social Worker Adi was really creepy and controlling . Hope Marty wakes up and dumps him asap.

how many times did Faith say “sweetheart” tonight?

DJ looked more like 14 than 11

any guesses what is wrong with Robyn?

spiderlight · 02/10/2022 00:21

When Robyn ran off to be sick, I assumed she was already pregnant somehow, but then the whole sperm cocktail thing suggests not. Pulmonary embolism caused by the hormone injections? Did she cough up the blood or puke it up? Either way, she's going to miss Charlotte's play!

I remember years ago they did a whole retirement storyline for Charlie who was massively offended but warmed to the idea and eventually retired. Then by the end of the second shift without him they were short staffed and called him in and retirement was never mentioned again. No idea what his actually job description is though because I haven't seen him treat a patient in ages.
Does he actually work there or is he a sort of patient relations volunteer? That would make more sense.

Actually, I think he was wearing a badge that said something along those lines - I spotted it when it came back after it was off air for a few weeks before this. I can't remember what it said though.

SoupDragon · 02/10/2022 09:18

I think Robyn coughed up the blood. I also thought she was pregnant but couldn't work out who the father would be given it clearly wasn't the IVF. She's not actually in a relationship with the receptionist is she? I assume it is to do with the hormone injections - they seemed to make a "thing" about it.

TrashyPanda · 02/10/2022 11:45

According to the BBC Casualty website he is an Emergency Nurse Practitioner

they say Charlie is the lynchpin of the emergency department

however, the website is hopelessly out of date - no trace of Faith or dippy new doc with bad makeup. Strangely, Sah is on there though. And there’s nothing on the profile of David about Ollie dying.

it would make more sense if he was just a “meet and greet” type volunteer. He just isn’t credible as a nurse - far too doddery.

SoupDragon · 02/10/2022 12:23

He's a charge nurse.

i now need to go and recover from watching too much of him on iPlayer 😂

TrashyPanda · 02/10/2022 12:28

Jacob is the charge nurse, isn’t he?

TrashyPanda · 02/10/2022 12:29

I’d need a stiff drink to do that!

SoupDragon · 02/10/2022 13:23

TrashyPanda · 02/10/2022 12:28

He"s the nurse manager or something I think. Charlie's old job.

TrashyPanda · 02/10/2022 13:33

This is all very confusing!

one thing’s for certain - Jacob is 100 times more competent that Charlie. I wouldn’t trust Charlie to know which day of the week it was.

CorporateBull · 03/10/2022 07:14

I’m properly enjoying this more than I have in a while. Pace is better. More mix between patients and staff. Back to criticism of the funding of the NHS (while also remaining totally unrealistic about the way staff actually work of course!). It’s not perfect and it really needs some better characters but it feels like positive movement.

Having said all that, if Dylan leaves, so do I.

SoupDragon · 03/10/2022 07:27

I think the removal of the covid precautions has helped the feel of it.

CorporateBull · 03/10/2022 09:03

I’m sure you’re right, and I hadn’t considered what a difference it was making.

TrashyPanda · 03/10/2022 09:09

Dylan is the only character I feel invested in.
i quite like Rash and David, and Jan is okay, but I really don’t care about the rest of them.

It's since the start of the new series.
Which tells me that maybe it was shit because of the pandemic.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 05/10/2022 06:36

When did we last see Rash??

AnImaginaryCat · 05/10/2022 07:14

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 05/10/2022 06:36

When did we last see Rash??

Not sure. I feel he was in briefly a few weeks ago.

Though I've just recall his personality change over the doctor of the colourful makeup. We've seen him since then, haven't we?

Hellocatshome · 08/10/2022 21:46

I never liked Adi but he is quickly going down my list whilst Paul despite being useless and pointless is going up.

Rainbowcat99 · 08/10/2022 21:52

Charlie really is a useless lump of jelly isn't he?

Hellocatshome · 08/10/2022 21:56

Spoke too soon that fight was so embarrassing I think I would have preferred it if Paul just thumped him.

WhatICallMyUsername · 08/10/2022 23:47

I think they were trying to channel the Bridget Jones Darcy/Cleaver fight scene and failed miserably! I too would have preferred it if Paul had just punched him and I don't like either of them!

purpleme12 · 09/10/2022 00:59

😂

purpleme12 · 09/10/2022 00:59

Well I can't say Adi will be a great loss to the show!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 09/10/2022 07:24

Why was that fight so ridiculous? It completely undermined the fact that Adi is a disturbingly coercive man and just made him look faintly ridiculous instead! And Paul with those bloody stickers all over his face. Were we meant to find that cute or endearing in some way?

MrsMoastyToasty · 09/10/2022 15:28

Has Adi developed a strong Bristolian accent this week or was it always there?
