As one officer said, "it's a juicy one"

The Go Fund Me is now at £127k. Amazing.

Scrotey smug little cunts -1
victim - 0

My sympathy lies with the victims. And it isn’t those two little scrotes.

There is no deterrent for these little bastards. And if they are well enough to go back on the rob they are well enough not to go seeking compensation.

Showmethecardis · 01/12/2022 17:12

Why are people giving this man their money? I don’t get it. People are so odd

DillDanding · 01/12/2022 17:59

I donated some money.

I felt very sorry for him and his wife. I do not think he should not have been charged, but I do think a custodial sentence was very harsh. I wanted to help them recover what they’ve lost.

Stupid

ArcaneWireless · 01/12/2022 18:08

I don’t find it odd.

I think it is a show of solidarity from those who are sick and tired of the judicial system letting criminals run riot with little taps on the wrist or ridiculous sentences for ruining lives or stealing irreplaceable possessions.

I suppose people find it hugely unfair that he was given a custodial sentence for a heat of the moment decision when those who planned to do wrong did not.

I feel nothing for contempt for the two thieves and I have zero sympathy for them. They are not the victims here.

intervie · 01/12/2022 18:09

But he did lose control of his car while probably driving like an idiot in a fit of red mist

DohaDragon · 01/12/2022 18:13

I did think with no witness and no dash cam if he’d said the motorbike crashed on it’s own and that maybe he slightly hit it after it had crashed maybe he would have got away with it? He probably did himself no favours by being so honest.

I agree!. Just goes to show the system works if you know how to play it.....obviously continuously saying "no comment" is the way to go.
Im really interested to know of the jury unanimously found him guilty, I know I would have found it extremely difficult to if I were on it....in fact I wouldnt have!

DohaDragon · 01/12/2022 18:31

Well I guess because he admitted it they had no choice to find him guilty. Whereas if he’d denied hitting them first they might not have believed him but it would have given the jury the chance to find him not guilty if they wanted.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/12/2022 18:34

I don't think the seriousness of the situation had dawned on him at that moment. And he was trying to process in his own mind what had happened.

OP posts:
Toddlerteaplease · 01/12/2022 18:35

@Ilikewinter if you've ever watched crash detectives. You'll realise that they can work out exactly what's happened by stuffing the scene. So unlike y he's have got away with a half truth.

OP posts:
DeeofDenmark · 01/12/2022 18:43

I have no problem with the jury finding him guilty, it is the sentence I disagree with I think is solely in the hands of the judge. It feels like he was made an example of.

Absolutely nuts, I don't think he deserve's charitable handouts for putting peoples lives at risk and I very highly doubt it was the first time he has acted like a reckless idiot on the road. What was he going to do had they not crashed? I think the scrotes absolutely deserved to be locked away of course as they will continue doing what they do but they were no longer a threat as soon as they were spotted they ran straight off so Adam was completely in the wrong.

DillDanding · 01/12/2022 19:31

i agree he was in the wrong. But I think the sentence plus a driving ban was too harsh. A driving ban, yes. But why not suspend his sentence? Perhaps if those moronic career criminals had received custodial sentences, it might not have jarred as much.

Adam has now announced that any further donations will be going to charity.

I can’t help but think he’s a decent guy who did something idiotic in the heat of the moment.

Toddlerteaplease · 01/12/2022 19:34

@hollyjolls completely agree. And they seem quite well of anyway.

OP posts:

How long is his driving ban? I don't recall it mentioning anything it on the show.

FTHC · 01/12/2022 21:07

For those saying he'll be fine job wise

He has posted on twitter about it.

Kinda shows what a decent bloke he is I think personally.

Is a data centre another name for an electrician ?

UniversalAunt · 01/12/2022 23:38

Most or all crimes on UK statutes have a structure of recommended sentencing.

For the crime of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, the length & type of sentencing is determined by culpability & harm, with additional factors that affect the sentencing outcome,

This approach means that sentencing in the UK is consistent & not at the whim of the Judge after the jury has found the defendant guilty. The Judge may make comment at the sentencing.

Adam White sentence seems to have been at the ‘lighter’ end of the sentencing guidelines for the crime of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

None of us are inclined to favour the would-be burglars, but how quickly would any of us have favoured or donated to Adam White had he struck & injured/killed a pedestrian or other motorists when he lost control of his car?

Still the same man driving the same car in the same way for the same reason - yet had an uninvolved person been hurt or killed, would he be feted in the same way?

They need a lot of reliable mains voltage power and I can imagine building and maintaining a power grid for one is a quite specific skill. And the companies running them will require a DBS check due to data protection and he now has a criminal record.
