When Dylan was complaining about lack of staff, I did want Marcus to point out to him that, given the decision to let Ethan leave without notice, the problem was kind of self-induced. But I guess the scriptwriters can't acknowledge that one, given that virtually no-one ever gives formal notice anyway when they leave.

LIZS · 13/02/2023 16:54

Should we read anything into the agency nurse who had some lines, most are non speaking parts.

SoupDragon · 13/02/2023 17:56

I assume Agency Nurse will become Permanent Nurse in the coming weeks. That or she does temp work as a carer in the care homes.

unvillage · 13/02/2023 23:23

Honestly, it's so difficult to believe that Jacob had run in, but decided that running out would take too long and instead he had to run back and cut off a man's foot.

Dylan never wanted to be clinical lead anyway. He's leaned into it the last year or so but would be happier on the front lines again so Stevie's probably welcome to it, as long as she neeeeever gets back together with Marcus. We're running low on doctors again, not sure if anyone on the writing staff has noticed.

Oh I didn't think it until you said it but this is absolutely the hamfisted plotline that the writers love. It's totally her murdering the elderly for fun

Xol · 13/02/2023 23:25

They never really replaced whatshername, did they, the one with the hearing impairment? So maybe Agency Nurse is her belated replacement.

MrsLighthouse · 14/02/2023 07:18

Why didn’t Jacob just carry on running ? Or climb higher ..what did he think he’d achieve by going back 🤔 the foot cutting was grim!

AnImaginaryCat · 14/02/2023 07:50

Jacob didn't carry on running because we needed him to turn back and rip off his top so we could see his six pack.

Though obviously made no sense really. He needed to get mountain rescue and therefore needed a phone signal so should have gone on the 'miles' to get a phone signal.

I mean I get why he might keep stopping and looking back - thinking of the person trapped, injured and distressed alone - but you would have to go on as it was the only way to get help freeing the man's foot in reality. (I'm certain he didn't turn back with the intention of cutting the foot off and carrying him back)

Xol · 14/02/2023 10:31

Given the state of the patient by the time Jacob got to the hospital, he would never have survived if that car hadn't turned up. Which makes Jacob's actions even more ridiculous.

Hellocatshome · 14/02/2023 13:29

If Jacob lopped the guys foot off and then he died would that be manslaughter?

purpleme12 · 14/02/2023 13:50

No he chopped it off so he could save him and carry him out

(Yes I'm aware people will come back about the plotholes but that's how the story went)

SoupDragon · 14/02/2023 14:12

I think it would be key that had he done nothing, the man would have died.

Hellocatshome · 14/02/2023 15:22

Its good to know should I ever come across a guy with his foot stuck between rocks.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/02/2023 16:56

LIZS · 12/02/2023 14:51

It was handy he had a penknife open within reach! Funny to remember that but apparently no phone etc.

His phone dropped from his hand as he went over the cliff

Plus doesn't 999 work with no signal

Not sure why Jacob didn't run back the way he came - surely he doesn't run for hours so only had to go back to his car to get signal if that's the case

You can possibly send a text apparently as this uses less signal.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/02/2023 18:07

Agree nurse Tilly will be in it more

She had lots of lines and screen time

Tho seems a little unsure of herself and what to do with cpr and biting tongues

Then her eyes when Jacob said he didn't have a choice and gave him 4mg of drugs

Maybe she isn't a nurse or is a spy

Yes why didn't Jacob ring ahead

Where is this really remote valley where people go running

Nurse had a 20m nap and was 250 I think. Jacob said he would be back by 330. So maybe 30m of running

Hardly in the middle of nowhere

Poor Dylan. He doesn't want all the agro

Plus doesn't 999 work with no signal

It won't work with no signal at all, but it should work on any signal, whether or not that's from your phone provider or any other.

LavenderHillMob · 18/02/2023 20:54

Oh for heaven's sake Marcus. You still have to do right and proper person's checks - and an actual clinician needs to interview.

This is stupid.

Well we already know they don't have an HR department by the way people come and go willy nilly and last week reception man was doing a HCA course and now he's working front line! What's a new clinician with out an interview?!

Hellocatshome · 18/02/2023 21:27

So will Robyn and Paul give notice or just leave do we think?

LavenderHillMob · 18/02/2023 21:31

We saw George Rainsford/Ethan in Elf before Christmas. I wonder what Robyn and Paul are going to be in.

LIZS · 18/02/2023 21:37

Eugh Marcus is becoming controlling and coercive, Stevie handing him opportunities on a plate. Did we not have a train crash relatively recently(Faith?).

Paul did say something like "I know it's only practise" so I'm guessing it's a shadow shift/part of his training rather than he's already got the job.
