:15

AntonDuPig · 15/01/2023 21:56

Pfizer will kill her and Groomer teacher will go down for it.

That's exactly what I predicted up thread.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2023 22:15

Why is Neil so happy to help Tommy

And our Ryan.

It's weird he said that

Wondering if he somehow related to Ryan /Tommy

I said I thought Tommy wasn't his dad and was Neil

But that means whole story and Becky and Catherine is all false and what happy valley is about

But thinking now he isn't his dad as in Ryan's. But he's tommys dad

Do we know about Tommy's parents at all ?

Could Neil be tommys dad and Ryan's grandad ?

Need to rewatch that whole hour again

I've done this each week as I always seem to miss bits!

Bloody brilliant.

Me too! My head is pounding from concentrating so much 😂

TitsInAbsentia · 15/01/2023 22:18

I don't see Neil being Ryan's dad, his whole demeanor changed in the prison, I'm not feeling it.

But also, Ryan isn't a child, why hasn't he been told more? Why hasn't he asked his uncle for example?

Pl242 · 15/01/2023 22:18

I really don’t think there is any conspiracy theory re Neil/Claire and why they’re facilitating the prison visits. They clearly (and massively misguidedly) think it’s the right thing to do/better to have someone he knows taking Ryan rather than him trying to do it another way.

That’s what is so good about HV. It shows people and all their infallabilities. Claire and her theories about some kind of rehabilitation of TLR. Catherine and her inability not to push Ryan away when he really needs her, because of her pain.

Wisterical · 15/01/2023 22:19

@Whatatimetobealivetoday I reckon Clare will have got all that forgiveness guff from AA.

Retraite40 · 15/01/2023 22:20

I think the podcast is rather self congratulatory and infantile with the commentators giggling at their asinine commentary. So disappointing. As this comes off the back of an outstanding serious crime story.
