another one who thought “Greys Anatomy” about the playroom in the basement, near the viewing room - which will be near the mortuary. What an ideal place for young children!

at the start of the ep, we were told Charlie had already worked a full shift, and was still working an hour later. He was in the entire episode, so that means he did a double shift. How? He looks far too doddery to do one full shift, let alone two.

please, please, please do not bring back Blake. He was the most annoying Casualty offspring ever. And had a permanently sulky expression on his face.

I knew he'd be her dad!

What did I miss, who is whose dad?

purpleme12 · 09/04/2023 23:43

Max is Jodie's dad

Anotherdaymorenames · 09/04/2023 23:56

Isn't it about time Charlie cashed in that nice NHS pension? It must be maxed out by now!

Ballsaque · 10/04/2023 08:49

‘Carry on Nursing’ 😂😂😂

You can work in the NHS and to continue to accrue pension benefits beyond age 60. You cannot accrue more than 45 calendar years' service or be pensionable beyond age 75

in a flashback scene some years ago, we saw Charlie decide to go into nursing as a school leaver. This was before nurses did a degree - they were earning from the start.

he is now 75.

his 45 years service for his maximum pension was probably reached at least 10 years ago.

I knew he'd be her dad!

I managed to confuse myself and was wondering if Max was the man she picked up in the bar. (And my usual inability to recognise people meant I didn't clock it at the start.) Then I couldn't work out why they were doing so familiar and serious about their relationship just a after only just met each other a few hours ago. 😀

Penny dropped at the end. So he's a secret daughter he abandoned and she's got daddy issues so hooks up with older men.

Didn't Paige do the turn up after a night out?

Also nervous nurse is a dreadful character. Worse new character ever to appear on Casualty - and that's saying something.

AnImaginaryCat · 11/04/2023 08:10

Also, writers of Casualty please, please, please retire or exploded Charlie.

Quia · 11/04/2023 08:28

I was quite puzzled how nervous nurse managed to be so nervous when presumably he'd gone through at least some training and had some experience with patients.

PeasInOurTime · 13/04/2023 16:23

I’ve finally watched last week - so happy to see Donna!!

LouisCatorze · 13/04/2023 17:28

Wonder whether Donna is still in a relationship with the dishy former-child-star doctor of Holby days?

Whatthetrolley · 13/04/2023 17:55

Also caught up today. Surely if they had had a mass walkout of staff, they wouldn't be employing 3 new staff straight out of training and would need some people with experience?

Not liking the two new male characters. Nervous and bolshy idiot. I'm sure they'll calm down but not convinced currently.

LouisCatorze · 13/04/2023 18:45

Donna is presumably equivalent to Jacob. But the three / four newbies don't seem to have the couple of years' experience that Robyn and Marty had, and considerably more (by a couple of decades at least) for David?

pointythings · 13/04/2023 18:58

Donna would be a Band 7, which is the normal grade for the post. The other newbies would be Band 5s, but a lot of Band 5s end up leaving because there aren't enough opportunities for career advancement. You can be at B5 for a long time and get a lot of experience, but B6 posts aren't easy to come by.

PortalooSunset · 13/04/2023 21:15

If Donna is a straight up replacement for Jacob why is her uniform different? It's bothering me in an irrational way.

Isnt she supposed to be agency?

purpleme12 · 13/04/2023 21:35

I wondered about the colour of the uniform.
I don't think we've seen that colour before

Yes, I wondered that too. I’ve found a pic
of her with the new recruits and clinical nurse manager is embroidered on her uniform, had a look at Google Images and some hospitals have that tunic for nurse consultants. I never watched Holby so she’s new to me, I don’t know what her role was in that.
Still none the wiser as to why it’s different to what Jacob wore.

Anotherdaymorenames · 13/04/2023 23:05

She's a specialist nurse (like Faith who also has a snazzy uniform compared to others) as well as being a clinical lead. I think. I googled based on your post

LouisCatorze · 13/04/2023 17:28

Xav?

he died in the second to last series of Holby.

spiderlight · 14/04/2023 09:50

Yes, Xav is dead. She and his brother were flirting but I can't remember whether they got together or decided it was too weird.

It's all making me miss Holby though. Do you think that having Sascha pop up and now Donna is a sign that the BBC realise they shouldn't have cancelled it?

LouisCatorze · 14/04/2023 13:10

Gosh, yes, totally forgot that Xav was killed by Cameron, wasn't he?

How quickly, I'd forgotten that!

It would be nice to see some more appearances from Sascha. What about Fletch?

purpleme12 · 14/04/2023 13:27

I didn't watch Holby but I liked Sascha when he came in
