I have insomnia so stayed up and watched, seems pretty good so far!

I really enjoyed it, will be watching again as DH wants to see it, but doesn't want to watch the LOTR spin off at the same time. I'm not waiting on that finishing before starting this!

Wow it was brilliant didn't disappoint at all!!

Good start. It looked and sounded sufficiently thrilling. (Apart from orgies so overly choreographed as to be pointless. They really need to find a new way of conveying whatever they think naked bodies convey.)

The main thing lacking (so far) is wit and humour and pathos coming from grotesquely, hilariously individual characters - no Tyrion Lannister, no Hound, no Brienne of Tarth. Possibly those kinds of characters might emerge?

At the moment everyone seems well intentioned - even Matt Smith, who’s so unfeasibly pretty (and has such a lovely voice) it’s going to be impossible to see him as anything close to a dead-eyed Ramsay Bolton type of villain.

Really enjoyed it…. And loved hearing the theme again on the closing credits.

@TheLovleyChebbyMcGee i can’t wait for that too, I’m also really excited about Willow on Disney Plus, one of my favourite movies from my youth, can’t wait to see how that pans out.

@FiloPasty I forgot about Willow, thanks for the reminder! Yes we watched the wheel of time, really enjoyed it, I didn't know anything of it before, but DH has read all the WOT books and enjoyed it too!

@TheLovleyChebbyMcGee I’m on book 7/15 of the WOT really enjoying.

I'm hoping for second string characters like Bronn and Varis and Pod and Brienne to emerge. They did so much to enliven GoT with humour and henchman's hard pragmatism. Loved Bronn for that
And we should have a wise and witty main character like Tyrion .
I sat up late to watch it and I'll watch again tonight to fix characters in my mind

I really liked it, but agree it needs an injection of humour via some secondary characters. Matt Smith needs to be careful he doesn't leave too many teeth marks on the scenery, though
