Just realised this thread is disappeared and they I can't recall what happened in Saturday's Casualty.

Can't even recall if it was on!!

Evidently a dull one (or I've got even more forgetful)

EmptyHouse0822 · 23/09/2022 07:14

I just wish they’d smarted Dylan up - he’s looking a bit too greasy and unkempt for me.

We saw a bit more into Sah’s background which was good but the episode ended with her reconciling with her mum and it just wasn’t very realistic I don’t think.

That is all I can remember from the episode.

SoupDragon · 23/09/2022 07:37

I can't recall what happened in Saturday's Casualty.

um... Sah's dad had another stroke... old lady with cancer died with Dylan sitting by her after his shift. Seem to be ramping up Dylan's disgust at the state of the NHS as she spent time on a trolley in the corridor before they found a side room... Dylan walked out of a board meeting to Do Work after Boss Man took over and talked for him

I can only remember random bits and I'm not convinced they ar from the same episode 😂

EmptyHouse0822 · 23/09/2022 07:41

And didn’t Sah get held at knife point by that man who was going to jail?

And was this week’s episode the one with the body cams? Or was that last week? They all seem to blur into one.

SoupDragon · 23/09/2022 09:05

Something happened with Sah outside of her father having a stroke.. 🤔

I think you're right - he stole Jan's car and kidnapped Sah and went looking for his kids.

SoupDragon · 23/09/2022 09:06

I'm reasonably confident that the body cams were last week because I thought they might have been useful this week and they weren't there.

Shelllc130 · 23/09/2022 10:44

Me personally I don’t think he looks greasy, but I’d imagine he’s meant to look unkempt - he’s under immense pressure, exhausted and showing signs of severe burnout (something that I think has gradually been building up since last series).
Seen a few comments now saying they think this could be leading up to him having a breakdown.

Shelllc130 · 23/09/2022 11:02

The last episode was the one with the body cams, same episode as Sah’s dad having a stroke and then Sah getting kidnapped at knife point and Dylan’s story arc that was mentioned above.

I think the Paramedics are fast becoming the unluckiest people in Holby, actually considering how many paramedics have died they probably are.

Or maybe turning back to drinking?

Or maybe turning back to drinking?

That could definitely be the case, it does feel like it’s building up to something.

spiderlight · 24/09/2022 14:15

We haven't seen Dervla for a while. I hope she's OK!

WhatICallMyUsername · 24/09/2022 19:32

Ooooh I lost the last thread during the update! I could only see it sometimes
on the app but never post on it or bookmark it. Every time I tried it said there was an error! Off to catch up!

WhatICallMyUsername · 24/09/2022 19:35

I've just noticed this thread has been going since June! 😂

PizzaFunghi · 24/09/2022 19:38

Not on tonight though is it? I don't see it listed but my app never seems to be up to date with changes, which is why I've lost touch with what's happening as I hardly ever see it, or when I do, I miss the start!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/09/2022 22:46

I’ve only just caught up with last two. With ivf injections and @TrashyPanda assuming it’s private ivf. Not sure gays get nhs but I could wrong - plus if nhs they would be on the list for years

so if private they aren’t so fussy about the weight of the female as it’s money being paid iyswim

where if nhs bmi needs to be under 25

yes sah reconciling with mum wouldn’t happen in real life

unless she thoight life too short after being kidnpped by prison bloke

dylan is still cute

I actually liked STEVIE for once when she said sorry

Just seen on Giovanna Fletcher's page she's touring a play with George Rainsford. Wonder if that means he's leaving or just won't be in it for a while and they hope we don't notice!

purpleme12 · 28/09/2022 23:10

I think Sah reconciling could happen in real life.

I have realised it wasn't on this week. Was really looking forward to watching it then saw it wasn't on ☹️

Oh I hope he is leaving.

we watch Classic Casualty, and Ethan and Cal arrived a couple of weeks ago. What is astonishing is that Ethan’s character has not matured/developed at all in over 8 years. The only difference is that he doesn’t wear glasses any more. Who knew the death of a sibling could be so transformative and cure myopia?

actually, he was more mature 8 tears ago, as he wasn’t crying all the time.

bizzey · 30/09/2022 12:22

I have been watching out of "duty"
But I am still missing things !

Is Marcus the husband of Stevie's sister?
Who she had a fling with ?

purpleme12 · 30/09/2022 12:27

Yes

TrashyPanda · 30/09/2022 12:52

We also watch Classic Holby.

IMO what Casualty needs is characters like Fletch and Donna for the nurses - they are very real, they have problems, they aren’t perfect but above all they are kind and they try to do the right thing always. They are warm and you really care about them. Jac Naylor is much more nuanced than Stevie.

Back in the day, casualty had this with Jeff and Dixie, Lara and Patrick, Ruth and Jay. But those days are long past. It’s a “broad brush” approach, no longer detailed. We are told “Charlie is the best nurse ever/the heart of the ED” but we are never shown anything to corroborate this.

purpleme12 · 30/09/2022 13:12

I like Stevie's character actually.

But agree with you that the above characters were great.

In fact Ruth must be one of my favourites ever

Hellocatshome · 30/09/2022 14:58

Was Ruth the one that had a breakdown and ended up in the psychiatric hospital that Charlie somehow was working in?

TrashyPanda · 30/09/2022 23:11

Yes, that was Ruth.
she was such a complex character - and the actress was amazing.

(Charlie was ousted from the ED due to budget cuts, as they couldn’t afford both him and Tess. He nobly offered to go, thus leaving Tess who was 10 times better anyway. Sadly, he later returned to the ED and has been bumbling around, delivering lines with all the verve and animation of a breeze block)

I remember years ago they did a whole retirement storyline for Charlie who was massively offended but warmed to the idea and eventually retired. Then by the end of the second shift without him they were short staffed and called him in and retirement was never mentioned again. No idea what his actually job description is though because I haven't seen him treat a patient in ages.
Does he actually work there or is he a sort of patient relations volunteer? That would make more sense.
