Who will be victorious?

OP posts:
AzerJoon · 22/12/2022 23:22

Wilf needed to keep Kieran in so he could have got him out when he sent himself.
But how was he supposed to know there would be that twist.

I feel sorry for Keiran to be honest
And I wanted wilf to win.

Womencanlift · 22/12/2022 23:22

So after the success of this series do you think the BBC will buy the rights to the Australian version so we can watch it (legally)?

Also a US version starts early next year with Alan Cumming in the Claudia role. Would love to see that as I love him!

The stupidest thing was when one of the women said " He can't be a traitor; he has children." Was that Hannah?

I hope in S 2 they introduce some brainy challenges so that it is in the interest of the traitors to keep some of the brainy contestants, not the thickest.

It was Maddy.

They do give people personalities and edit accordingly. But that's part of the fun.

Lentilweaver · 22/12/2022 23:24

I feel like an entire Phd thesis on female psychology could be written on how Hannah and Meryl spent the whole day agreeing that the Traitor was a man, and then voted out Maddy because they were annoyed at her. Poor Maddy.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/12/2022 23:19

I was thinking that if I was on the show I'd speak up and be like How About We Stop This Percent Crap, because everyone can say it and it proves nothing

Sometimes a Faithful said something very convincing and the traitors, especially Wilf, would leap on it and keep repeating it. "I know I'm Faithful", "I'm 100% Faithful" and "If you vote for me, you'll feel so terrible when I stand up there and tell you I'm a Faithful" were the top ones, I think.

Adultchildofelderlyparents · 22/12/2022 23:29

I was rooting for Wilf until he turned on Amanda. Then he really overplayed his hand towards then end.
Kieron had the poisoned chalice. He didn't want to be a traitor and didn't do it well. Though he went out in style. If he was going down he was taking Wilf out with him!
I'm pleased with how it ended. If I was Aaron's mum I would be so proud of him.
I think Maddy deserves a bonus prize for calling out Wilf every week consistently.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 22/12/2022 23:33

Maddy was a lesson in that to a degree there is a popularity contest element running from the first episode. Maddy had no friends left.

Maddy was the most hostile player out of all of them but played on the ditzy act to get away with it

The actress played an excellent part but every so often, especially at the round table, her true colours came out, particularly towards Aaron

Janedoe82 · 22/12/2022 23:39

Wilf lost because of greed. If he had stuck with Keiron he would have got 50k. Silly man

vincettenoir · 22/12/2022 23:39

@Lentilweaver 100% agree. And Aaron voted for her too. I don’t think they actually suspected her. They were too caught up in their infighting and misplaced loyalties.

Oher · 22/12/2022 23:39

Awrite · 22/12/2022 22:09

Wilf's mistake was inviting Kieran to be a traitor. He should have powered on ahead on his own.

Anyway, as long as Aaron got to take money back to his Mum, that's all I wanted

He wasn’t allowed to carry on alone, Claudia told Wilf he had to receuit someone and they would either accept or die. It was basically the producers trying to set it up so the faithful would win. Without that, Wilf would have won easily. But with a reluctant ‘recruit’ that Wilf couldn’t resist backstabbing? Wilf was doomed by the producers…

Oher · 22/12/2022 23:40

(As was Kieran).

lljkk · 22/12/2022 23:44

The Traitors had huge advantages at beginning, it makes sense (& good telly) to give them huge disadvantages at the end.

It's like a real life Prisoner's Dilemma.

justcantgetenough · 22/12/2022 23:46

I was disappointed WIll didn't win, I just wanted to see there shocked faces.

Anyway great show, Will lost it when he got rid off Amanda and had to recruit Kieran, who then went to pieces. Didn't like the way he outed Will, there was no way the others would have not gone for Kieran.

I don't think Amos and Kieran coming back in halfway was fair. Also if any future series, just play dumb and you'll get to the final. Be clever and you'll be murdered.

I don't think Claudia should have picked the Traitors, get folks to volunteer to be a Traitor but then would anyone volunteer?

One off the best reality shows and you can see a celebrity version coming. Just thought the tasks were rather boring.

I enjoyed the mole on Netflix as well. Sort off the other way round as you don't know who the mole is but they have to sabotage the tasks so the money pot goes down if the mole is successful. Plus voting is different so not as much arguing!

JaneJeffer · 23/12/2022 00:09

So happy for Aaron. He's such a lovely lad. Kieran got his revenge very nicely. I wonder how stupid Hannah felt although the money will soften the blow. Meryl was so easy to convince and voted Wilf out after saying she thought the traitors were all gone just a minute before.

To the person who said watch the Australian series (I saw the comment as I was catching up and now I can’t find it again!) where did you watch it please? Smile

What a final!

Wilf stacked it by panicking when Kieran implicated him. If he'd stayed a bit calmer he could potentially have pulled off a lie something like "look guys, I made a secret pact with Kieran to vote you all off and split the money with him but I've changed my mind and so he's pissed" or something. He went too mad and that's when he gave Hannah an ultimatum and generally looked very guilty.

To me, if I have to stand in a room screaming "I'm 100% faithful I swear on my life" etc when that's not true then I've gone too far. It's not worth it even for £100k.

Glad the winners won (agree would have been even better if meryl had been kicked out for wanting to end the game). I really like Hannah and Aaron (funny how some people find Hannah annoying I don't at all) and at least they showed a bit of brain at the end there.

Adeckofcards · 23/12/2022 00:26

I'm glad neither Wilf nor Kieron won.

Wilf was ALWAYS going to vote Kieron off. I'm not sure that Kieron should have been allowed say who the other traitor was (which he effectively did). If all the traitors did that, there wouldn't be a game. Wilf was greedy and reeked of desperation when he threatened never to speak to them again. I did not like him at all but he played a good game. Kieron was too angry a person to be on a tv show at all imo.

I was over invested in this tv show. If Wilf and/or Kieron won, I would have been really disappointed. On reflection, I enjoyed the last programme only because I felt the right people won. Probably not the tv show for me as I'd have felt I'd wasted twelve hours if Wilf/Kieron won. Overall a great one off tv show and a unique one for me as I've never watched something like that before.

WhatsitWiggle · 23/12/2022 00:33

Just caught up! I'm going to have to watch that round table again, I think all the comments from Kieran about someone playing a blinder started to put doubts at least in Hannah's mind.

He really was a reluctant traitor though, his body language completely changed.

Loved the coloured flame, so dramatic!

Meryl's face when they had to vote again, totally clueless.

I'm not sure how I feel about the people who've won, as PP have said, they were simply the most trusting and easily manipulated, the smart ones got murdered.

I don't believe Will's "I'm so glad for you all" - he's a better bloody actor than Maddy!

SilentHedges · 23/12/2022 00:57

Perfect plot twist: Amanda is Aaron's Mum 🤣

Frabbits · 23/12/2022 01:11

That ending was rubbish.

It was in the rules from the very start that the traitors were not allowed to just come out and reveal the other traitors, and that's exactly what Kieron did.

From that point onwards anyone who was a faithful had nothing to lose in voting him out. Either he was a traitor and they stopped him from winning, or he was a faithful and they shared the money 3 ways rather than 4, so it made the ending utterly predictable.

Ineedaholidaynowplease · 23/12/2022 01:16

Lobed the show but really disappointed with ending - definitely feel like Kieron cheated with the parting gift comment , I feel sorry for some of you comments and eye moving to Will. Not at all in the spirit of the game - as soon as K was outed as a traitor, the only logical conclusion was that W was too.

W was sneaky and back stabbing bit he out manoeuvred Alyssa and Amanda within the rules of the game no matter how morally dubious. Feel like he wss set up by the producers by being forced to pick another traitor - no benefit to him doing so after he'd just worked to maximise his chances by offing Amanda.

I wasn't a massive fan of his but there is no doubting he played the best game of the final 5 and most deserved to win. If K hadn't been such a sore loser, I think W would have easily won. Such a shame as kind of makes me think whats the point in watching a 2nd series if traitors can be outed like that- no skill in winning involvd

JaneJeffer · 23/12/2022 01:56

Technically Kieran didn't break the rules. Wilf should have played it cool and asked what the hell was that all about instead of freaking out. Once Wilf was voted out he more or less told them he was the final traitor too.

RosalindsAFuckingNightmare · 23/12/2022 02:09

Great show and loved the ending, was convinced Will was going to win although I didn't want him to. Thanks for the threads and comments too.
