It's turned into a total snooze fest. Nothing is happening with 2 episodes to go. If you can work out what's going on as it's so dark. I'll plod on with the last two but it's a massive disappointment for me after a promising start.

I can't wait to see it. The older Aemond looks like a true Targaryen badass.

There's a great scene where Aemond and Daemon are staring each other down and there are so many similarities in looks, situation (younger brother) and perhaps personality too. It was like they were looking in a mirror.

limitedperiodonly · 10/10/2022 11:08

Six-year time jump casually put in there. During which babies were born, wars were fought and older actors replaced the younger ones. They should have made everyone wear conference badges so I didn't have to keep wondering who the new faces were. Apart from Aemond and his handy eye patch.

Claymorekick · 10/10/2022 11:34

I think I missed the dagger in this episode - or was it all the discussion about fire and ice?

Not one to watch whilst eating 🤢

Still can't work out what Rhaenys is doing - feels like she is manipulating everyone but it is all going over my head 🤷‍♀️

BlackberryCat · 10/10/2022 11:46

Yes, Viserys was talking about Aegon and how he is the Prince that was Promised. I think he was was actually talking about Jon Snow but Alicent obviously misinterpreted his words to mean that he wanted their son Aegon to take over the throne after his death, then it cut to the dagger which is displayed by his bed.

WinterIsComingKnitFaster · 10/10/2022 11:53

Also when Visaerys threatened to take Vaemond's tongue he reached for the dagger at his belt. I think it was the catspaw dagger.

WinterIsComingKnitFaster · 10/10/2022 12:03

I've finally found where I recognise Aemond (aka Mirror Universe Daemon). He's our heroine's misguided and ill-fated brother Billy from Trigger Point.

Good catch!

Aemond definitely looks bad-ass. It's funny that Ser Criston never ages! He must be a forefather of Paul Rudd.

I'm going to have nightmares about Viserys face without the mask. That eye socket! The make-up department did a great job!

WinterIsComingKnitFaster · 10/10/2022 12:20

I was more mesmerised by his teeth. How did they do it? CGI? Stunt double teeth? Does Paddy C actually have missing teeth and a bridge?

WhathaveIdoneagain · 10/10/2022 13:35

@BlackberryCat 🤣 at the Paul Rudd comment.
I never paid any attention to Aemond in the books, but I am now a huge fan of the rivalry between him and Daemon! Although, disturbingly, Daemon looks younger.

Viserys's body is a symbol of the fall of the House Targaryen.

Haelena 😭

Rhaenys learnt politics the hard way. She only ever supports a winning side.

AcrossthePond55 · 10/10/2022 13:39

Daemon and Aemond look more like father and son than uncle and nephew. Hmmmm.

I did like the way they looked at each other, as if recognising a kindred amoral spirit as well as an enemy.

WhathaveIdoneagain · 10/10/2022 13:45

Game recognises game.

667TheNeighbourOfTheBeast · 10/10/2022 19:44

What was the significance of seeing the dagger at the end ? (No rat 🐀 this week!) was this just because Viserys was talking about the Prince that was promised or was there some other significance?

BorgQueen · 10/10/2022 20:57

I noticed with Paddy’s teeth, they were painted out to make it seem like they were missing, you could just about spot them in a couple of scenes.

I imagine his death will be hidden from Rhaenrya, given that she hasn’t left KL yet ( unless there’s been another time jump) .
In the book she’s on Dragonstone and it’s months before she hears.

PuppyMonkey · 10/10/2022 21:01

DP and I were saying next week, even after the state of him this ep, the episode will probably open saying “five years later” and King Viserys will STILL be alive.
He just won’t kick the bucket.Grin

gingot · 10/10/2022 21:06

What was the significance of the woman (not sure who) turning up to the other woman (also not sure who), who said something like 'it seems it been a busy night's

Teacoaster · 10/10/2022 21:10

I'm really struggling to stay focused during this series. By the first break, I'm usually on my phone.

Did Aegon Targaryen marry his sister? I'm so confused.

LobeliaBaggins · 10/10/2022 21:12

Wow, Alicent's sons are terrifying. Like Children of the Corn with added eyepatches.
Alicent seems to enjoy constantly discovering Aegon in various states of undress. Does he ever wear pants?
How did Viserys lose an eye? I couldn't keep up. How is he so aged while everyone else has drunk from the fountain of youth? ( Otto Hightower, Daemon, Vaemond Velaryon)

Lol at the suggestion of conference badges to keep up with the constantly changing characters.

Yay, I know the answer to this:) Yes, Aegon married his sister Haelena ( not sure of spelling). You couldn't be expected to know this because the Aegon of the last episode looks completely different from the Aegon of this episode, as does Haelena. I am only managing to keep up with a Targaryen family tree.

WhathaveIdoneagain · 10/10/2022 21:15

@Teacoaster Yes Aegon and Heleana married and had kids. Dyana, the serving girl who was raped in the first scene of the episode, was meant to pick the children up. Poor Heleana 😭

Teacoaster · 10/10/2022 21:16

Thanks so much. Currently looking online for a decent family tree. TV shouldn't be this hard. 🤣

I think the woman in the hood was a maid/servant to Alicent but I can’t be certain, the other woman is the prostitute/courtesan that Daemon was with earlier on in the series I can’t remember her name bogies with an M, lol sorry can’t be more help !

WhathaveIdoneagain · 10/10/2022 21:20

Mysaria was Daemon's lover, and it has a significance for later events.

The woman in the hoody was a servant from the Red Keep, coming to give Myseria (Daemon's ex) the hot goss. Myseria aka The White Worm has abandoned sex work for the more exciting profession of secret-mongering.

eltonjohnsglasses · 10/10/2022 21:45

I was confused by the ending & Im confused by how many kids Rheneyra has
